Set in Tejeda, 30 mi from Puerto de Mogán, Ecoturismo Casa Cueva offers a terrace and free WiFi. A cute house located in a nice village. Glued to the mountain side in a national park , the town has a few bakeries and restaurants, along with a small grocery store and pharmacy. It is an ideal place to discover the beautiful surroundings of Pico de las Nieves, Roque Nublo, and many other wonderful hiking and biking places.
Featuring stone walls and wooden ceiling beams, Finca La Isa is located in a quiet area of Cruz de Tejeda and offers stunning mountain views. Free WiFi and free private parking are available. We rented the ten person house and it was brilliant value for money and the views were exceptional.
Featuring a shared garden, a shared outdoor pool and mountain views, Chalets Rurales Bentayga offers holiday homes in Tejeda. The views and pool area were spectacular - an absolute highlight for us. Everything was clean and the chalet was very well equipped with everything we needed during our stay (we were 7 people). It is within walking distance to Roque Bentayga which was perfect for a sunset walk. Communication was easy with the host - check in and out were very easy. We shared the pool area with the chalet next door but this was not a problem for us as we all got along well - there is plenty of space for everyone. We would definitely stay here again - highly recommended.
Casa Santana Segura is located within the natural setting of Tejeda. Free WiFi access is available. The air-conditioned house has a full kitchen and a lounge with sofas and TV. Lovely house, magnificent view, centre of the town but very restful and cosy bed. Alicia was lovely and provisions of fresh bread, local cheese and her own jam was the icing on the cake.

The apartment was roomy, beds good and an awesome terrace. Room 5😃 on the top. Location was superb, above Spar supermarket and cafe's, bakeries and restaurants near by.

Andrea and Antonia were fantastic friendly hosts, offering advice on amenities and local walks. We look forward to returning soon.
Tejeda is a mountain village at the highest point of Gran Canaria. The scenery is stunningly beautiful and if you like walking or hiking even in December it is warm and sunny and fantastic. However nights are cold and the pretty village is only lively during the day(in winter). A cluster of restaurants cater to day trippers coming up from the coastal resorts for lunch and close by 6pm.!A couple of patisseries stay open for another hour or two but only to serve cakes and drinks if you sit outside in the cold. Unless you visit at the weekend there is nothing to do at night,no hot meals or drinks! This is a shame because the place is such a lovely place to stay.I did make this complaint with the Tourist Office(usually located at the Museum opposite the Church). Beatriz the Tourist Info. Lady is amazingly helpful and a true Star!
Tejeda is a picturesque village in a stunning setting. The area is ideal for outdoor pursuits such as hiking and (serious) cycling. In the village itself, there is a selection of bars and restaurants, a small supermarket, bakery and cake shop. Whilst there, we had a couple of meals at Sabores Tejeda, including tasty pizzas. There are bus services that operate to Tejeda, however we hired a car for the week.
If you have a detailed map it is clear that Tejeda is the obvious base for walking around Gran Canaria's central mountain region lying between Cruz de Tejeda, Pico de las Nieves, Roque Nublo, Roque Bentayga and Artenara. The town has a few café bars, restaurants and a SPAR and is a pretty destination in its own right. I would recommend staying at least 3 days to take in the town and local area. It is a good contrast with Las Palmas de Gran Canaria which I visited on the same holiday. Not just the pace of life, but Tejeda being >1000m high is at least 10C colder than LPGC at sea level!
I really like this place, it´s surrounded by beautiful nature in quiet and relaxing envinroment. If you want to relax, do some hiking, its really great place to stay. Only thing I dont like, there were animals around the house obviously very hungry and nobody cared about them.
Tejeda is the perfect base for walks around central Gran Canaria (The Cumbre). Roque Nublo is the famous walk that everyone does but there's so much more, including The Tamadaba Forest where I walked for 4 hours and only saw two other people and Pico de las Nieves. Lots of great places to eat too. I wasn't there long enough to sample more than a couple but I'll definitely be going back.
We were there last year and there appeared to be far more people around and eating outside. This year there were upgrade works ongoing which must have put people off. I hope the new layout allows for dining outside so that the very nice views can be admired, particularly by day visitors. The Supermarket is well stocked for a small shop which is important.
