What Guests Said About El Paso:

El Paso is situated in the middle of La Palma.

El Paso is situated in the middle of La Palma. This makes it ideal for trips to the beaches or hiking trails on the west and the east of La Palma. If your looking for restaurants or bars, El Paso is not ideal and Los Llanos or Tazacorte should be preferred.

My initial reaction on arriving in El Paso was: "it's full of dead things". The plants were dead (possibly as a result of the 2016 forest fires, which I hope the area will recover from quickly), the atmosphere was dead. We went to see the petroglyphs, and found them behind a rubbish dump and a cemetery - more deadness. There was a pathos to finding symbols carved for fertility and life in such a place. We decided to stay in El Paso originally because it looked like a good place from which to explore the national park - and it is. A bus runs every 30 minutes to the park centre, from which you can hike to the hermitage of the Virgin of the Pines, the ridge, the caldera. But it wouldn't have been much more trouble to do that from Santa Cruz, which is what we'd choose to do in future. On the plus side, there are some really excellent restaurants - the Black Pearl and Tasca Catalina were both superb.

A lovely, well equipped and tasteful furnished apartment with 2 terraces. The hosts are very helpful and caring, providing their guests with all information they might need to make their stay a happy one. Abundant fresh fruit from the owner's garden welcomes the visitor. The view from the terrace is stunning. Tourist information and a big supermarket is in walking distance. Tip: for those with sensitive ears bring earplugs for early morning traffic. We certainly plan to come back. Josée and Mieke The Netherlands

We had a great and very comfortable stay at Casa Jurado. It's a good base for hiking trips in the nearby national park. Also you can reach in only 3 minutes walk the bus 300 that takes you to the capital Santa Cruz or the other direction to Los Llanos. The room was very clean and comfortable due to nice wooden furniture. The matress was very good. Also comfortable living room. Prices hard to beat. Omar (the hostel owner) and stuff were very friendly and helpful. Thanks to both!

it was quiet, so I had good peaceful sleep. I had a good view of the hills. El Paso has everything you need, good couple of museums and easy access to some petroglifos at el verde and nice walk down the barraca. Bus 300 stops in El Paso every half hour (7 mins walk). I was able to catch some sun sitting in the lovely pool, garden area. the apartment had a washing machine and a heater to warm it up in the evening. Judy was helpful and friendly 😁

The hostess was super kind and responded quickly to our questions through Booking.com. The house was very nicely furnished, clean and lots of space. We had a private parking spot right in front of our door. And as volcanologists, it was a great location to monitor the current volcanic eruption of the Cumbre Vieja on La Palma.

As I did not stay in this hotel for the night I cannot judge the rooms. The owner of this place is very friendly and helpful, and can give you valuable information of the surroundings. The location was close to the viewpoint of Cumbre Vieja volcano and the surroundings seems to be tranquil during normal circumstances.

A true gem, fully surrounded by nature. A jaw dropping surrounding, and the best hosts I could wish for. The perfect get away of you want to spend some time in nature. The energy there is really good and the other guests were also amazing. I only stayed for 2 nights, but it feels like home. For sure I will be back.

The house was spacious and clean, set in a very calm neighbourhood. The location was central, convenient to visit both western and eastern side of the island. The house had a small porch and a private parking space. The kitchen was equipped and there was a welcome bottle of wine and some apples.

Well equipped kitchen. Excellent location for hiking Taburients and walking to good restaurants in El Paso, like El Geco. Jan meant ripe limes and oranges hanging on the trees in the yard. Fresh quacamole anyone? We soaked in late afternoon sun in the enclosed balcony daily.
