So happy here! The customer service is everything. I was so happy with the treatment and kindness of the house owner - Rebeca took care of our arrival, explained in details self check-in even with a little video and photos of the gate to drive in, so it was so easy to start our stay. Excellent communication from the start to end, I felt so welcomed here, like at home! 🥰
- A small tip on how to get there more comfortably: there are generally quite steep hills with tiny roads in El Paso, so I recommend to take the main road to get around and drive to the accommodation from the hill down instead of using GPS and travel via little roads up (they can be quite challenging for drivers that are not used to them). Also, remember the green HiperDino supermarket as an orientation point :)
We were give an apartment downstairs, everything was clean and ready. Super spacious kitchen, privacy, equipment to make coffee, tea, even washing machine in the bathroom!
The best thing was probably the SWIMMING POOL. And the views at volcanos, including Cumbre Vieja - TOP! At the end of November, we were swimming in the pool - a little colder water but for a quick swim and relax absolutely super. There is a shower outside, so it’s a plus!
I recommend this place/area of El Paso if you plan to explore the south/west of the island, as it’s a great “strategy” point - this part is a lot warmer (we had around 26°C), ideal for a beach holiday, exploring volcanos, seeing banana plantations, shopping, eating out (huge supermarket around the corner and lots and lots of restaurants, cafeterias, authentic food… there were even recommendations in the apartment which we greatly appreciated :) It feels also safe to walk around at night.
Thank you so much El Mirador de El Paso! See you soon :)

I've been to almost all the hostels on the island and this is BY FAR the one I enjoyed most. Largely thanks to the colorful, diverse and friendly bunch that it succeeds at attracting, and to the fantastic work of a team of volunteers (Mel, Santiago, Paulina, Sofia and Stella) who will go out of their way to make you feel immediately at home and take care of the premises and guests in a very professional way. The kitchen is well equipped and the design of the common areas encourages mingling among guests. The rooftop terrace is amazing! And so is the location, right at the center of the island, next to an extremely well-stocked supermarket, close to the bus stop and at walking distance from several trailheads heading into the national park.
Guests staying at this apartment have access to a balcony. The apartment is composed of 1 bedroom, a fully equipped kitchen, and 1 bathroom. A flat-screen TV is featured.

pretty place, very friendly and fun staff, nice vibe!
El Paso is situated in the middle of La Palma. This makes it ideal for trips to the beaches or hiking trails on the west and the east of La Palma. If your looking for restaurants or bars, El Paso is not ideal and Los Llanos or Tazacorte should be preferred.

My initial reaction on arriving in El Paso was: "it's full of dead things". The plants were dead (possibly as a result of the 2016 forest fires, which I hope the area will recover from quickly), the atmosphere was dead. We went to see the petroglyphs, and found them behind a rubbish dump and a cemetery - more deadness. There was a pathos to finding symbols carved for fertility and life in such a place. We decided to stay in El Paso originally because it looked like a good place from which to explore the national park - and it is. A bus runs every 30 minutes to the park centre, from which you can hike to the hermitage of the Virgin of the Pines, the ridge, the caldera. But it wouldn't have been much more trouble to do that from Santa Cruz, which is what we'd choose to do in future. On the plus side, there are some really excellent restaurants - the Black Pearl and Tasca Catalina were both superb.
A lovely, well equipped and tasteful furnished apartment with 2 terraces. The hosts are very helpful and caring, providing their guests with all information they might need to make their stay a happy one.
Abundant fresh fruit from the owner's garden welcomes the visitor. The view from the terrace is stunning. Tourist information and a big supermarket is in walking distance.
Tip: for those with sensitive ears bring earplugs for early morning traffic.
We certainly plan to come back.

The El Paso is different from a "normal" hotel - in a good sense! You are not "surroundef" by staff. You have your own, very good, spacy room, and then access til indoor common facilities like kitchen and a large spacy living room. Outdoor there is a closed yard with a beautiful garden with swimmingpool and whirlpool. From the garden there is a wonderful view to the ocean. There is beautiful, modern artwork all around. This accommodation "calls upon" good communication with other guests, which I like.
Easy check-in. Receptionist took us to bungalow to show us around and we were able to have the microwave replaced by an oven. Spacious and comfortable living room and bedroom both with access to terrace facing the sunset. Reasonably equipped kitchen with outside area, including table and chairs, which we only used for hanging washing. Bathtub. Regular change of towels. Good wifi. Lovely, well-kept garden areas around the bungalows. Convenient for exploring the west of the island.
We had a great and very comfortable stay at Casa Jurado. It's a good base for hiking trips in the nearby national park. Also you can reach in only 3 minutes walk the bus 300 that takes you to the capital Santa Cruz or the other direction to Los Llanos. The room was very clean and comfortable due to nice wooden furniture. The matress was very good. Also comfortable living room. Prices hard to beat. Omar (the hostel owner) and stuff were very friendly and helpful. Thanks to both!
Fantastic house with all you need. Very clean, all facilities included, excellent view. Airco, full kitchen, spacious living room, 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, 2 terraces AND balcony, parking included. The house is better than pictures shown. Very good location on the island. The city of El Paso is only a 5 min drive away, and the house is located on a central area of the island, on the west side of the mountain ridge, thus much more sunnier than the east part.
Very attentif and friendly owners. The property is very well situated to visit the island, not far from el paso with a bus stop very close. I really liked the cabin where
I slept, lots of intimacy and quietness and a very comfortable bed, with some accommodation to make a meal or to have breakfast. It is really an oasis with a beautiful garden and a majestic view on the mountains. Excellent spot to watch the stars also, i will definitely come back.
great location in El Paso, close by supermarkets and restaurants. El Paso great access to both the Caldera, Los Llanos (well worth a visit and the sea. the owner David was super attentive to any WhatsApp queries or requests. great outdoor facilities if the weather had been better. if we revisit La Palma we will stay again.

PS there is a brilliant all goods Chinese run shop close by - we brought a load of bits and bobs back to England
Great location in the middle of El Paso with a big supermarket right across the street. A terrace/balcony with view of the mountains, and easy access to the trails, just 500m up the road. Beautiful and cozy apartment with all the needed equipment! Sweet and welcoming host, easy delivery and return of keys. Overall I really enjoyed my stay and would definitely recommend it to others! :-)
A true gem, fully surrounded by nature. A jaw dropping surrounding, and the best hosts I could wish for. The perfect get away of you want to spend some time in nature. The energy there is really good and the other guests were also amazing. I only stayed for 2 nights, but it feels like home. For sure I will be back.
The house was spacious and clean, set in a very calm neighbourhood. The location was central, convenient to visit both western and eastern side of the island. The house had a small porch and a private parking space. The kitchen was equipped and there was a welcome bottle of wine and some apples.
Cozy little finca in the vicinity of El Paso, with easy access to lots of restaurants and shops. House is well equipped, including with a dishwasher and washing machine and the wifi was really superb. Pilar, the owner, was very helpful and easy to contact in case we had any questions.
I liked the place for its vibe and the lovely people. I think it makes sense to read all the information up front to find out if this hostel is something for you. But I had only good experiences there and cannot wait to come back!
