A rural house in the middle of a banana plantation, nested into the hill above the valley. Amazing views from the terrace, overlooking the valley and the sea.
Easy to find and directions well explained by the host. It is only a 15 meters path to walk from the road, albeit quite narrow, a bit steep and with few stairs (not difficult at all though, even if we were carrying a big bag and a child).
A good-size apartment with a double bed and a double sofa-bed. Kitchen included all basic appliances and kitchenware.
Communication with the host was easy and efficient, always replying in time and very helpful.
CASA DONELA offers accommodations in Hermigua, 13 miles from Garajonay National Park. There's a private entrance at the apartment for the convenience of those who stay.
Hotel Rural Villa de Hermigua is ideally located in a beautiful green valley, set between the sea and Garajonay National Park. Free Wi-Fi is available in public areas.

If you like tranquility, walks and hikes, time away from any tourism
It has a well stocked local shop and a health food shop with German bread
Parking is a challenge in the village and having had parking with accommodation was a relief.
Restaurant Faro is incredible- need to book though, very popular
Not a beach vacation but wonderful hikes all around

It could be the best hiking place on La Gomera.
It could be the best hiking place on La Gomera. The village is surrounded by mountains of about 800-1000 meters, making it very picturesque place. As for hiking there are a few hiking paths going through the village, I made three nearly circular paths for 30-20-30 km, so there are variants.

Beautiful picturesque place , places to see & things to do, nice food, nice people, la Caleta beach is not for the faint of heart, up a risky mountain , we turned around half way , as still had an up hill climb and the a decent to the beach , I found it a bit scary. Lol

Hermigua is a great base to visit other towns and villages in the north of La Gomera and also Garajonay National Park.
There is a good selection of local bars/cafes and a handful of restaurants too. I particularly enjoyed the food in Bar Mariela and Cafe Gara, and also enjoyed the more local bar feel and watching sport in Cafe Don Juan.

Hermigua is an small, valley town in the north-east of La Gomera. The restaurants in the town were quite good and the atmosphere was quiet and low-key. The chief tourist destination is the local pescante, a ruin from a previous shipping industry that includes a natural, seawater swimming pool. The pool can be dangerous at high tide, but safe and delightful at low tide. The only downside of Hermigua was access to the national part and southwest side of the island was not easy; we drove for 45min - 60min each day to access other parts of the island.

Hermigua is a very elongated village with everything you need. There are a few restaurants and small supermarkets. It is located in a valley that is very green all year round. Down in the valley is a banana plantation and an aloe vera farm. There is no attractive beach. There are many hiking trails that start in Hermigua, many of them on steep paths into the mountains.
We were pleasantly surprised with the Telares. Room and kitchen were simple but very adequate and we adored the view. The common room/lounge was lovely and a great place to relax. Same for the pool! There were nearby restaurants and a grocery store a short walk away. The upper part of Hermigua is more dramatic than down the road and it was close to the Barranca de Cedro (a steep hike). Environmentaly consciousness waste system with recycling containers at the end of the hall and a left-over food supplies exchange.
Perfectly equipped kitchen, rooftop with a breathtaking view over the sea, tenerife, teide and the pescante de Hermigua!
Comfortable bed, modern furniture and everything was perfectly clean
Quite area with only the sounds of the ocean at night
Last but not least communication was super easy, the host was super friendly and helpful, always stayed in contact and even brought us bananas! :)
One of our most favorite accommodations ever!
12/10 :)
It was paradise! I don't think we picked our room when we booked, but we ended up with a huge room and a massive terrace overlooking a valley. The location was nice — the hotel itself feels remote (we could see the stars well from the terrace at night), but the center of town is a 10-ish-minute walk away and there's a store for essentials as well as a handful of restaurants (we went to two, and both were great). Would recommend!
The location is amazing, and so are the hosts. The view and the sunrises are something to experience. We've seen most of La Gomera and without a doubt we would choose to stay at Casa Luz again. Hermigua is a great village, with good places to eat, and a nice bathing area. The island is small enough that with a car you can see all of it without any issues sleeping there.
The house is beautifully situated in Hermigua with a great view up and down the valley (and over to Teide on Tenerife) from the terrace. The interior decor is great and it was very cosy in January so I didn't need the heater provided. I was able to work from there for a couple of days and had no issues with the wifi.
The room was super clean, spacious and equipped with closets and cupboards (enough for 2). The big Window offers a magnificent view on the moutains aroud Hermigua's area.
The area is close, by car, to the main trekking routes of the Garajonay National Park.
We absolutely loved this property! Very friendly and attentive staff, has an excellent location in the heart of La Gomera. Beautiful and very well preserved historic historic building, delicious breakfast and pristine facilities. Highly recommended!
Amazing quality for price. Service and amenities were excellent and do not think about skipping breakfast. The property is beautiful and the location is wonderful - Hermigua is a quaint, peaceful little town (except when the church bell tolls!).
Great location for hiking, located in Hermigua, a quiet part of the island. Opposite of supermarket and on walking distance there is a local farmer selling vegetables as well as an organic shop. Spacious apartment.
Fantastic hotel, very clean, comfortable, relaxed, central location. Great service, super friendly staff. The breakfast was outstanding, as was dinner - truly exceptional food and service in the restaurant as well.
we found the town house to be complete; equipped kitchen, comfortable bed, great shower and nice patios. it was convenient to walking trails at the north end of Hermigua and to the beach/ocean.
Quirky building.
Very comfortable bed.
Welcoming and friendly host.
Great location.
Beautiful setting.
Hermigua has lots of lovely restaurants to choose from.
Loved the host she was so friendly and helpful. Really tried to make me feel welcome.
