An Ancient University Town with Fascinating Culture
In the southwest corner of Castile and Leon, the Spanish city of Salamanca is home to one of the oldest universities in Europe. Declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Old City is one of the most beautiful Renaissance cities in Europe.

Founded by King Alfonso IX in 1218, the University of Salamanca has more than 3,500 international students and teachers. Known for its Spanish courses for non-native speakers, the university houses a huge library with more than 150,000 invaluable volumes.

It would have been very helpful if menus could have been in English for us as many times we didn’t buy because we didn’t know what we were ordering and the translate app wasn’t good enough at times. Made food ordering laborious and way to difficult at times.

Salamanca is a lovely city and definitely worth a visit. We stayed 3 night and were able to see everything we wanted without rushing. It is a walkable city. We came by train and left by bus. We used the local bus only once, and that was to get to our apartment. We were there during Easter weekend, so reservations are important. If you want to really know Spain: Visit Salamanca. I think it is underrated for what it is. Every corner of the city will surprise you with its rich cultural heritage. It's not far from Plaza Mayor, we stayed for 4 nights and everything was within walking distance. However, if you need a bus, you can take one from Avda. Reyes de Espana (less than 10 minutes walk). A nice, clean apartment. The kitchen was fully stocked, although we only used it for making coffee. And what we were looking for considering that we were in Spain in February – March, there was enough heat.

Parking is free around the hotel and there is underground parking if you want secure parking. The staff are really good and friendly, the food is good if you decide to eat in.

The decor including the en-suite was top notch in classic rather contemporary style. Great view of the park across the road, and a pleasant roof terrace with small pool. The hotel is a very pleasant 10/15 minute stroll to the Plaza Mayor which must be the most beautiful in the whole of Spain

A great little hotel. I hope to stay there again!
