Tarragona is located on the sunny ‘Costa Daurada‘, in southern Catalonia. With an inheritance dating back to local tribes, Carthaginians and Romans, it is today a vibrant cultural and economic centre. Don’t miss the ‘human towers’ during Tarragona’s Santa Tecla Festival, but check your hotel availability for the area with enough time in advance.
The ‘human towers’ became so popular all across Catalonia that they can be visited throughout the year at the festival centre ‘Casa de la Festa’. Try the local seafood dishes in El Serrallo fishing district, and don’t miss the wines from the area.
The city was an important provincial capital during Roman times and includes several UNESCO World Heritage sites, with the seaside amphitheatre from the 2nd century being the most relevant. The 12th-century Cathedral of St Mary was built on the site of a former Jupiter temple and a Muslim mosque, and mixes Romanesque and Gothic styles.
Reus Airport is a few kilometres outside the city, while Barcelona El Prat Airport is 90 km away. Tarragona is located near Salou resort, and hotels in the area are also very popular. Whether you need a guest house in the historic centre or a resort on the beach, check out the Tarragona accommodation deals on Booking.com!
Very nice small coastal city. Ramble Nova was fun place to eat/drink/walk, good public transportation, convenient train station, several nice beaches, walkable city, clean sidewalks and streets, friendly and helpful businesses and locals. Welcoming to tourists.

Tarragona was the Roman capital of the Iberian Peninsular so there are a lot of Roman remains, ruins etc. There are also lots of interesting shops and a great market. If you go to the market, look out for the clock at midday.

Tarragona is a beautiful historic city with a lovely coastal backdrop. There are cultural things to do in the town and seaside walks and paella/seafood restaurants by the beach so a great place to combine activities. We've visited three times and been enchanted by the cathedral, local eateries and the countryside. Great to visit with a car or with pets and worth exploring all along the coastline, wetlands to the south and of course more of Catalunya to the North including the famous Sitges en route to Barcelona.

It was easy to walk around and see the sights.
It was easy to walk around and see the sights. Tarragona was a very interesting city. I enjoyed seeing the Mediterranean Sea and the gardens near the old Roman Amphitheatre. I also enjoyed looking at the Roman Circus. We ate at the Forum Restaurant opposite hotel Place de la Font, in the old city square (i.e. Pllace de la Font) . The quality and service at the restaurant was outstanding.
Everything was wonderful, including the breakfasts at hotel de la Font, There is nothing that i would avoid.
Great Hotel in a central location. The Old Town & historical sites are all within walking distance. Staff were very welcoming, helpful & friendly. On arrival we were given a map & advised on the best areas to visit to eat, have breakfast etc, along with some good recommendations. The room was very comfortable & spotlessly clean. There was also a shared kitchen / dining area for use by all guests. Shower good, wi-fi good. We enjoyed staying here & will definitely stay here again when we revisit Tarragona.
The hotel felt new, clean, lovely decor. Room was spacious and had great amenities (desk, big TV, minibar fridge). Staff was helpful and friendly. Breakfast was very very good and was kept well-stocked. Loved the self-serve espresso machine. Location was an easy walk to the Roman ruins. Neighborhood was lovely. Great view of the sea. Grounds were very serene and underground parking a bonus!
We chose the hotel for it's location but the train directly next to the hotel was never the one we needed. The hotel was always swamped with guests trying to check-in and not enough staff. The room was super hot and not that clean. The front desk was okay but the least cheerful or helpful compared to all the other hotels during our two week trip. Sorry but wouldn't recommend.
Xavier, the owner, is an exceptional host - friendly, funny, and helpful with recommendations and directions. The staff overall was kind and welcoming. The hotel is within perfect walking distance of the main city street, old town, beach, and bus station. Communal kitchen supplies and a fridge on the first floor allowed us to prepare our own breakfast on the go in the morning.
The location was perfect-overlooking the beach, with a clear view of the Roman amphitheatre and the old town.
The hotel was very modern and comfortable. The breakfasts were really good-an excellent choice of fruits, pastry, cakes, cooked meat, yoghurt, etc. The roof top bar was lovely with a small pool, shade and a good range of food and drinks,
Staff were excellent.
Absolutely loved our stay at this spacious and very clean apartment! It offered a wonderfully comfortable retreat and the fantastic location in the heart of Tarragona's old city made exploring a delight. The apartment's generous bathroom and ample space were a perfect fit for our group of three. It ensured a comfortable and convenient stay for all of us.
Nice terrace, comfortable couch. Spacious compared to a hotel. It was great having a washing machine in the unit.
Check-in was easy.
Internet was fast and reliable for working remotely.
Lots of good restaurants in a 5 minute radius.
The host was very responsive via Whatsapp.
The stairs helped work off the calories from the delicious restaurants nearby!
Absolutely beautiful apartment, in good location to visit the old city of Tarragona, and a short trip to Barcelona. The apartment was spacious, clean, with an amazing kitchen and bathroom with laundry. It was perfect, as we also walked to the nearby beaches and archaeological sites. Located in a great neighbourhood, close to shops and restaurants.
The hotel is located near the beach, also a naturist beach at walking distance. Despite the hotel has a few years, our stay was very comfortable, with a nice balcony with a view of the ocean. There is also free parking on the premises. Staff was very friendly.
I would give 4* to this hotel. Spotlessly clean. Nice comfy bed and pillows. We had a very good sleep there. Good breakfast with cold cuts and eggs and pastry, good coffee. The amazing beach is in 5 minutes walking distance. Highly recommended!
Location was good. Entrance is more impressive then the hotel side itself. Bed was quite uncomfortable. Front desk was very helpful and bonus is that they did accept a bigger dog as Spain seems to be very not dogwelcoming in general.
Small family run hotel. Very comfortable beds, nice breakfast, nice pool, quiet.A 5 min walk to the beach. Bus stop opposite 1.50€ to the old town. Attentive staff.
Ask for 3rd floor pool/ sea view, 308 on end next to the fire escape.
Lovely hotel, bar, pool. Good location and short walk to old town. Parking available and close to beach. Excellent spacious family room and kids lovely the pool. Nice cocktails from bar. The Mercadona is very close by- 5 mins walk
The location of the hotel is perfect! In the centre of Tarragona near the Rambla, train station and main attractions. We didn’t tried the breakfast but the free coffee in the main hall of the hotel was a nice extra service!
The staff were friendly and helpful.
The breakfast was great.
The hotel was very close to the beach.
Good price.
The rooms were big and clean, we also had a nice view at the beach.
Perfect apartment to visit Tarragona, has everything you need including a nice big shower. Close to the beach and train station. Supermarkets only a few minutes walk away. Great...
Location of the hotel to the beach, historical sites, and city center was exceptional. Eduarde and Carme were so gracious and hospitable, made us feel very welcome.
