Excellent location in Salamanca. Very centrally located and 10 min walk away from all of the major tourist sites and shopping areas. The staff is wonderful and makes you feel welcomed. Accommodations are simple but very clean. The wifi works well throughout the hotel. Definitely a value for the price.

Right next to the Portuguese border, Salamanca has unique architecture including Romanesque, Gothic, Moorish, Renaissance and Baroque monuments. The Old Cathedral dates from the 12th-13th centuries and is joined together with the 16th-century New Cathedral.
One of the most charming squares in Spain, Plaza Mayor is the heart of Salamanca and an excellent example of Baroque architecture. Take a stroll among the sidewalk cafes, cool off with some ice cream or relax in one of the picturesque restaurants.

I compare Salamanca to Oxford steeped in history very afluent beatiful. The culture is centered around the student population with dozens of bars and restaurants. ( not rowdy). Architecture is magnificent so much to see 1 day is not enough.
It is more expensive than anywhere else I have visited in Spain.

Salamanca is a beautiful city with lots of fabulous buildings all within easy walking distance. It also has good restaurants (definitely try Taberna de Libreros) It can be busy when the day trippers arrive but is quieter in the evenings.

Great architecture and friendly atmosphere.
Great architecture and friendly atmosphere. Plenty of bars and restaurants.
It would have been very helpful if menus could have been in English for us as many times we didn’t buy because we didn’t know what we were ordering and the translate app wasn’t good enough at times. Made food ordering laborious and way to difficult at times.

Salamanca is a lovely city and definitely worth a visit.
Salamanca is a lovely city and definitely worth a visit. We stayed 3 night and were able to see everything we wanted without rushing.
It is a walkable city. We came by train and left by bus. We used the local bus only once, and that was to get to our apartment.
We were there during Easter weekend, so reservations are important. Great restaurants and food.
A modern yet characterful hotel in an ideal location for visitors to the beautiful Salamanca. The rooms were excellent and very clean. Breakfast was extensive and well presented. Underground, safe and secure, motorcycle parking. The staff, domestic, catering and reception were all very friendly and happy which makes the hotel a welcoming place. I'd single out Paula on reception who had a welcoming happy smile for all guests. As always, the staff demeanour can elevate the experience for a hotel guest. Unreservedly recommended.
Close to train stop Salamanca-Alamedilla, so , easy to find when coming by train: a big plus.
Early checkin:11:30 a.m.; v friendly helpful lady at reception didn't blink an eye, because a room was ready- even at that time on a Sunday.
Bed great; view of monastery, great; bathroom/shower capsule- great: roomy shower for Spain; windows can open- great; cheery atmosphere everywhere-great. Incl. breakfast had a huge assortment - could please almost everyone.
There was no receptionist but the staff were so friendly and flexible with our breakfast arrangements it was a pleasure to be there. The hotel is full of charm and very quirky, also as a wheelchair user it had one of the best disabled showers ever and was beautifully designed. Salamanca is a n nightmare for parking but there was a disabled space just around the corner.
The staff was really welcoming. After a 12h trip, we were showed a very nice room with a beautiful view. I don’t think we’ve ever stayed in such a nice hotel in the heart of a city. Salamanca is also a very beautiful city. The breakfast was good.
One of the best thing about the place is probably the pool with a view of the cathedral and a pool bar.
We found the hotel clean and most of all super conveniently located close to the Salamanca railway station. The hotel staff were kind to accommodate our bicycles in the underground garage and gave us access to them whenever required. Even though the facilities are rather modest, the staff are exceptionally helpful. Highly recommend for short stays.
Salamanca is a spectacular city worth spending time in, even during freezing February, as we did. The Puerta de la Catedral is wonderfully situated in the old town, facing the cathedral. The room was comfortable, the staff friendly and efficient and the hotel has underground parking as well. It was good value for money. We would stay there again.
It is very handy to break our journey when travelling through Spain - easy to get to from the motorway. Usually on street parking nearby, petrol station over the road to refuel before setting off again. And a short walk to the Roman bridge and the city for exploring and finding somewhere to eat. We had a lovely view from the balcony.
We like staying in this hotel when in Salamanca. Its location is convenient close to the Roman bridge, but away from the masses of visitors in the centre. Access and parking are easy, and the hotel, which has just been refurbished, has clean and comfortable rooms, and friendly, helpful personnel. The price-quality ratio is very good.
I am a very frequent traveller and stayed in more than a hundred 5 star hotels all over the world and I can say that Hotel Rector is easily one of the best. The staff are friendly, helpful and attentive, beds are comfortable and breakfast is fantastic. I wish there is a Hotel Rector and in every city, I will choose no others.
Very nice welcome by the host, who spoke good english. The studio was clean, good design and had everything that we needed. The breakfast was the best we had in Spain, good bread, cheese, fruit, good coffee, eggs, tortilla, sweets and ham. near all the interesting things to see. all the staff was extremly nice.
Spacious bright apartment with a large terrace. We stayed here for one night on a road trip through Spain and we and the kids felt comfortable here. It would be nice to spend more time here.
I liked the easy check-in and free parking.
See above, the man on reception kindly pointed us in the direction of the bus stop and it was an easy ride into town.
We frequently travel to the north of Spain and the hotel is our little treat. Well worth a stay.
Right in the old part of the city, with parking. Javi gave us excellent information before arrival and made sure we found the best restaurants. The apartment was far better than any hotel for our week in the city
The location in the heart of Salamanca is great. The hotel facilities are first class with all the amenities that you would expect from a top hotel. The building is an extremely old building and very quaint.
A great facility for traveling to Salamanca or traveling through Spain as a stop (this is what we did). A bit of a walk till the city center, but free parking which was a plus for us.
- good location in centre of Salamanca
- friendly stuff
- wide variety breakfast
- nice room and big bathroom
- there is parking in the hotel for certain fees
