Reasonable walk to the beach but quite a way from the town although it’s on a bus route. Town ordinary but pleasant. Exmouth a good centre for there are boat trips, buses to Budleigh Salterton and Exmouth as well as to Exeter. Train station in the town with trains to Exeterand to the other side of the estuary, like Dawlish, Teignmouth and even Torquay. The harbour area and sea-front as well as Manor Gardens are attractive. There are other park areas to the east of the town which I didn't explore. Transport links are good with a train service to Exeter, The M5 motorway around 25 minutes away. The leisure centre is well-equipped and has a wide range of classes. Exmouth was a relaxing, family-friendly, destination. We explored the beach and strolling through the town centre. The National Trust properties nearby were nice. We regularly stay there because of its attractive seafront and coastal location and the attraction of nearby towns and cities (Topsham, Exeter, Sidmouth, Torquay, Paignton) and countryside (Haldon hills, Woodbury Common). An excellent holiday centre with activities for all weathers. Well served by buses and a rail connection. We loved walking along the front and then up to Orcombe Point- beautiful views from the south-west coastal path. The nearby National Trust property, A La Ronde is definitely worth a visit- a quirky house built by ladies with an interesting story to tell. Do the free guided tour of the grounds. The hotel is clean, nicely decorated and airy. The staff are really friendly and nothing is too much trouble. The rooms are clean and the beds comfy. There is parking outside.
