Lovely hotel with a lift ( which really helps!) Great location, around the corner from the Main Street. The hotel itself has a lovely outside area to sit and soak up the sun…! The hotel itself has a conservatory where u can sit and eat breakfast and a bar for evening drinks! Prices are reasonable as well which is pretty unusual these days. The owner and staff were lovely, always ready to help.

need to remove the beggars as they are a public nuicance , otherwise it was good , pity loads ofn shops still not re opened but guess thats nationwide now. it would be an idea to divert some of the traffic in lord st to the main road ajacent to the promenade

There seems to be more eating/bar places opening up along...

There seems to be more eating/bar places opening up along lord street which is good because it was starting to look empty. More shops would be good and maybe longer opening hours for some that holiday makers like to browse in. The biggest downfall for us is the pier having closed down and I am sure a lot of people must think the same because it was always busy with people walking the length of the pier and this really does put us off going as often as we would have done. I would not like to walk along lord street on my own after the majority of shops close because it can be a bit intimidating when the doorways start to be taken over with sleeping bags and duvets etc. We have stayed in the Waterfront hotel but not since all the building works started all around it and such a shame the big Hungry Horse there closed down. So finally Southport is not as appealing as it used to be at the moment and fingers crossed it will improve quickly.

We were pleasantly surprised by the size and variety of shops within the town. Lots of lovely little arcades and side streets as well as many big known brands and some independent shops. We loved the old buildings and the walk around the pleasure lake. We were only there for the weekend and could have spent a lot longer exploring. Lots of restaurants and coffee shops to chose from. Southport had authenticity and charm.

Really like Southport, lots for children down at the marina, so many beautiful swans and huge geese😊crazy golf , timber playground, helter skelter and funfair, open green spaces and parks, more than enough shops & supermarkets , great pubs and endless eating places. Trains every 15 mins gets you to Liverpool City and beyond to Chester City and Chester Zoo, take a train or bus to Ormskirk market.

A tired Victorian seaside town that is still, overshadowed by the stoic stature of Queen Victoria, the boulevard Lord Street among others, aping those of Paris struggling to appeal to visitors and the locals alike. Didn't visit the Museum as planned, the Street flowers pots are grey, the flowers are barely springing up inline with the weather. The area around railway station and the Merseyside Rail itself, are in such a sad state, a reflection of the current local poor economy.

We have stayed at the same hotel many times and we particularly like the secure underground carpark for peace of mind and the easy lift access from it to reception and to our room after checking in. The new Restaurant menu is now much improved, so we gave it a try and we were pleasantly contented. Normally in the evening we would eat out at the Grand Brassier or the Vincent. Southport itself has a very pleasant atmosphere and is a nice relaxing place to be.

Considering its Brittanias Hotel, the room was actually OK. The problem was there is a bar with life music opposite and they played music until 3 am. I slept maybe 2 hours. Also, room was too warm, heating was OK even though it was a warm day so we my daughter was waking up every couple of hours because she was thirsty. Location is good if you come to Southport for a "pissup" but of you want to bring a family I si suggest somewhere quiter.

Having passed through Southport previously we stayed at the sister hotel The Prince of Wales which was a disappointment to say the least, old and tired and in need to investment. This stay was quite pleasant you wouldn’t believe they are both Britannia owned. Lovely clean and well kept place. Far nicer position on the sea front. Would stay again if passing through the area.

Nice hotel, very modern with attractive decor and in good repair. Lovely, comfy Queensize bed. Overall excellent and perfect if you're in Southport for an event or evening out. Breakfast was across the road at the sister hotel, The Bold, which is also very nicely designed and maintained. Breakfast was extremely nice and generous portions.

The hotel is a short walk from the main road so you don't get any of traffic noise, there is on road parking outside the hotel. The room was very clean, bed was soft and the towels felt very luxurious, very friendly and accommodating staff. Definitely a go to whenever we stay in Southport in the future :)
