A good selection of independent shops and restaurants. Good views over the Wye valley and a small friendly theatre. Relatively unspoilt.

Rather disappointed.
Rather disappointed. Town looked tired and had seen better days. Difficult to walk along the river for all the bushes. Having said that, it did rain every day and nowhere looks good unless the sun shines

Lovely little town with fascinating architecture and some wonderful views over the River Wye and the valley. The locals were very welcoming. We went in to the church, and although a service was just about to start the vicar went out of his way to make us welcome.
Very welcoming and helpful host. Super location close to the town and pubs. Also super convenient for the 2 day canoe trip I was on as it's only 5 min walk from the halfway stop off point. The hotel has a very rustic feel and original features harking back to its origins, which as the host told me are from the 1600 to 1400's! Super place to stay and if I'm ever coming back to Ross in the future definitely somewhere I'd look to book again. Fantastic price point for the hospitality you receive.
Dinner, lovely present food. Steak was the best I have ever tasted. Good spacing of tables. Lovely decorated restaurant. Sat in the conservatory for breakfast.
Bedroom was light, 2 windows, situated at the front of the Inn, with views of the countryside, rolling fields and view of castle.
Enjoyed a drink or two outside the front under a brolly as it was a hot weekend.
Plenty of parking.
Orles Barn is an exceptional hotel. Roxy and Matt are the nicest, kindest people you will ever meet. The food (Matt is the chef) is quite simply the best I've tasted in any hotel anywhere! You will be treated like royalty at the hands of Roxy, who is such a warm and genuine person. I LOVE staying here and cannot recommend Orles Barn highly enough.
Great location in town. View from the bar terrace is beautiful, yet you're so close to the town centre.
We had a superior room and it was very large, good sized ensuite too.
The hotel building is full of character and original features.
Excellent breakfast and selection of food.
Staff all gave excellent service, very welcoming and friendly
The standard throughout the traditional property. the cleanliness and condition of the hotel. The bedrooms were of a high standard of decor ,condition and presentation. Without doubt the staff were outstanding in all departments. Set in the heart of the lovely town of Ross on Wye. What more could you ask of a hotel. Congratulations!!
The location was perfect for exploring Symonds Yat, Ross on Wye, Forest of Dean and surrounding area. The cottage was a very comfortable, relaxing retreat, exceptionally dog friendly. The artwork and sculptures at the Gallery are wonderful as is the hot chocolate and lemon drizzle cake.
A very quaint and quiet little hotel with friendly and thoughtful and welcoming owners. Easy parking , comfy individual rooms with lots of nice touches. Great location for getting into Ross on Wye. Lovely views from our top floor rooms. We enjoyed our one night stay there.
Fabulous hosts with a warm welcome. Perfectly located within easy walking distance to the the town centre, great selection for breakfast. Great room with super-comfortable bed. Pet friendly with wonderful large gardens and riverside pub across the road.
Breakfast was excellent felt sorry for the staff having to run up and down stairs serving food. Location was very good as the town 300 yards away just as it was uphill from hotel other than that position great also over looking the river.
Fantastic location, right in the town centre, walking distance to shops / bars / river etc. Ritchie was very communicative and responsive. The accommodation had everything you needed and was very quaint.
Riverside location is lovely and only a short 5min walk to the town centre. Room was very clean, quiet and nicely furnished. Breakfast was fantastic, plenty of options and high quality ingredients.
Very old building. Has its charm. Clean, comfortable bed, friendly staff, nice bar. On site parking area, but you will need good driving skills to get inside, very tight entrance.
Excellent little hotel tucked away on the edge of Ross. Super comfy and well appointed rooms, beautiful garden area and a super breakfast.
Really friendly welcome.
