Wat een prachtige plek!! Niets zo fijn als wakker worden met alleen maar vogelgeluiden. We hebben echt genoten, zeker voor herhaling vatbaar.

Property info

A beautiful woodland glampsite surrounded by wonderful countryside in the Wessex Downs on the Hampshire Berkshire border. Completely dog friendly we welcome groups couples and families. We have two cute vintage style pods set around an enormous brick built firepit with 3 huge themed bell tents scattered around the woodland and private bathrooms right next door. All you need for a self catering stay is provided including bedding towels all cooking eating and washing up equipment, no need to bring bottled water as everything on site is drinking water. Although we provide everything you need for a comfortable glamping stay, we stay true to the camping vibe by drawing our guests outside with our firepits, bathrooms right next door, fun pull our z beds for the children to make themselves and private outdoor seating areas, private under cover cooking areas with gas stove and charcoal BBQ and oodles of beautiful woodland to explore. We are perfectly situated just off the A34 near the market towns of Hungerford and Newbury with lots of local attractions such as farm parks and museums for children and adults alike, wonderful walks and hikes through beautiful countryside, 5 great dog friendly pubs within walking distance only 45 minutes from London and the south coast. We are a 5 minute drive from Highclere Castle (aka Downton Abbey and Watership Down. Come and meet our animals, the ducks geese chickens and peacocks, our dogs Bellie the baby Whippie Tony the GD and Flash the miniature sausage. Staying at Hollington is not just accommodation, it's a whole outdoor experience without the fuss of camping! Come and experience the dark of the AONB one of the last dark places in England without light pollution and gaze at the night sky in our star gazing clearing. Toast marshmallows around the fire, listen to the owls hooting and chill, away from the normal hustle and bustle of life.

Neighborhood info

Set in 10 acres of semi-ancient woodland on the Hampshire Berkshire border is our small and unique glamping site, just 45 minutes from London. We have two sweet little vintage styled pod cabins set in a magical woodland clearing and 3 huge bell tents dotted about the woodland through clearings and paths. The woodland is half manicured with maze like paths to explore and half wild where you can build dens and spot the wildlife. The woodland is peaceful and magical, full of wildlife surrounded by countryside. Our village has a church, village hall where the monthly farmers market is held on the last Saturday of each month, shop, post office and five pubs within varying walking distances from 0,8 miles to 3.8 miles for the more adventurous!. There are many local attractions such a Finkley Down farm park, 4 kingdoms, the living rain forest and Downton Abbey aka Highclere Castle and various museums and outdoor attractions. We are 15 minutes away from the Bombay Sapphire distillery nr the sweet village of Overton. At the top of Beacon Hill you have panoramic views into Berkshire Hampshire and Wiltshire where you can also look down onto Highclere Castle and over to Watership Down. The fifth Earl of Carnarvon who discovered Tutankhamun's tomb also has his burial place up there. Glampers have full access to the woodland to explore. Each pod has electricity with fridge kettle and toaster and contains everything needed for a luxury self-catering glamping stay. The tents are off grid so have log burning stoves and whistling kettle. There are many walks and hikes through the beautiful surrounding countryside and we are near the market towns of Newbury and Hungerford which have an array of independent teashops, shops, pubs and bars including all the normal ammenities. Both towns sit on the Kennet and Avon canal and the Kennet river where you can catch an amazing horse drawn barge trip! It is advisable to travel by car, however there is public transport available.
