Lovely picturesque town, plenty of shops etc
Lovely picturesque town, plenty of shops etc
Down side absolutely shockingly no transport!!!
You have to get a cab and that was almost impossible, they really need to improve transport links, I had to book a cab from abergavenny which cost a small fortune just to be able to catch train home.
It's better if you drive

From the town with independent shops to the breathtaking walks this is a lovely place to spend some time to take in the Welsh scenery. There is plenty of parking and places to stay and prices are reasonable. The museums and community centres are not to be missed.

Our visit to Brecon was to meet friends and celebrate a milestone birthday. We had a fantastic bit short trip and regretted not having more time to explore the town more as well as the local countryside.

Spent two whole days sightseeing in brecon itself.
Spent two whole days sightseeing in brecon itself. Other days went out to visit, wales ape and monkey sanctuary, Henrhyd waterfalls were well worth the walk down the shale track, visited Blaenavon mining museum and visited Aberfan. Each route had ideal motorcycling road and spectacular countryside views. There are also other places to visit but did not have time to visit them all. Would recommend the area for views and for walkers, lovely spots for picnics. Absulutely fantastic

The hotel was clean neat and tidy.
The hotel was clean neat and tidy. The people on reception were polite & courteous. The restaurant food was good.
There is no service between lunch and dinner - so it means a trip out if you need a snack.
I was using the hotel as a half way stop so didn’t explore the area.. sorry.
This was a perfect location to stay for a short break in the Brecon Beacons. 5 minutes outside Brecon the farmhouse is in a beautiful bucolic setting. As you enjoy the tasty, freshly made, full English you can gaze over the foothills of the Beacons and watch the chickens, guinea fowl and black sheep just outside the window. Throughout the stay I was well looked after by the hosts and nothing was too much trouble. My room was clean and cosy - I slept like a log! The bathroom was immaculate and spacious with a powerful shower.
Mount Street House was perfect for our stay, celebrating 20th wedding anniversary we wanted to explore Beacons but come back to lovely cosy little bit of luxury and for that it was perfect treat. Great location, 2 min from town and easy drive for any of the famous walks.
Breakfast was beyond my expectations- really really good!
Everything worked so well and effortlessly, WiFi, tv, great bath, breakfast order & delivery... little extras like surprise nightcap drink waiting for us resulted in great night sleep! :)
Quiet, peaceful, cosy place to stay, very clean and tidy. Great to act as a station to explore Beacons Brecon area.
Bus T4 from Merthyr Tydfil Bus Station will take you directly to the hostel in 20 minutes. Please refer to Stagecoach website and check the bus time, the service runs between Brecon and it's very reliable.
Awesome place, fantastic people, wonderful nature. Would love to try the pod for the next stay!
This Inn has the perfect location for discovering Brecon Beacons. It is very conveniently located, making it easy to access hikes, to visit local restaurants and pubs. But what stood out the most is the hospitality received from Gail; throughout our stay, she went above and beyond to help make our stay perfect. She has such a fantastic energy and it made our experience in Wales unforgettable. Thank you!
Stayed here for 2 nights visiting the Brecon Beacons, was perfect really - the host is very kind and accommodating (and has a lovely cat :D). Good size bedroom, comfy, and clean - as is the bathroom/kitchen (shared) and little conservatory/dining area you get for yourself. Quiet and peaceful too. Not far from Brecon itself either for shops/food. Bonus point parking spot around the back off the road.
staff were very friendly, full breakfast cooked perfectly and service with a smile by possibly the friendliest and nicest person we met in Wales. (she was also smoking hot, which was helpful).
The room was ok, a little creaky but what do you expect.
the area was nice after a long ride though the Brecon beacons on our bikes we found a nice place top eat as we were a little late for the hotel.
The location of the lodge is fantastic - super short, 10 minute walk into the Main Street of Brecon. Also it is very close to the T4 bus stop which takes you to the trail head of Pen-y-fan (at storey arms). Pete is very helpful and tries to make the stay enjoyable - he also recommended a great restaurant!!
We had a room in the annex which was nice and spacious with a small kitchen and a dining area/sitting room downstairs, and bedroom and bathroom upstairs. Cooked breakfast was very good. Beautiful surroundings. All the shops and restaurants of town centre were very near. Short walk to bus stops.
it was spacious, welcoming, and conveniently located. the kitchen was well equipped and the owner left breakfast on the counter and milk in the fridge. Great communication before, during and after our stay. We loved being right next to the river. wished we could have stayed longer.
Brecon isn’t a big place so everywhere in the village is within walking distance. Christine is fantastic. She’ll help you with anything you need.
The room was comfortable, clean and had everything we needed.
Breakfasts were fantastic.
The Longhouse at Hilltops Cottages was an absolutely perfect place for us (2 couples) to stay and explore the Brecon area. Wonderful location just outside of Brecon town. Spacious, well equipped, clean and quite cozy.
Couldn't fault the stay at all. The rooms were spacious, clean and modern. Bed was super comfy. Breakfast was excellent. Hosts were very welcoming and accommodating. I would definitely recommend staying here.
The overall feel of the hotel. The friendly staff. The location.
This was the second time we've stayed, though the 1st time in the actual hotel as we were in the courtyard rooms previously.
Beautiful house and setting
Wonderful comfortable bed and everything needed in beautiful bedroom
Very friendly hosts and amazing breakfast with home grown produce
Nice and near to Brecon
The room was very clean, comfortable and quiet. Lovely shower. Breakfast was great with lots of choice. Location was really good, within walking distance of Brecon town centre.
Large and spacious rooms to spread out luggage and relax. Center of village location. Ice cream store and small grocery just down the steps and around the corner.
Welcoming staff, comfortable spacious room, historic building, excellent breakfast available, very good location for exploring the Welsh/English border country.
