Fab stay only negative was that I booked this as a surprise and on arrival told if we had not booked a table we could not get food as fully booked which I understand but could have offered to order food still and take to room if needed

Excellent rural location in the centre of a range of visits and activities. A number of rural pubs (Tankersville Arms, Pack Horse Inn) within a few miles provided excellent food and ambience so not short of food and drink and things to do. Fitted our need perfectly.

Lots of lovely clean stretches of beach walks and interesting areas to visit.
Cragside House was a fantastic day, give yourself the whole day to look around the house and grounds.
Bamburgh Castle well worth a visit, need at least 4-5 hours and then can walk down from there to the beautiful beach.

We always go up to this area every year mostly Beadnell it's a fantastic area to explore the cabins are fine place to stop in but if you like peace and quiet don't book as the ball is a popular wedding venue which for us later on the night became quite noisy would have been better on a Sunday maybe . What you could not fault was the amazing breakfast at the joiners arms Ellsworth a vist

Excellent base for visiting Alnwick, Lindisfarne and walking parts of the England Coastal Path. Embleton Bay and a visit to Craster to buy locally sourced and smoked kippers, and call at the Jolly Fisherman are a must!
I was expecting a room in a hotel but found we were in a cabin in the grounds and the hotel was not open to us. It was like Marie Celeste when we went to have an evening drink in the bar and the restaurant was of not open. We had adequate food at the pub which is accessed down a muddy path. More clarity needed with descriptions of the facilities and a proper path to get to the pub would improve the experience. In the pub the staff were friendly, attentive and cheerful but the chef needs to hold off on the truffle oil!
The Hotel is in an excellent Northumberland location; it is a most impressive building in lovely well kept grounds. Our room was large & very well appointed with a very spacious bathroom and such a good, large deep bath. Staff were most friendly & helpful. The breakfast was varied and of very good quality. We enjoyed our stay there, though perhaps a little more expensive than we would have liked.
Lovely spacious room with massive bathroom with a welcoming underfloor heating. Nice tea / coffee tray and great views across the fields. Breakfast was excellent and staff were very attentive and welcoming. Although food menus are limited both bar and restaurant, the food is outstanding and service was excellent. The hotel has lots of charm and there is lots of rooms to explore and sit in.
The staff were friendly and very helpful. Beautiful location and dog friendly. Loved the beautifully decorated room and it was super clean. Great parking near room and a buggy took our luggage, so that was an added bonus.
We stayed here as we attended a wedding in a venue nearby.
Location is stunning, the hotel is set in lovely grounds. Really peaceful.
Breakfast was lovely and staff were very friendly.
The breakfast brought to room was perfect and catered for vegan request perfectly. The best hotel breakfast we’ve ever had. It was also great to have lots of toiletries to use.
Enjoyed our garden room, especially the patio. Staff were all friendly and helpful. Breakfasts at the Jojners Arms were outstanding. Beach walks from the hotel lovely.
We stayed in the Shepherds hut which was beautiful with the bonus of having the only onsite parking spot. Feels quite secluded from the pub/hotel which was nice.
beautiful hotel with amazing scenery to match.
Doxford never disappoints. We try and visit doxford every year as it’s one of our favourite places to visit
Excellent little place to stay, so much better than a b&b or hotel. Gorgeous setting and well presented accommodation. Id highly recommend staying here.
