Good value for the price. Lovely setting right up from the beach. The staff was super helpful. The kitchen stayed open for us, and the food was quite good. We felt at home there. The beach is beautiful and there's a nice, casual restaurant/bar right at the entrance to the beach which is a great hangout.

Good rooms with air con and hot water. Nice sitting area on the restaurant terrace in front of the pool.
Quiet location 15 minutes walking distance to a quiet beach and 10 minutes taxi (for GMD 200) to Senegambia.
Decent breakfast.
Wifi works even though not fast and unstable.

The lodges are comfortable with ensuite bathroom and shower.
The lodges are comfortable with ensuite bathroom and shower. There isn't AC but was plenty comfortable enough with a ceiling fan. There is hot running water in the room when you need to have a warm shower although most of the time I took a cool shower. I moved here from one of the 'Hotel Castles by the Sea' that were overcrowded and overpriced for the standard of accommodation there. Kotu Island lodge presents a friendly, personal and quiet atmosphere. You can chat with Terry, the owner who is a very nice man. True Gent! Its only a few minutes walk to the beach and you get the great atmosphere of living in amongst the community. I wholly recommend a stay here. Thak you Terry. You are a great host.

Everything was perfect but there is little chance to come...
Everything was perfect but there is little chance to come back because of the most boring people in Africa you will meet on street on the sunbeds, on the beach, in the supermarket. My brother, my family, one big family, they have no work and they dont want to work, just to bother you. Old laidies like that attention which is awful to see

Lovely beachside with many cafes and restaurants within walking distance.
Friendly locals and nice relaxed atmosphere.
Raggainights on fridays at Dominos on the beach are musts. Begin the evening at the restaurant “Jamaica” nearby.
Make sure to visit the chrokodile pool in Bakau and the market in Serakunda.
For easy transportations use the green taxis.
We loved the property. It is really well taken care of, there is attention to detail. The gardens are wonderful, the staff very friendly. There is a charming restaurant next to the property. It is an oasis of calm. The bed was comfortable, it was good to have mosquito nets at the window so that they stay opened at night, the swimming pool although small was great with sun lounger with padding, the food is good, the massage next door very good, We had a wonderful enjoyable restful week at Bakotu.
Attractive looking hotel. Facing nice stretch of beach. Ample sized room with balcony. Had to take breakfast in sister hotel next door due to Covid cutbacks. It’s just a five minute walk to Kunta Kinteh beach bar which is open till late for dinner; also can arrange nice birdwatching tour at nearby Kotu Creek (Reception can phone the Birdwatchers’ Assn office for you to organise it).
Fantastic location 30m from wonderful Kotu beach and Ali Baba leisure beds & beach bar...comfortable basic rooms (fab Grohe rain shower in ours) and with a lovely pool. Gardens with birds, monkeys and a few cats, not forgetting the giant tortoises. Woken each morning to the sonorous notes of the Bulbuls. Food OK albeit service sometimes slow...allowance, this is Gambia! 😄
Loved the layout. Friendly service. I booked my initial reservation online and when I showed up they didn't have anymore rooms available, so I was turned away. I rebooked for a few days later. I enjoyed my stay, but I thought the walls were very dirty for this level of hotel. Everything else was good. Nice menu offerings for both dinner and breakfast.
It is a decent hotel, and good value for money if you are traveling on budget. They have a nice pool area and are not too far away from Senegambia where you can find lots of bars, restaurants, a craft market and some shops with local crafts. They had a nice breakfast buffet in the mornings.
Well situated in Kotu almost on the beach. Rooms were of a good size and had A/C & beds were comfortable. Breakfast available from 7,00am which was important for us because we were out on bird watching tours each morning at 7,30. WiFi fast at bar / reception area
The pool and view from the hotel are amazing. I had an upstairs pool facing room and got it at a reduced rate due to it being "off season" so found that good value. Rooms are spacious and have safe, fridge and nice balcony.
The hotel is well positioned, very convenient. Roughly 100 meters from the beach and the main highway going to banjul The staff is exceptional, from the security guards to the cleaners. It is very quiet with a nice pool.
Exceptional staff, everyone was super friendly and helpful! The food was good and reasonably priced. Within walking distance to the beach. Look up the address on Google Maps, Booking.com is one street off at the moment.
The beach was beautiful, and we saw some washed up jellyfish and a blowfish. The pool area was nice, and I enjoyed seeing the acrobats. The food at the restaurant was delicious! The staff were friendly and helpful.
Food was good, the layout of the hotel was good and spacious and seating was comfortable. The beds were very comfortable. The whole experience was very relaxing and enjoyable.
