The furniture, the atmosphere, the homemade breakfast
Ios Chora is the main town on the island of Ios. It's full of friendly local people, and a mix of expats who have made their homes there, or who visit year after year because of the island's ambience. My stay was over the Easter period, which in itself is a marvelous opportunity to observe or partake in the ages-old traditions of the Greek Orthodox religion. Later in the year, as the temperatures heat up, the town welcomes a much younger crowd, as bars and nightclubs open up to transform Ios into "party island"!

Ios is a beautiful island.
Ios is a beautiful island. The beaches, the food, the people, the buildings, the scenery, the nightlife, the chill factor but most of all the overall vibe is the best of any of the Greek islands I have visited and I can’t wait to go back there. The boat trip taking you to the 6 beaches is amazing with snorkelling thrown in. The square and its bars is a must. Sunsets in various location are stunning and the local traditional restaurants provide amazing food at reasonable prices

October was a very out of season time to visit Ios, most bars, restaurants and shops were closed so there was not much to do in the main town. The buses had stopped doing all routes apart from 3 stops.

Chora is the only one village on the whole island, very pitoresc and full of small streets with lot of shops, bars and restaurants. There are a number of beaches on the Island, worth to visit and very good accessible by car. best of all for sure the Koumbara Bay with the perfect sunbeds and great service, not cheap but worth each penny!
We really enjoyed our holidays in Mare Blue. The hotel is very well located, close to the beach and the port area. Maria and her family were really sweet to us and even offered us some traditional greek food they had cooked. Ios chora is about 20' walking and you have to climb some stairs, but you can always take the bus, which has a nice frequency.
The Hotel is like an actual little village. The room was beautiful and super clean, the view incredible. The employees were some of the nicest and most attentive I have encountered in a while. It’s a short walk to the port and Chora but still quite and peaceful. I would a hundert percent stay here again
So close to the port and just a bus ride into the main city. The pool is so well maintained, I actually enjoyed being at the pool more than the beach. Kind staff, and felt safe as a female traveler here. The restaurant right in front of the hotel on the docks in incredible if you get a chance.
This was my favourite place in all the hotels we stayed in! Really cosy! The staff were amazing especially Pantelis who was so welcoming and friendly. There is such a friendly environment and the pool is just fabulous. I will certainly be returning in the future. Best hotel on the Island!
Great location. The staffs was nice, you could buy ferry ticket and car rental in the lobby. The hotel is short walk from ferry port and public bus to main town or beach. Many restaurants and store nearby. Great value for the stay. We had a balcony room to watch sunset every day!
The location of the hotel was perfect. It had great views of the Chora but far enough away that the late night music didn't keep you up all night. Breakfast was great. Staff was great. They were friendly as can be.
The view from my room was absolutely stunning! The hotel is located quite close to the city and to one of the most famous beaches in the island, and the room was very clean and well kept, albeit simple.
Pool & room were clean and the hotel was beautiful. Friendly staff and really good location. 1 bus right outside the hotel and cost only 2 euro to get up to the town for food and drinks
This location took me by surprise. The views were incredible! The friendly staff, the rooms, the cleanliness of every inch, the breakfast! I absolutely recommend this hotel to everyone.
There are stunning views from this beautifully landscaped hotel which has spacious well appointed rooms and is run by a lovely fun couple. Free ferry pick up and drop off was a bonus.
The view from the hotel is phenomenal. Lo9vely pool with a great pool bar and view to die for. Our room (19) was very spacious with a lovely outdoor area. Breakfast was a great.
Enjoyed sunset view from hotel, perfect pool.
Friendly host.
