I can't comment on Piraeus as a destination in its own right. Like most people I pass through it on the way to or from a ferry. It's a convenient place to overnight but isn't the most attractive part of Athens.

A tip is to get a ticket for the Acropolis then go back later. There was a long line to get in once we got to the top, the wait time was 3 hours to enter. We were not able to enter.

Piraeus is a work-a-day town with nothing special to see.
Piraeus is a work-a-day town with nothing special to see. The main reason people stay here is to take the ferry or a cruise ship. We stayed at the Glaros Hotel, which is a basic accommodation that I would not stay at again. I recommend staying in Athens or another local town.

Disregard comment on missing items from bag previously made.
Disregard comment on missing items from bag previously made. They reviewed footage and no one touched my bag. So it must have been in Athens when some souvenirs were taken. Loved the location of this hotel and the staff were incredibly helpful and kind.

This was a lively city with plenty of restaurants and cafes. It was a good place to stay after the ferry from Mykonos. The Archaeological Museum was good as was the harbour walk. There were many beautiful churches.

We enjoyed our stay in an apartment in Piraeus not far from...
We enjoyed our stay in an apartment in Piraeus not far from the port entrance. The port is a very busy and very big area, it took us a while to find our way round as there are very few directional signs in English. It makes it hard to find things initially. We had to ask directions a lot and some locals treated us poorly with eye rolling, etc. while they explained directions to us like we were children. Once you get it worked out though it is a great way to do a bit of island hoping. We went on day trips to Paros, Hydra and Aegina. Loved them all.
Hospitality staff in restaurants and cafes in Piraeus were great, very friendly and helpful. Great service everywhere we went.
The area is not very attractive though as it is a working waterfront and as with everywhere in Greece there is so much graffiti. So sad that a city with such incredible history is so badly defaced. Overall it was a great stay though.
Room was newly done, did book 2 double rooms but got given a twin. Staff very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was disappointing unless you like bread or toast with no butter, there was cereal and cooked with vegetables.
Had dinner which was lovely good choice sit in or out.
Hotel booked taxi to airport sadly the driver had awful bo which was not nice for an hours drive and charged us more that a taxi from the street. Charged us 60 euros even thoigh the meter said 52 euros.
This hotel was in perfect location for overnight stay. Close to ferry, metro and bus to airport , just a few minutes walk from all.
It was clean and functional . The bed was comfortable enough ,mattress seemed fairly new .The shower and air conditioning were good , worked well (essential in very hot Athens) ,everything was clean . 24 hour reception was useful if late arriving from ferries or flight. Cafes were nearby for breakfast.
We had two rooms with this reservation so I'll take the opportunity to thank the staff again for their assistance. The rooms were available so they let us check in a little early which was very welcome after 16 hours of traveling and limited sleep on the overnight plane. The hotel rooms were comfortable. Cozy but clean and with all necessary amenities. Close to the Marina Zea for our boat trip the next day.
The service was exceptional . Maria, at reception helped us with our airline lost bags . She went above and beyond to assist us with our trip . The hotel arranged for private transfer from Athens airport to their hotel , which went without a hitch. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone wanting a seamless transfer from Athens airport to the ferries out to the Greek islands.
Achillion was a perfect hotel to stay in the night before an early boat to Naxos the following day. Only around 5 or 6 min walk to the port (and less than a 10 min walk from Dimotiko Theatro train station where you get to direct from Athens airport), it was great value for money, very clean and the staff were super-friendly. Highly recommended.
Close to the port and the metro station. Was an old style Hotel but had all the basic anemities. I was travelling alone so the room I had was big enough. 24 hour reception, someone always available and helpful at the front desk. Great value especially for a quick stay for me coming and going to and coming back from different Aegean islands.
Very modern hotel, excellent rooms and location, fantastic included breakfast (you can order a la carte whatever you like), wonderful location in Kastella (Piraeus) overlooking harbor and Gulf of Athens. A spectacular top floor bar and restaurant (where you get breakfast) with indoor and outdoor tables, great service.
The suite was fantastic and the sea view was amazing I liked my staying there, very clean, the stuff very helpful
But actually make sure when you book that you are in Pireas not in athens because it is far from Athens but there are a public transportation very close to the hotel
We stayed here for what amounts to 6 hours to transition from Athens Airport to board a ferry at the Piraeus Port. The hotel was adequate for the task. Took about 5 minutes to get to the port the next morning. A no frills hotel, it was clean and served its purpose.
We had an early ferry the next day and needed to be near the port. The hotel was 100 meters away. The breakfast buffet was amazing. Staff was friendly and helpful. The hotel is 4 months old. We had a corner room with big windows that was light and airy.
Clean, nice and spacious room with all the necessary facilities. Kind and helpful staff. The neighborhood of the hotel is outside of the hustle and bustle of the city center offering a better quality of accommodation in Athens.
Staff, location, breakfast were all great for a one night stopover connecting island ferry and a flight from Athens airport (and the reverse). The hotel was spotlessly clean, though showing it's age.
Lovely , clean , modern hotel near all major attractions , shops, cafe , restaurants. Close to Piraeus port for ferry access to Greek islands .
Fantastic staff are extremely helpful and attentive.
Great stay excellent location for the port hotel very classical Greek , excellent staff .Will use the hotel again and recommend . Excellent value for money .
