We enjoyed our stay in an apartment in Piraeus not far from the port entrance. The port is a very busy and very big area, it took us a while to find our way round as there are very few directional signs in English. It makes it hard to find things initially. We had to ask directions a lot and some locals treated us poorly with eye rolling, etc. while they explained directions to us like we were children. Once you get it worked out though it is a great way to do a bit of island hoping. We went on day trips to Paros, Hydra and Aegina. Loved them all.
Hospitality staff in restaurants and cafes in Piraeus were great, very friendly and helpful. Great service everywhere we went.
The area is not very attractive though as it is a working waterfront and as with everywhere in Greece there is so much graffiti. So sad that a city with such incredible history is so badly defaced. Overall it was a great stay though.

A bustling harbour and marina area of downtown Athens.
A bustling harbour and marina area of downtown Athens. We loved it as being near the Zea Marina meant lots of nightlife and amazing super yachts etc. It had a good family feel with people out and about safely having fun till quite late. You could access public transport to get into Athens centre easily and I would say this is a good a place to stay if not better due to ability to swim and see some quieter parts beyond the central tourist areas. It also meant accessing trips to the Islands was easy as they mainly left from the marinas, and if you wanted a ferry or cruise these were also nearly at the port the other side of the peninsula.

We stayed near the marina which had lots of quaint restaurants. It was easy to walk around and enjoy. The hop-on hop-off bus stop was right outside our hotel and provided easy access to Athens without all the headaches of staying in Athens. Since we were taking a cruise, this hotel was easily accessible to the cruise terminal and the hotel staff took care of all our arrangements.

Our host was amazing.
Our host was amazing. She was such a great facilitator and helped us find everything that we needed. She was just more than cordial. She even helped us find a plug that we needed in the town nearby. Shelters find our way to the train and I have it was a very nice clean, happy place and about a 20 minute cab ride to the port with the cruise ships, she was amazing
Stayed at the Piraeus Port hotel for 1 night when arriving from the islands on route to Athens airport. The hotel is ideal for that purpose, it is a short walk from both the port and the metro and train stations. The hotel has been renovated throughout and I found the room comfortable, with plenty of power outlets and complementary tea/coffee. Breakfast was a fantastic buffet with cold and hot options for only 10 euros. Finally, the staff on reception were very helpful and friendly. Would absolutely
stay again.
We stayed at The Alex one night as we landed in Athens late and had a ferry ride in the morning. The hotel arranged our pick up from the airport and also to the port. The hotel was beautiful! We were upgraded unexpectedly at arrival and we had a beautiful view. The shower was amazing especially after a 12 hr travel day. We also had a nice breakfast in the morning at the rooftop before heading out. I definitely recommend The Alex!
This was the nicest hotel we stayed in during our trip. After staying in three other hotels that were rated over 8+ on Bookingcom (with uncomfortable beds), we stayed at the Hotel Triton on our last evening in Greece. The staff was cordial and helpful with restaurant recommendations. The location was perfect and the beds and sheets were amazingly comfortable.
We stayed a total of 4 stays and 5 nights at this hotel on this trip.
Constantinos, Marios, Demetria (owners) and the entire staff were very helpful and friendly!
Very nice room (very clean) and facilities; very good breakfast.
Excellent location, especially for the ferry port.
Hope to return to Greece, will definitely stay here again!
Comfy family room. Staff immediately provided us water and checked us in for our ferry next day. Also arranged transfer to the port to avoid the heat. Excellent service 👏
Would highly recommend this hotel and delighted we booked it for our return to Athens after the islands
This hotel was the perfect landing spot for the night before boarding my cruise. It was clean and comfortable and convenient to the port terminal. No breakfast, but there were several places to pick up a pastry and coffee in the morning. Good value for the budget traveler.
Perfect location near the port for a stopover when travelling out to the islands. A comfortable hotel with helpful and friendly staff. A good variety of food for breakfast at a reasonable price. There is also a rooftop restaurant which is also reasonably priced
We wanted to stay close to the Piraeus Port since we were leaving on a cruise. The hotel was very nice. There's an above-ground pool on the top floor. The room was very nice and clean. Easy walking to shops and restaurants and about a 15 min walk to the Metro.
Perfect location for when you're coming back by ferry from an island in Greece. It's 5 minutes by car from the port, you can also walk if you're not tired. Love the hotel, super clean and the staff were super respectful and nice.
Clean, nice and spacious room with all the necessary facilities. Kind and helpful staff. The neighborhood of the hotel is outside of the hustle and bustle of the city center offering a better quality of accommodation in Athens.
One mile from the ferry port, we stayed one night on way back to Athens. Great hotel for the price. Room was clean spacious and comfortable. Some local taverns and super market in walking distance.
I booked the hotel as a night stopover in Athens.
Very close to the port, good size room and clean bathroom.
Excellent breakfast in the morning and the guy at reception was exceptional.
Check-in was easy. The staff was friendly. The hotel is very clean and comfortable. I would definitely stay here again. The location is very close to the port.
good location. we needed to be near the port. very noisy because of street noise. not within the hotel. could be a little cleaner. staff was very friendly.
