This hotel was absolutely breathtaking. The room was amazing with a water view and our terrace. The staff was amazing, the food was absolutely delicious, and the weather was gorgeous while we were there. We felt like royalty at this resort. Everyone was very friendly and accommodating to whatever we needed. I chose to include breakfast with our stay, and I believe this is the best decision I could have made outside of extending our stay by another day. :)

We were in Ydra only 3 nights and loved Hotel Leto! We walked up from the port, and were able to find it
very easily. We were greeted by Dimitri, and made to feel welcome right away. I booked a gorgeous room with a balcony, which we used the whole time we were there. The bed was very comfortable, so slept well every night. The available amenities in the room covered everything. The Ferragamo shampoo, conditioner and lotions were a nice touch. The recommendations for restaurants were excellent, and we were glad we followed them. The staff made themselves available for any questions. The breakfast was excellent and served in their outdoor courtyard.

Great location just steps away from the port. Our room was on the back side of the hotel and was very comfortable and quiet. There is a great self service kitchen for coffee, tea, and juice in the morning with the nicest balcony overlooking the port. Wonderful views and George, the proprietor, is very nice and helpful making sure you have a great stay.
This charming hotel is located in the heart of Hydra and offers comfortable accommodations with breakfast included and free wireless internet access in the business center.

Hydra is a beautiful small Greek island. The town will get busy in peak season, but as we were out of season it was perfect. The harbor is very pretty with lots of tavernas to try (the best ones are in the lanes behind the harbor).
The path along the coast is beautiful and gives access to a few beaches. Head beyond Kamini for the better ones. Sea taxi from town will drop you off, although we walked everywhere. Vlychos and Kamini Beaches were our favorites.
The walking is stunning, especially the Western route anti-clockwise taking you to the top and monastery. Hydra-Trails gives clear maps and directions.
Food was lovely and lots of classic Greek cuisine. Fresh fish also fab with lots of restaurants offering a catch of the day. Wander out of the main town for some real treats. Kodylenia and Christina were both lovely and near villa. In the main town our favorites were Kryfo Limano and Kai Kremmidi. EU Bakery had some lovely treats and Manna Restaurant for proper Giros.
We loved the island for its relaxed vibe and slow pace.

Beautiful town to decompress and slow down.
Beautiful town to decompress and slow down. There’s not that much to do but that’s the beauty of it. Anywhere you eat will be excellent or at the very least above par so there’s no disappointment there.
Definitely my favourite of all my destinations so far (minus the ferry experience - they always seem to run late)

Unusual island for Greece due to no cars, motorbikes allowed—we loved it. (Donkeys and mules carry heavy loads) Small city of Idra totally walkable. Fantastic small restaurants there especially a block or so away from the port. Expect to pay more for water taxis to get to other parts of the island. Be sure to visit nearby cultural-art focused centers/museums. 2-3 days max unless you want quiet and privacy to write your novel or compose music. Clothing and souvenir shops are much more expensive than 10 islands we have visited over the years. No airport also keeps tourist # lower than other islands. We saw many families with young children, couples of all ages, and single travelers taking in the island’s beauty. There are no beautiful sandy beaches to enjoy, though. Mandraki, the one sandy beach had dull brown sand, super calm water and appeared to be “owned” by a 5-star resort. There were no signs that this beach was public. But you can go through the resort gate and buy something to eat or drink. It’s 2km NE of the port. The walking path is paved and has beautiful seaside views, including the large golden Apollo wind-spinner. Very romantic island.

This was a great place to visit in April for a quiet and relaxing vacation. There were plenty of tourist in the port area but we didn’t see many people in on the various walking trails on the island.
The beaches were small but beautiful. It was a little windy but the temperature was just right in the mid-day sun.
There were several topless bathers at the various beaches and few children.
The beaches have lots of slippery round rock near the shore so it is difficult to walk into the water. The water was clear and cool and the waves were mild.
I didn’t think much of the dining options in Hydra so we purchased fresh produce at the various grocers near the port.
The tap water is sourced from desalination plants so make sure to get plenty of bottled water (to drink) from the local grocery stores.
They really do utilize donkeys to carry heavy loads from the port. They often leave a mess on the walkways so make sure to watch your step.
The island has beautiful inland views and ocean views. The elevation change is mild so it is easy to take long walk through the various trails.
We had no trouble traveling to and from the island. The port is small so it is easy to find your ferry.
We loved our stay in Hydra. It was just the relaxing trip that we were seeking.

Fun island to explore. No cars allowed!
Fun island to explore. No cars allowed! We only had1 night there due to our itinerary, so this fit the bill due to close proximity to Athens. Had a great sunset dinner at Sunset Grill. Tour of the Lazaros Koundouriotis Mansion was awesome, as was home of artist Tetsis.

Hydra is a wonderful place for scenery-gazing and long quiet walks (soundtrack: goat bells, cocks crowing and the occasional donkey bray) - past the monasteries, to the peak of Mount Eros, or across and a scramble down to Limnioniza Beach which we had entirely to ourselves... Our two best meals were both at Techne, where the food is technically accomplished, harmonious and subtle. Jeff Koons' Apollo Wind Spinner at the Deste Project Space Slaughterhouse is a fun diversion on the road to Mandraki. And the many cats seem by and large in good health and well tended thanks to Hydra Ark.
An extremely pleasant hotel in a quieter part of town but not too far away from the port.
I stayed for 4 nights and the owners, Jenny and Philis, along with their son, Nicolas, and the rest of the staff were only too pleased to oblige.
The breakfast each morning was outstanding in every way and set you up for the rest of the day. Extremely tasty home cooked food.
The presentation and cleanliness of this traditional hotel was superb.
I have no hesitation in recommending the Mistral Hotel in beautiful Hydra. You will not be disappointed.
This is a lovely small hotel set just back from the port so lovely and quite but very close to everything. They don't do breakfast but there is a supermarket close by and a wonderful bakery around the corner. They have a lovely terrace where you can eat in the mornings and there is a kettle in the room which we loved. Our room was small but very adequate and the bed was very comfortable. The owner was very pleasant and always on hand to help we would definitely stay again and Hydra is just such a magical place .
This is a beautifully quaint inn perfectly located in Hydra. The view from the double room with private balcony and sea view is outstanding, possibly one of the best views of Hydra. This is the only place I would want to stay in Hydra and I have stayed at top 5 star hotels around the world. But remember this is a quaint little inn so keep that in mind, so don't expect Jeeves to be at your beckon call, but George the owner will do what he can to help.
Gorgeous traditional property in the middle of town of Hydra. It was truly the best location to access all the best things Hydra offers: food, shopping, the port, super markets, pharmacies. Enjoy a good breakfast in their front terrace surrounded by the refreshing wind and shade of the trees. Our room was fully renovated with the newest amenities, super clean! The hotel employs the friendliest of staff willing to help you with anything!
Hotel Miranda is a magical retreat a few minutes walk up the hill from the main port of Hydra. The staff was wonderful, our rooms were lovely, and breakfast was fresh and delicious. It was so much fun to share the narrow cobbled streets of Hydra with many cats and a few people, and watch the donkeys carry goods to homes up the hillside. Hydra is a wonderful car- and bike-free island to explore for a few days by foot!
Fantastic place! Beautiful little boutique hotel, right on the port (overlooking the boats, 2 min walk from where you get off the ferry). SUPER friendly staff, couldn't be more smiley and helpful. Let us leave our bags after we checked out as we had a late ferry. Gorgeous rooms, big breakfast which you can take to have on your balcony, very comfy beds. Highly recommended :)
This charming boutique hotel is located right off the harbor in an old stone building. However the rooms are modern and updated with a simple charm. Our host was gracious and patiently waited for our late arrival at the harbor and ushered us to our rooms. No breakfast is provided but there are several cafes right on the harbor walk that serve excellent breakfasts.
Everything was perfect. I recommend you arrange for the concierge to bring your bags up to the hotel by wheel barrel, particularly if you have heavy bags. It is about a 10 minute walk from the port. The accommodations and service were all great. A great place to stay in Hydra!
High end design on this newly built boutique apartments building, right in the center of Hydra town. Plenty of room, fully equipped kitchen, modern bathroom with all amenities, a unique lighting and superb quality for all furniture, not to mention the coco-mat bed.
The location is beautiful and quite, yet central. What we loved the most was sitting in the mornings with a cup of coffee at the beautiful balcony of the hotel. Dimitris was the nicest and recommended us on great spots to visit in Hydra and the area.
The hotel is beautiful, having been sympathetically renovated to make the most of its many features. It is also perfectly located for access to the many restaurants and bars in hydra town but not too noisy. It was also clean and very comfortable.
This hotel is charming and quaint. It’s surprisingly quiet at night given it’s vicinity to the main part of town (which makes for a great location for easy access to many shops and restaurants). The staff are eager to help and are very welcoming.
The staff is wonderful and were very helpful when we needed something or had a question. Their daily breakfast was one of the most spectacular of all the hotels we visited in Europe; very generous and a wide variety of food to enjoy.
Lovely small family hotel , easy to get to from the port, The family who run hotel were welcoming and told us where to visit on our trip. I loved the breakfast every morning, it was different every day and was always delicious .?
Lovely location and sweet hotel. The owners were very nice and extremely helpful. Great breakfast!
The room was nice and clean. Easy walk to the port. I would stay again.
The property is a traditional Greek pension. This is not a hotel! It is very old world Greece vacation experience. The room is meant to the left! Go into the city!
