For us, Saloniki is the ideal transition day or weekend when we travel from Northern Europe to our final destination further in the south of Greece. Sitting in one of the many outdoor cafés on the Paralia and just watching the hustle & bustle and the beautiful people of Saloniki is a great way to start a holiday. We always visit Public and the shopping malls around it for great deals on brands like Brooks Brothers, GANT and more. Excelsior Hotel is always a treat. Great value for money is found at Maroon Bottle Suites. Getting around the main city on foot is no problem. If you have a rental car it's good to find an underground garage beforehand - can recommend Parking Plateia Vasileos Irakleiou 38.

Thessaloniki, often referred to affectionately as “my...
Thessaloniki, often referred to affectionately as “my village” by its locals, offers a captivating blend of history, culture, and culinary delights. At the heart of its vibrant city life is the Kapani Market, an emblematic and bustling bazaar that seems to transport visitors back in time. Strolling through Kapani, you are engulfed by a fascinating vibe, surrounded by the enticing aromas of fresh produce, spices, and traditional Greek foods. The market pulses with the energy of vendors and shoppers, each contributing to the lively and authentic atmosphere that defines this historic trading spot.
Just a short walk from the market, nestled among the quaint and narrow streets, is Negroponte, arguably the best taverna in Thessaloniki. Known for more than just its exceptional seafood, Negroponte prides itself on homemade bread and a menu that showcases the best of Greek cuisine. Each dish is prepared with care, using locally-sourced ingredients that reflect the culinary richness of the region.
Thessaloniki’s small streets add to its charming and buzzing atmosphere, each turn and corner offering a new sight, sound, or taste. The city’s layout encourages leisurely exploration, with surprises waiting around every corner. Whether it’s a hidden café, a boutique shop, or a street performer, there’s always something to capture your attention and make you feel a deep connection to this vibrant, historical city. Thessaloniki, with its rich past and dynamic present, remains a beloved “village” not just to its residents, but to all who visit.

The room was changed and didn't come with extra double bed.
The room was changed and didn't come with extra double bed. However the host was a lovely guy and took the initiative to accommodate the sofa as if it was a double bed. We did not have wifi for the last 24 hrs
This made it difficult for me to communicate with my family. I had to go to buy a coffee outside for such service.
The rest of things were good. I liked the room, it was big and spacious. As long as I have wifi, I will go again for the same room
Thanks

What a wonderful city.
What a wonderful city. My family and I were only there one night as we were making our way by bus to Istanbul, but from what we say of downtown, it's a beautiful, safe, and vibrant place to visit. We had the most delicious dinner, went for a lovely walk down by the water, and had dessert at a super-fancy bakery somewhere downtown. We also really enjoyed the friendly (and FAT) street dogs!

Very interesting city with places related to Greek, Roman, Byzantine, Ottoman history; many UNESCO World Heritage objects, afternoon atmosphere in the squares and streets of the city. Good starting point to visit Kalambaka, Veroia with Vergina, Kavala with Philippi...
This is a brand new hotel open and taking name from some famous restaurant (Olympos Naoussa, hence ON in the name, I guess). That restaurant is there, downstairs, another bonus. The best, apart quality, is the location. Next and within walking distance to everything worth seeing in Thessaloniki (at least for the first visit). Very good and helpful staff, excellent breakfast. My room was next to elevator, which usually is not a good sign, but this one absolutely silent. In short a great, new hotel in the very (old) city center and port.
The view from the balcony was magnificent, over the fortress of Thessaloniki. Unlike in other downtown hotels, there is a place to stop with car and unload the cases, without the fear you would be picked up by the service. Just around the corner (30m) is valet garage, 15eur/day, 50 m on the other side of the hotel is a public parking, but I doubt it is much cheaper - maybe 2-3 eur less. Supermarket, shops and Tzimiski street walking distance. Good breakfast.
All good with the hotel but is more a 4 star than a 5 star.
Garden and terrace, lobby, reception are 5 star.
Room (even if I had deluxe one) is a 4 star.
The breakfast is good, but a 4 star.
The swimming pool, sauna and gym are 2.5 star. Especially the swimming pool, is very small (5 sq meters, the photo is done to hide the real size).
The location is on main street but quite far from the city, 40 mins walking or 10 mins by taxi.
My husband and I liked this hotel very much. It is located in the heart of Thessaloniki. It is minutes away from Aristotelous Square, the Ladadika area, the bazaar and the waterfront promenade. Our hotel room spacious with beautiful windows and the balcony. Everything was very clean. There is a small elevator. Staff was extremely helpful and friendly, offering to help us with anything we needed. We would return to this hotel.
- A very stylish hotel and room design.
- The rooms are very modern and equipped with all neccessities. They look just like in the photos provided by the property.
- The shower has massage nozzles for the back - that's a nice choice.
- Excellent cleaning services.
- Very polite and helpful staff.
- Good location.
- The price was not that expensive considering the location of the hotel and the 5 stars it has.
we allways stay here when we cross Thessaloniki on our way to our holidays in Greece. Very clean ,great & helpful staff ( we left early in the morning and they prepared some toast and fruits for the road ❤️). The rooms are small but for us this wasn’t a problem. All in all, see u Grand Port Suites next time! P.s we also had parking spot in front of the hotel! 🤘
We really liked the location of the hotel because it is near the city center. The beds were very comfortable and it was clean in the whole apartment. The coffee machine was a great advantage for us. We also had great communication with the owners of the hotel. When we go to Thessaloniki again, we will certainly stay at this hotel again.
Everything was perfect. The hotel is brand new.
Staff perfect facilities also. Beds so comfortable, and room facilities also.
It deserves more then 10.
For sure i would come back and also i will suggest to everyone who would like to visit Thesaloniki. It is the best 5 star hotel in the area.
Thank you
Very modern hotel in a perfect location. 10-30 min walk from all the main city attractions. The staff was great. The room was very clean an equipped with every useful feature. I will definitely come back to this hotel when visiting Thessaloniki again.
Perfect apartment in an excellent location. Also the 4 Travellers team (Caravan hotel) were extremely kind and really helpful! Very well done and looking forward booking the same on my next visit to Thessaloniki. Will definitely recommend.
the hotel was located right in the city center of Thessaloniki. Many restaurants , cafes , bars open passed midnight so there were no worries with food. Also there was a supermarket to buy additional water , etc which was a major plus .
Your hotel was so convenient for me and me and my family to everything…I loved it so much .Thessaloniki is so beautiful town and in one day we walked all around the the city center because the hotel was in the heart of the town
5 stars for a 3star hotel. Seeing some of the reviews, I was not sure it is worth it, but it exceeded my expectations. Clean, good breakfast, walking distance from town. Would come back and would definitely recommend
Very nice, stylish hotel in a great location in the city center. Despite the busy street there was no noise in the room. Very friendly, helpful staff. Absolutely recommended for a visit in Thessaloniki.
Great room view, clean and close to the city center, just 15 min walk from the riviera. It was my second time in the hotel and I'll definitely come back next time when in Thessaloniki.
