Everyone was nice but the kitchen staff was spectacular. The star of the show in my opinion was Manos, who seemed to be the head waiter. His simple presence uplifted the entire restaurant. His wording, even in a second language, made the atmosphere graceful and you felt provided for without pretention. So much warmth and so professional. The waitress Sofia would pick up crying children (with approval of parents of course) and welcome everyone warmly. The food of course was also good, as well as the rest of the staff. thank you!

Elounda is a compact small town on a beautiful sheltered bay. Easy to walk around to visit shops and the many restaurants, tavernas and cafes. In high season it's very much a resort but it's also really nice to visit it out of season, when it's just a working town. There are expensive resorts and hotels outside the main town and it's obvious that there is sufficient income for the local authorities to keep the roads, pavements, infrastructure, etc., well maintained, unlike some other places on Crete.

Would be a charming town if not sooo many tourists who are being brough to Elounda with big busses to do boat tours.
Above has impact on prices and daily routine in the town, leaving little space for Cretean live-style.

Elounda is a great place - very pretty, everything you need is within walking distance - you dont really need a car. Beaches are close by, or you can walk further out to them. Bars and restaurants all around - some cheap and cheerful, some traditional some finer dining - but all are excellent.
You can get boats from the harbour/port to various places. Lots of places to visit - Spinalonga, Ag Nik, Heraklion, museums etc
Also if you like walking - there are a lot of options around the peninsula and along to Plaka.
It isnt cheap but isn't expensive. There are A LOT of English people who go to Elounda (regularly) - but its not full of sports bars or English breakfast places!
A really good place for a first timer to Crete or Greece.
Everybody is friendly and its a very chilled out place.

Elunda is a little fishing village that has grown with the tourist industry, loads of taverna's and restaurants easily keep you going for two weeks, some nice bars as well.
We go in May or September, September is still up to 30 deg and the sea is lovely and warm, it is a lot quieter and relaxing with older people being the main tourists.
The town has two good beaches, It overlooks a bay that is guarded by Spinalonga Island formerly a leaper colony and before that a Venetian fort, worth a visit by boat from the harbour.
Along the coast a couple of miles in a Taxi is Placa a charming place to have a meal or a drink in the evening, has some very good restaurants with a beautiful view of Spinalonga.
The other side of Elunda is a large town of Agios Nikolaos Lots of shops and things to see even more restaurants.
We hired a car for a few days and went out and about there are a few interesting arclogiclde sites within an hours radius, Kritsais a very old village inland up in the hills, it is worth a visit with lots of craft shops and taverna's and nice views,
We have been to Elunda 4 times and will go back next year hopefully.

The holiday homes are cultured, there are no vendors on the beach, or loud music. There are a lot of rocks in the sea and the fishes are biting :D, so it's worth wearing water shoes. It's a calm and clean city, the locals are nice, the food and drinks are amazing, they give you big portions. There is a lot of wind in Elounda, but Plaka is really windy. There is some nightlife in the bars, but nothing rough. The vacation here is relaxing and pleasant.

Elounda is outstanding.A number of restaurants are on jetties streching out into Elounda bay.
The Blue Sea Cretan Cuisine and seafood restaurant located in front of my hotel was fabulous! Exceptional food and service at great prices.
Elounda and Spinalonga is full of lovely local shops selling beautiful items, many hand made.
The local people I found to be warm and welcoming.
The atmosphere was relaxed with plenty of available sunbeds on the sea front.
I felt no need to go anywhere else as I was staying for 1 week, although there were boat trips on offer along the sea front. I did get the bus to Agios Nikolaus for 1euro 80 each way around 20 minutes from Elounda.
Overall, beautiful suites with great hospitality. Unfortunately, we were very unlucky and were placed in a suite next to a family with a young baby which woke us several times throughout the night due to the very thin walls!! Its a shame as very well equipped hotel but not quite the R&R we were looking for! Would highly recommended for families, with children’s sing along in the main bar and lots of activities, but not so great for couples after a quiet break.
Great breakfast.
Great restaurant.
Great views from the rooms, sky bar, sky pool and beach.
I also liked the fact that you could choose to chill at the beach within 1min across the street or at the pool on the rooftop (1min from hotel room). Also love how clean everything was.
Clean rooms.
Nice staff.
Helpful reception, also when renting some vehicle or booking expeditions.
Overall just great!
Our host met us at the port to give us a rundown on the check in and location of the property while we were getting our rental car. The location is just up the hill behind central Elounda and has amazing views of the sea from the rooftop! The full kitchen was nice as we could cook when we wanted to and it was very quiet at night time. We would highly recommend this spot to anyone visiting the area.
What a fabulous apartment, from the moment we arrived we were made to feel like family by Chris and Anna, the staff here are wonderful and couldn't do enough to make our stay so amazing everyone is so friendly, the apartment was amazing with spectacular views and only a 20 minute walk away from the resort of Elounda,Thank you all for making our stay so amazing we will be back definitely xx
We liked this quiet detached bungalow with its view of the bay, and a bus stop close by. We also liked that our host Irini had helped us to find a taxi from the airport direct to this property late at night. We liked the fact that we could walk safely into Elounda to catch the ferry to Spinalonga Island, and (on another day) directly onto Spinalonga peninsula. Great 3-night stay.
This is lovely hotel with delightful caring staff. Nice to be able to cook simple meals. Shower good. Plenty of space for storage. Great position for everything that the beautiful town of Elounda has to offer. Great pool, bar area and the ability to leave bags for a late departure yet have a shower and change after a day out is great!
Everything from start to finish was exceptional. Comfy beds, little extras like tea and a water kettle, mini fridge and sweets left on the pillow. Good A/C, soft beds & pillows. Outstanding location, close to all within walking distance. Staff was great 👍🏽 😁 I would 100% recommend this hotel and stay here again.
Hotel taken over by Hotel Brain who are clearly updating. Renewed power supply and cabinets. Overhaul of pumps etc on the already excellent pool area. Staff are very friendly and hotel spotless. A little walk into Elounda but very pleasant if you take the shortcut via old salt pans and follow the waterside.
My family of 4 loved the view from our balcony and from the pool deck area, pool itself and cleanliness. It was easy to get around as we had a car and got to easily pop into Elounda centre for dinner and supplies as well as the trip to Spinalonga. Staff were also very friendly and helpful
We liked the location and fully enjoyed the weather. Crete is beautiful ! Food in Crete is amazing.
Nice and kind employees
Very nice food in Anthós and Blue Door
our favourite restaurant was FERRYMAN in ELUNDA and Maria in Plaka ( village close to the hotel )
What a heaven this place is. Sparking clean, the views to die for and every single staff member was exceptional and nice. We will be back. Special thanks and compliments to Katerina. She made our stay a little more special. This is the best hotel in Elounda.
Location and view were excellent. elounda and Agios Nikolaus were super close by. The size of the villa was great too- we hardly used all of it. Michaelis was a lovely person who gave us many good recommendations for the area—just not a good house manager.
The hotel is great. Private beach one of the best I ever been. Service was great, we had an upgraded huge room, wine and cake as a welcome gift. Stuff was really helpful. Area is beautiful and quiet.
everything about this hotel was amazing from the lovely staff, food, drink, accommodation and amazing location it was all 5 star and more we will defiantly be going back
