We had a very pleasant stay. The hotel is clean, with a few restaurants and markets in the area, takes 20min by bus to the closest big city - Chania. The receptionist was also very cool and helpful and recommended us nice tours on the first day.

We like this area due to the beach, the local tavernas and the hotels. Kimatogi is our favourite taverna with delicious specials every day and our favourite hotel is Renieries on the top of the hill, with beautiful view and with the family athmosphere.
You can easily go to Chania with the bus which stops many places in Stalos. From this area the tourist buses also can pick you up easily if you want to visit Elafonissi, Balos/Gramvousa,Samaria Gorge but also to the other area of the Island.
Or with going by car it's also easy to get around and it's near to a junction to the Speed way.

Too quiet not enough to do and see.
Too quiet not enough to do and see. Restaurants not typically Greek mainly serving pizza and pasta. Couldn't get coffee before 9.am. There was no bakery. A lot of properties very run down. Very few general retail shops. It was better to catch the bus into Chania

We booked this hotel to be close to Chania but were very pleasantly surprised about what Stalos had to offer. We spent more time there than expected as it had a good selection of restaurants for both lunch and dinner. Lovely beach and a short(but busy) bus ride to Chania. An ideal base.

Stalos is mainly low rise and less heavily developed than further west. The live music at Dionysus taverna was excellent. The breakfast at Evilion bistro is also excellent and very good value.
There is good walking up into the hills through the olive groves. Lake Agia via Pano Stalos and Kirtomades (turn left at the bottom) takes about 1.5 hours though the cafe is closed on a Monday.

We only stayed for one night as we arrived late in Chania and needed a hotel close to the airport. The apartment was really nice and clean and satisfied our needs. Our plane was delayed and the owner was waiting for as to check in late. We could park a car in nearby car park. There was a lovely swimming pool and a garden. Beach only half a minute walk.
Very nice and friendly host. We felt welcome there. A nice restaurant nearby (the same owner) with very good food and very friendly service. Nice view from two balconies. Two bedrooms are good for a family. A 20min drive to Chania. Quiet place. The swimming pool could have been used if we were there in the summer. If we go to Crete again, we would like to stay there.
The location is perfect, slightly elevated above the sea level, you can enjoy the view of the sea and Agii Theodori island from your balcony.
Just 10 minutes to Chania, it's in a great spot to visit all west Crete and its amazing beaches, like Falasarna, Balos or Elafonisi.
The staff is nice and friendly. The rooms are clean and spacious.
The location is central in Stalos, very close to the beach and also the restaurants of Agia Marina are within walking distance. The house itself is new, clean, well-functioning, stylish and has everything our group of two families needed. The host is really nice and helpful. I would highly recommend this to anyone.
We loved the hotel. The location was right across the street from the beach. Small kitchen (pretty much a hot plate, sink, and mini fridge), but we didn’t use the kitchen anyways. There were two pools that the kids loved. Staff was friendly and helpful. Our room was plenty spacious for our family of five.
The owner is amazing, Thank you for a perfect week in Anniko apartament.
Location is fantastic, the beach is close, you can walk on the beach to the next village Agia Marina.
The bus to Chania is nearby and from Chania to the airport is the airport bus 2.30 e.
The taxi to Chania is 14 e.
Nice small hotel (about 9 apartments) with private sand beach including umbrellas, sunbeds and shower. Helpful staff. Perfect cleaning service. All services nearby: restaurants, small supermarkets, car rentals, bus stop to Chania. We believe we will come again.
Perfect stay in Stalos. Full furnished and modern apartment, clean and comfortable, especially the mattress.
The hosts are very welcoming, nice and always available.
It was the best stay we had in Crete (we went around the island changing 5 studios).
The property was very clean, with spacious rooms and turndown service every day. The pool and cafe areas were kept clean at all times. Free breakfast was delicious and the staff were amazing. Very reasonable prices given beach front location.
The apartment was next to the beach. Their breakfast was really good. Very close to the bus station. The beach in front of them was sunbed-free. Instead they had them on their very accessible garden next to it.
Everything was just perfect! Frindly host, great sea view from out balcony, very clean and large rooms, private parking, 20 second away from the beach, this is the perfect stay in Crete!! The best!!!!
Nice hotel with a sea view, beach and a pool. 2 minute walk to the nearest store, many reataurants near by. Easy to visit other cities like Agia Marina and Platanias by feet and Chania by a bus.
A very family friendly hotel with a life guard at the pool. It is in a quiet area of Stalos however still within walking distance to restaurants and beach. The reception are so very helpful.
- large breakfast
- private beach access
- super friendly staff
- family taverna across the street
-> we recommend to book a rental in advance to enjoy Crete and all its lovely beaches
Great facilities. Well equipped kitchen. Easy access to the swimming pool and beach. Discounts on breakfast at restaurant available. Bus stop to Chania right next to the hotel.
The house is fantastic
very good equipped, with great view and amazing sun rises
