The location was fantastic! The hosts were fantastic! The decor and layout was exactly what we needed! Location: the house is near a little bodega, coffee shop, grocery stores and good restaurants with more that are walkable up the street. The bus is close as is the Marathon Museum. It is also just a 10 minute drive to the beach. The hosts were fantastic: They brought over homemade Greek dishes twice and even some tsipouro - the special Greek liquor. They were quick to reply. They stocked the house with cold water, coffee and cream and goodies and were easy to negotiate with when changes occurred. Everything was very clean and modern. The beds were comfortable, the kitchen had all appliances and the air conditioning worked great if we wanted to use it. The front porch is a savior!! In the heat.

Absolutely amazing property, big rooms, super clean and modern decorated. I love the fact that each room has a terrace directly connected to the pool area.
The entire hotel it’s just a piece of modern art and the staff is super friendly, especially the young lady from the reception who helped my mom to find a taxi and made all the efforts to understand her even though my mom doesn’t speak english. She was always smiling and always in good mood, she made me want to move to Greece. Beside that, she made excepcional restaurant recommendation and we had the chance to experience the real greek food.
We are planning to return to Nea Makri next year and without a doubt we will choose the same hotel.

Tasos is a perfect host. He welcomed us and took care of us during our entire journey.
He was here 24/7 which is very helpful. The rooms are new, clean and the view on the sea fabulous.
Small kitchen is useful and the bed is comfortable.

Marathon like a lot a of mainland Greece has had its problems. Marathonas has everything a traveller would need if you know where to look for them. You really need a car. Tavernas are plentiful most of them do a very good selection of food be it fish, meat or vegetarian. Lovely scenery and short drive to several beaches. Schinias beach is now closed to cars but you can park at the Rusty Cannon. Sisi beach a drive to get too but a quiet location. A wealth of historical sites nearby.
