The lady at reception was lovely. We drove to Sitia and realized we had left our passports and money belt in a drawer. She was phoned and went up and found them and put them in her safe for us!! So kind of her. We will recommend her hotel!
This modern 5-star hotel is surrounded by acres of gardens, overlooking the Mirabello Bay, just minutes from beaches and the fishing village of Elounda.

The lady at reception was a 10/10! She was knowledgeable about local history, suggested great places to visit, and was both happy and friendly. She really made our stay (and the rest of our trip thanks to her suggestions) delightful!

We visited it after big towns like Chania and Rethymno, so we felt like it is very small and quiet.
If you want a long walk, you can go to the Kalydon island, see some goats and Chapel of Saint Luke.
The restaurants near the sea are pretty fancy, the prices are high enough.
If you want to taste the real Greek cuisine go to Coha Grill House.
This is a real taverna with absolutely delicious food and welcoming atmosphere. And the prices are fair.
Also you can take a boat to Spinalonga island. I recommend, the history of this island is impressive.
It takes about 20 minutes to reach it and costs 14 euros back and forth.
The boats departure every 30 minutes from 10.30 a.m. till 4.30 p.m.
All in all I can say that this place is suitable for older people or for people who don't prefer active rest.
Energetic people will be bored here.

Elounda is a very relaxing place with everything...plenty of boat trips for fishing and ferries to Spinalonga. Beach and restaurants within walking distance with plenty of places to sit for those not just as mobile. There are buses to travel to Plaka and Nicos Longa. There is also a small tourist train that takes you on a trip up to the mountains .

Elounda is a compact small town on a beautiful sheltered bay. Easy to walk around to visit shops and the many restaurants, tavernas and cafes. In high season it's very much a resort but it's also really nice to visit it out of season, when it's just a working town. There are expensive resorts and hotels outside the main town and it's obvious that there is sufficient income for the local authorities to keep the roads, pavements, infrastructure, etc., well maintained, unlike some other places on Crete.

Would be a charming town if not sooo many tourists who are being brough to Elounda with big busses to do boat tours.
Above has impact on prices and daily routine in the town, leaving little space for Cretean live-style.

Elounda is a great place - very pretty, everything you need is within walking distance - you dont really need a car. Beaches are close by, or you can walk further out to them. Bars and restaurants all around - some cheap and cheerful, some traditional some finer dining - but all are excellent.
You can get boats from the harbour/port to various places. Lots of places to visit - Spinalonga, Ag Nik, Heraklion, museums etc
Also if you like walking - there are a lot of options around the peninsula and along to Plaka.
It isnt cheap but isn't expensive. There are A LOT of English people who go to Elounda (regularly) - but its not full of sports bars or English breakfast places!
A really good place for a first timer to Crete or Greece.
Everybody is friendly and its a very chilled out place.

Elunda is a little fishing village that has grown with the tourist industry, loads of taverna's and restaurants easily keep you going for two weeks, some nice bars as well.
We go in May or September, September is still up to 30 deg and the sea is lovely and warm, it is a lot quieter and relaxing with older people being the main tourists.
The town has two good beaches, It overlooks a bay that is guarded by Spinalonga Island formerly a leaper colony and before that a Venetian fort, worth a visit by boat from the harbour.
Along the coast a couple of miles in a Taxi is Placa a charming place to have a meal or a drink in the evening, has some very good restaurants with a beautiful view of Spinalonga.
The other side of Elunda is a large town of Agios Nikolaos Lots of shops and things to see even more restaurants.
We hired a car for a few days and went out and about there are a few interesting arclogiclde sites within an hours radius, Kritsais a very old village inland up in the hills, it is worth a visit with lots of craft shops and taverna's and nice views,
We have been to Elunda 4 times and will go back next year hopefully.
Friendly staff, great and fast room service. Clean rooms, pools, water and beach. Variety and tasty food, including in room service, it works from 7:00 to 10:30 for breakfast and then 11:00 - 22:00, but there are some meals available for 24h.
Any of the staff is ready to help and resolve an issue with personal approach or find the way to solve it. SPA, restaurants and other services from other neighbouring Elounda S.A. HOTELS & RESORTS hotels. There is a free transfer between them.
Good location and great views.
My recent stay at Domes Aulus Elounda Hotel was absolutely incredible. The staff, especially Despina from the reception, went above and beyond to make our experience unforgettable. The suite with a shared pool offered a breathtaking view of the Mediterranean Sea, and the luxurious amenities made us feel like royalty. The exceptional food and hospitality throughout our stay made us feel pampered and truly special. I highly recommend Domes Aulus Elounda Hotel to anyone seeking a luxurious and memorable getaway.
Beautiful looking hotel that didn’t feel too big, the lovely olive trees and surroundings made it feel authentic and traditional all whilst being a modern 5 star resort. The rooms were thought out well and we were lucky enough to be high up so the view was incredible. The staff were so hospitable and friendly and always smiling, they were very accommodating for anything you required. The shuttle to and from the beach/town runs from 7-23:00, which was amazing to get up the hill after a night out!
Location was great. Right on the beach, but if you walk 100ft south the beach is much better.
You can walk easily to restaurants, caffes and the local marina. The room was very spacious. We had 2 separate rooms, a kitchen and 2 balconies. The place was very quiet (but plenty of cicadas all over crete). The windows were sound proof!
The kitchen was great. The ac was perfect.
The beds were more comfortable then most hotels.
Highly recommended!!!
Free parking on site.
Hotel was awesome! Loved that they had a gym! Beach front was not as nice as it could be , there is a boat rental company that is right there basically where you would swim.
Food was great, not cheap however was nice portions and well made. Drinks expensive but well made.
One negetive that I would say is the hotel is a taxi drive from everything. Keep this in mind if you want to do things around Crete. Walking is a bit far to any near by areas of interest.
Beautiful location overlooking the sea with hills and mountains in the background.
Short drive to both Elounda and Plaka, in fact it takes 30 minutes to walk to both.
Really ‘cool’ hotel with elegant public rooms, restaurants, beach and swimming pool.
Buggies that would drive you around the complex (necessary).
The staff were excellent, friendly and flexible.
Samurai restaurant served amazing sushi and we drank one of the best red wines we’ve ever had.
During our stay there were only few guests, so the hotel was very quiet. This could be different in high season. However, there is a lot of space in the hotel, including 4 pools and water park. Meals were amazing except the poor offer of meats. Location is very nice, because it is away from the noise of "city" center. Staff was friendly and always helpful.
Great location with beautiful views of Elounda Bay. The hotel was is 15min walk into the main town and 30mibs from Plaka, another lovely Greek town.
The hotel has a great option of pool and beach and if you're lucky you also get your own semi private pool too and a balcony with your room.
The staff are super friendly and very helpful.
Cheap, clean, comfortable apartments. If you are looking for 5 star, this is not for you. But, if you are looking for good value for money, spacious apartments with a great pool then this will work. A little noisy by being next to the main road into Elounda, but we came to terms with this. A little dated, but is reflected in the cost.
We were on half board, and breakfast along with dinner was amazing. Everyone from the adults all the way to our children enjoyed the food. The service overall is on par with a top 5 star hotel, and we never felt like we were missing anything or didn't have help from the staff. The staff always went out of their way to help us!
Very well situated with beautiful view of the sea and surrounding Elounda, we had available everything we needed and even forgot to bring ourselves. Rira our host was extremely kind offering us a lift to the property from nearby Elounda amongst other things. Fantastic place to stay when visiting Crete!
We had a great experience at the hotel! We took a room with the see view and it was wonderful!
Absolutely the best breakfast at Elounda! Thanks to Georgios and the Chef!
Maria was sweet and helped us with everything we needed!
Highly recommended and we will definitely come back soon!
We had an amazing stay at this hotel! Everything - the staff, the food, the atmosphere, the view could not have been any better. The only downside was that we barely left the the hotel to explore the environment as it was simply too relaxing: )
Very friendly and quietly efficient hotel. Lovely setting, very quiet at all times, ideal for people who want peace. Food great at a most reasonable price. Wonderful staff. Lovely (superior) room with sun balcony and view over the bay.
Marvelous views into the Mediterranean! This is a nice somewhat oldish hotel that has received a good lift-up in amenities.Very welcoming reception and friendly staff. All in all a lovely short stay. Wish we had more time!
Great location, wonderful room, delicious breakfast, and our host, Maria , was the most lovely, courteous, attentive person, who made our stay a memorable one. We will be back on our next trip to Elounda..
The hotel is in front of the sea and very close to restaurants and cafes. The swimming pool is perfect and the bar also. The staff is really helpful and polite. Totally recommended, a value for money hotel
Emilia was extremely welcoming and helpful during the stay. She had some good recommendations for checking out around the town since Elounda is so small.
