The castle was lovely and the heritage center was a lot of fun and very informative, there are some lovely restaurants, we ate in the old barracks food was delicious and we got some lovely cakes to take away. We stayed in the Raheen woods which is a very family friendly hotel. Athenry has a train station and is only a fifteen minutes trip to Galway city

We had a nice time here .

We had a nice time here . The heritage centre is worth a visit. For 5 euro you get to go on a tour and learn lots of the history of Athenry in a fun and interesting way ,you get to wear costumes and you get to do archery and a maze. Such a lovely experience. There's also a castle and an Abbey to visit . Great playground for children. The food in the restaurants and pubs was just gorgeous. The people were friendly and nice. Definitely will return again.

Athenry was a wonderful little town to visit.

Athenry was a wonderful little town to visit. Great to get a feel for authentic, non-touristic Irish culture. The town boasts a castle, a friary ruin, an old stone gate, so many gems to visit! Then the nightlife was very fun. Great pubs and music made for one our favorite stops during our 10 day trip to Ireland

Breakfast was exceptional. Portions were generous, selection ranged from full Irish to smaller offerings. Their scones were some of the best we have eaten! Also, ate dinner in the restaurant the first evening and enjoyed their varied menu. The green curry was very good while the shredded duck on bao buns was excellent. Our only wish was that the restaurant had stayed open one hour later so that we could have eaten dinner at 7 instead of 6 pm.

Staff was amazing and very friendly on all the locations through the whole hotel. We asked for cot ladie cleaning the rooms and she was more then helpful, we had one in 5 minutes. Thank you The place is brilliant for families and kids. Kids loved being spoiled by little touches like icecream on arrival and goodie bag.. Little things... Christmas decorations looked beautiful. Great atmosphere.. will go back 😊
