I had a relaxing stay in The Oberoi Grand. The best part of this hotel is the staff. Each staff is professional, friendly and hospitable. Their attention to detail is impressive, one instance was that while I was having dinner alone one of the staff offered me some magazines so I wouldn't get bored. There were many other instances when the staff took great care of me. The room was clean, comfortable and historic. It is centrally located, easy to go out and explore Kolkata. The swimming pool in the hotel was quite nice. The breakfast buffet was delicious.

It is a city of scamsters and touters. I have not seen a single city in the world except Kolkata where almost all cab and taxi services (including ola, uber and bikes etc) ask the customer for more money than what is shown in the app and threaten to cancel the ride otherwise. The worker class and labour class is fully corrupt

Kolkata is indeed the city of joy.
Kolkata is indeed the city of joy. Walking through the street of Kolkata means, walking through history, culture and heritage. One or two days are nothing for Kolkata. To know Kolkata, to see Kolkata you need at least a month to get the best essence of the trip. Old part of the city as well as modern part of the city has so many beautiful things to offer for a tourist. I think Kolkata is the best place to enrich ones knowledge of arts, music, literature and what not?

This was my first time visiting Kolkata.
This was my first time visiting Kolkata. I had heard that it was very congested, old, run down and dirty. I found it to be the same as most of the other big cities in India. Liked the history. However the old Kolkata could do with an uplift. To preserve some of the old buildings they need to be refurbished.
The staff were super friendly and helpful. Ricky Mukherjee, Raj at the reception made us very comfortable starting from the check in to arranging local tours and check out process. Mymur, Yogesh, Sunita were outstanding withy our luggage handling to brief walkthrough of the property. Mr. Munsi at the East Indian restaurant within the property explained us the culinary details. Mr. Mukherjee, the executive chef fulfilled my wish to have a traditional colonial era Bengali Thaali.
Well done Team Raaj Kutir. You guys are the best !
A wonderful BnB in a very nice part of Kolkata. The accommodation is tucked away on a quiet side road, so there is no noise disturbance. Good sized rooms, and very clean. Kettle in room, use of large kitchen and washing machine. The host Munna is an absolute star, very, very helpful, and a great unofficial tour advisor. Although breakfast was included, we also had dinner on two nights. Munna's cooking is superb, the best food we have had in India, all cooked to order and so tasty.
EVERYTHING. The location is right across the street from American consulate so it's very safe area. The owner and all her staff is very kind and efficient. Don't let a dubious entrance and building front fool you. The room is so big you can fit 5 single beds in there
The bathroom is very clean with good ventilation. The place is handsomely renovated. The breakfast is the best of all the hotels I've stay in India. I can't recommend this place enough.
"The hotel is located in a prime location, close to the airport and major attractions in Kolkata. The hotel is easily accessible from the railway station and bus terminals. The hotel offers well-furnished rooms with comfortable beds and basic amenities. The rooms are spacious, clean, and equipped with modern amenities like air conditioning, flat-screen TVs, and free Wi-Fi. The staff ensures that they are well-maintained.
All stuffs are very
welcoming and helpful all the time.
Foods are really delicious.
I stayed in JW marriot & many other five star hotels this year,
Honestly I've not seen such a wonderful hospitality.
My view is, Taj bengal is the best 5 star hotel in kolkata.. therefore I am planning to organize my marriage anniversary here only.
The stay was fantastic as usual. Oberoi has become my preferred location in Kolkata when I am in India. Despite the small inconsistencies that I had to mention for the sake of completion, Oberoi Kolkata, is by far, the best property to stay in the city of Kolkata,
The rooms were clean, very comfortable, and the staff was amazing. They went over and beyond to help make our stay enjoyable. I highly recommend this hotel for anyone visiting kolkata. Location is also great near to new market, marquis street and park street.
The location of this hotel is very convenient. Walking distance from the New market, Marquis street and park street. The price that I got during my stay was great with breakfast. Recommended for short stays in Kolkata.
This is a very nice hotel in the centre of Kolkata. The staff are superb. The room was very comfortable. Food was generally very good - breakfast is excellent, one of the best breakfast buffets that I have seen.
Nothing. The owner of the hotel needs to realize that in a property you can either run a hotel or a loud disco, but not BOTH. There should be action against them. But it is India so sab chalta hain.
The staff is the highlight of this tastefully done property. They are gems.
Also the ambiance is surreal. This is by far the best boutique hotel I’ve ever stayed in - both in India and abroad.
One of the best hotel ever in kolkata... This is my first time visited in kolkata and the service was awesome specially staffs are very helpful

Reasonable price
