Varanasi is one of those few places in the world where you go to observe, understand and learn. Of course, ghats are a majestic sight and local food is something to die for. Be prepared for massive crowds, carry your bottle of water, walk around as much as possible, and avoid the famous but over-rated chaat shops (not naming them here). Kashi Vishwanath and its many famous temples give Varanasi its character. Tulsi Manas Mandir was my favourite, its a piece of real history.

As now in India, you would probably notice that it is Chaos...

As now in India, you would probably notice that it is Chaos and you have to go with the flow. In Varanasi immerse with the flow and enjoy it. Enjoy the food, the sweets, Enjoy talking to the locals, Enjoy the street vendors, Enjoy the ghats- walk as much as you can on ghats and the streets leading to ghats. And if you are tired there will be boats who will take you from here to there. Sharin boat is best, you just need to experience the boat alone only once and that too either Sunrise or Sunset. Observe just everything. Because Vanarasi is about the people and the river. If you are an international traveller like, Chai is a must anytime. Google map is your best friend in Vanarasi, use it properly to locate the places you wish to visit and most importantly the good restaurant present there, plus rickshaw/tricycle is always here to take you in and around. LET THE FLOW GUIDE YOU IN VANARASI.

Varanasi is a place for everyone, as a regular tourist there is so much of heritage, monuments and food that it will give a unique experience. There is no greater experience than varanasi when it comes to religious experience, from temples to ashrams to saints and Ganga Aarti and kashi vishwanath, there is no parallel experience anywhere in the world. And the third is spirituality, this is a place where you get to meet yourself, understand the true meaning of life, mortality and nashwar shareer, you can sit for hours on the ghats any time day and night alike. Allow yourself to soak in yourself, the chaos has a sense of calm, fire at manikarnika ghat gives you peace and you feel elevated to being a part of the supreme creator. Varanasi is a place that everyone in the world should atleast come once, I have lost count of how many times I have been to varanasi but each time, I feel more connected with myself. I don't know what you are searching in varanasi but I can assure you that you will find yourself. Mahadev tumhare galiyon mein Milna ho raha hai mujhse mera.

Varanasi is a very special city. You need to be prepared for bustle, crowds, constant noise, dirt and dust. This city is very different, unusual, with an ancient history. He just shocked me. But I think that not all tourists can be here.

Varanasi is a place with history, culture and with a spiritual vibe. But in my opinion the Ghats need to be cleaner as it is quite dirty at certain patches and also the in between Shivala to Assi Ghat a section was not lit up so it's difficult to walk in the dark. CLEANLINESS and TRAFFIC needs attention. Rest all good.

If you have extra energy or in a mood, join them for the rooftop music sessions in the evening!
