View from the room was nice, enough space in common area to sit relaxt and the beds were very comfy! Host was nice. We came for the puffins to the island, and we luckily managed to see some close to the guesthouse because of are patience and good camera :)

What an excellent house. Perfect location as you can see Elephant Rock as you drink your morning coffee. The house is brand new with high end finishes. Also the perfect location for finding pufflings to rescue!

Peaceful small town with rich and fascinating history, namely it's fishing industry and near annihilation by a volcano. I recommend hiking over and to the top of the volcano and visiting the volcano museum.

The ferry to get to the island was immaculately clean and ran on time both ways. While a smaller boat for such open seas, the sailing was still good and not too rough! The island itself was picturesque and I wish I could have stayed longer.

Such a beautiful island! The landscape is absolutely unreal.
Such a beautiful island! The landscape is absolutely unreal. Hiking the volcano and then visiting the museum is a must. We saw puffins on the outlook just past the golf course! (ie didn't need to take the bus tour to the southern tip of the island to see them). Vigtin bakery is delicious, as well as Tanginn for dinner. Check out Brothers Brewery for a good drink! Super easy to get around on foot, and the ferry was perfect! A must see in Iceland!

Vestmanneayar is a beautiful, self-contained fishing village...
Vestmanneayar is a beautiful, self-contained fishing village that also caters nicely to tourists. It is located on the island of Heimaey. Getting there is challenging but well worth it. The best way is to rent a car in Reykjavik and drive 2 hours to Landeyjahofn on the south coast. Leave the car there (I found no need for a car on the island) and take the ferry out to the island. Two or three days is sufficient to see everything on Heimaey. Bike rental, e-scooter and hiking are the best ways to get around. I was able to bike the length of the island with several stops in about 2 hours. It's hilly- what do you expect it's a volcano. Great opportunities to view wild life and spend time outside. The views cannot be beat. Food is excellent but (like the rest of Iceland) a bit expensive. The public pool/ hot tubs are a great way to end a physically taxing day.

What a beautiful island!
What a beautiful island! We took the tour with EyjaTours and it was so informative. The island holds so much rich history, and the scenery is gorgeous. We were able to see the puffins, as well as learn about volcanoes.

As soon as we arrived by ferry, we went hiking, then dinner at Gott, then puffin watching. Unfortunately we were not in the right place to see the true puffin colony (keep going up that road!) but we enjoyed what we did get to see.
A beautiful room on a stunningly beautiful island. The location was fantastic - very easy access to the ferry and very close to some great restaurants, cafes and of course the Brothers Brewery - and the staff were very welcoming and very efficient. The breakfast was excellent and the hot tub very welcome after a day of being blown around Vestmannaejar! Can't wait to return.
It’s very well located hotel. Close to downtown. The room was very clean and tidy. Beds comfortable. Soft and clean bedding. Bathroom and kitchen well equipped. I have seen also laundry room for guest which I didn’t use cuz was there one night only but good to know for future. I recommend this place. We didn’t meet anyone from staff so I cannot really rate about it.
Nothing really. It was a quick one night stop for us, we spent minimal amount of time in the room, quite deliberately. The room for functional enough, but due to accommodation problems in Iceland, the hotel can get away with providing minimal value for a quite a lot of money, in any other normal
market it would go out of business in a month.
We enjoyed our stay at the lava guesthouse. A friendly host welcomed us and gave us many information for the area. The room was clean and comfortable. The kitchen was well equipped and everything was in walking distance. We highly recommend to stay at the guesthouse to explore Heimaey.
The location and views were incredible. Cottage was small, but LITERALLY had everything you could ask for. If you've ever watched "Tiny Houses", this was the ultimate tiny house. Awesome space. The windows over looking the other Westman Islands, the farm its on, highly recommend.
The house looks scary from the outside and we felt it looked like a haunted house. Inside is a little better. The inside is in the making. Bring a face mask, the curtains are too transparent (normally Icelandic hotels provide opaque curtains given the long summer nights).
Excellent hotel, very comfortable and clean. The room had a wonderful view over the village of Heimaey and it was equipped with everything I needed for my weekend stay. The staff was friendly and helpful. Good value for money. I definitely recommend Hotel Vestmannaeyjar.
Everything, top location in downtown Heimaey and next to some of the best restaurants in Iceland.
My room was small but comfy and clean, with tv and Netflix . Excellent WiFi.
kitchen was very well equipped, with a nice patio.
The owner was very nice.
Highest quality complete and well-stocked apartment with convenient, free laundry, more heat than you need, center of town location, plenty of towels and towel drying radiator, minute walk to two groceries, the brewery, best restaurants.
What a cool place to stay when visiting Westman Island. It was such a unique stay and conveniently located to the ferry and to walking the city. The individual pods were clean, comfortable, and very quiet. Very cool place!
Guesthouse Arny was a pleasure with Gaui serving as a great host. We loved the many little details around the place that made it comfortable, and there was much to see and explore in the Westman Islands. We'll be back.
friendly host, comfortable room, generous kitchen and sitting room with netflix, close to swimming pool and walk to coast via golf course; less than an hour to walk up Eldfell, stroll into town; thanks Arny!
The view from the cottage was superb. Waking up and seeing most of the sites in Vestmannaeyjar was wonderful. I am definitively going to stay there again. In this little cottage you had all you needed!

The house is very well located. It was super easy to get to a supermarket, restaurants, port and so on. The self-check-in and check-out was pretty smooth too.
