We liked the spacious, clean and very comfortable room. We were lucky that the neighboring rooms were not loud and no people shouting in the corridor. We also loved the quiet, peaceful surroundings with sheep and pasture. The beds were comfortable. We slept very well.
Staff was courteous and nice. Breakfast was of good quality and very delicious.

High quality apartment, beds great etc.
High quality apartment, beds great etc. Problem was getting there was a hassel of the off road time with very difficult roads. Too expensive given that. And it was a construction site, per the picture out of our window.

There was a lot of noise.
There was a lot of noise. We weren't on the main building and when people walked in the hallway you got a lot of noises. Also the fan in the toilet turned on every time you turned on the lights and it stayed on for 15 minutes after.

We stayed in Kirkjubaerjarklaustur and made day trips to the glacier and to black beach. If you have a car, it is a great place. The scenery is beautiful and it is a good location to explore the south eastern part of the island. It is a bit of a drive for groceries and I suggest you buy them in Reykjavik or at a larger town on the way to the south.

Cute small town with a pretty waterfall at the top of the hill. A couple of restaurants and a small market were easily available. The hotel we stayed at was outside of the town itself but was an easy drive away. The town was also close to many beautiful sights, including Vatnajokull National Park and Diamond Beach.

Great location, especially if you are in Iceland only for couple of days, this would be one of the best choices. From this location, you can make several amazing trips to the surrounding locations. The most interesting places offered by southern Iceland are reacheble from this area as a "base camp".

The hotel is very well located for any road trip in the South of the country or if you drive via the Ring road. Next to all points of interest nearby such as Fjaðrárgljúfur and Skaftafell national park.
The room we booked was very clean, the bed was very comfortable, lovely staff, the hotel is very spacious in the middle of nature with mountain and field views and had also nice facilities. We higly recommend it and will definitely book there again if we come back to South Iceland.
We stayed one night at Hunkubakkar, it is a lovely place, very well located for a one night stop along the ring road. Our room had space enough for two people, and toilet sharing was fine as it was all very clean.
Special mention to the people working here, very charming and welcoming. We mentioned that we were on our Honey Moon trip in Iceland, and we had a little surpise during the dinner (by the way, lamb was superb!). Nice detail and great example of customer focus.
The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was typical of Icelandic hotel rooms, with a good sized en-suite shower room. It overlooked the river and was peaceful and quiet. The hotel is easy to find from the main road and there was ample free parking. As the number of guests in the hotel was small the night we stayed we selected breakfast options from a list and were given generous amounts.
We loved our stay at the cute, cozy, and very Icelandic cabin at the Magma Hotel. It felt very private, and the view of the lake and woods and horses across the lake were superb. Our buffet breakfast was delicious with lots of tasty variety to choose from. The staff were friendly and very helpful. We highly recommend a stay in this superb hotel for a true Icelanic experience.
Like how secluded and special the place is. The fact that it is close to a nameless waterfall. The lava maze that leads up to the waterfall. We have our own cabin, although the space is a bit tight with limited room to move about, the place is comfortable. The host was exceptionally friendly and shared a lot about the space, and about Iceland.
The apartment is very new. Everything is clean and tidy. Renovation and decoration is modern. The water is hot enough in the shower. The water pressure is big unlikr many guesthouse in iceland. The sofa bed is very comfortable and well made. I like the place very much. Will come again in my next visit. 😊😊😊😊
Very clean cottage in a peaceful area in the middle of the hills. The staff was very friendly and proposed an Icelandic typical dinner with products in direct from the farm family which is worth it. The cottage is close from a fabulous canyon and short hike.
Next to the guest house is a really nice restaurant, Kjarr restaurant. Great food and very friendly staff. So nice, after a long, exhausting day of visits in amazing Iceland, to simply walk from your room to that restaurant and have a lovely dinner.
It was the worst stay during our trip in Iceland. It was a waste of money. The reception was not friendly at all. The room was small and not clean. The bathroom was smelling. The breakfast was a joke.
Great holiday home. Very comfortable for 6 people. Nice and quiet. Super hosts close by. Nice hot tub. Everything was great. This was one of our favourite stays in Iceland!
Breakfast was very good. The rooms were large. The shower was large. The bathroom included a towel warmer. The hotel was convenient for sites in south eastern Iceland.
Great location for visiting the southeast side of Iceland
Nice river view from the patio
Common area was nice for our group
Good sized rooms for each couple
It was so adorable and cozy to stay in the little cottages. Comfortable bed and if you wanted more, you could head to the hotel for breakfast and the bar.
