We liked the spacious, clean and very comfortable room. We were lucky that the neighboring rooms were not loud and no people shouting in the corridor. We also loved the quiet, peaceful surroundings with sheep and pasture. The beds were comfortable. We slept very well.
Staff was courteous and nice. Breakfast was of good quality and very delicious.

High quality apartment, beds great etc. Problem was getting there was a hassel of the off road time with very difficult roads. Too expensive given that. And it was a construction site, per the picture out of our window.

We stayed in Kirkjubaerjarklaustur and made day trips to the glacier and to black beach. If you have a car, it is a great place. The scenery is beautiful and it is a good location to explore the south eastern part of the island. The hotel we stayed at was outside of the town itself but was an easy drive away. Great location, especially if you are in Iceland only for couple of days, this would be one of the best choices. From this location, you can make several amazing trips to the surrounding locations. The most interesting places offered by southern Iceland are reacheble from this area as a "base camp".
