Enjoyed my stay at the Hotel Ravenna. I was only there for two nights, but it was really like three full days. After the crowds in Rome and Florence, Ravenna was a more relaxing place to stay and a place I had wanted to visit for years to see the Byzantine/Late Roman history. The hotel had the essentials for me -- good bed, shower, wifi. The staff also gave me a map and took the time to point out the location of the main sites in relation to the hotel. In addition to seeing the five UNESCO World Heritage sites I'd always wanted to visit, I was able to get to at least six of the other historic sites that are ticketed separately. The hotel is close to the train station and bus hub, which was convenient for taking the morning train to Classe to see things there and then taking the bus back. Walking under the train station to the other side is the Darsena area with a walk along the waterway that is being developed with places to eat. Was also able to catch a bus to the Punta Marina/Lido Adriano beach for part of the day and back. Though the hotel is east of the heart of the historic town, there are also restaurants right beside it on the corner across from the train station. The hotel also allowed me to leave my bag there until my evening train to Bologna on my last day, which was very helpful.

A Walker's Paradise Filled with Charming Surprises
Once a capital of the Western Roman Empire, Ravenna is a walker’s paradise and is home to several historical landmarks, magnificent mosaics, great fashion outlets, and charming streets lined with cafés, restaurants and bars.
Piazza del Popolo is considered the heart of Ravenna and was historically the civil and administrative centre of the city. It features the 15th-century Palazzetto Veneziano, the 17th-century Palazzo Comunale, and the 18th-century clock tower.
The most popular landmarks in the city are San Vitale, Mausoleo di Galla Placida, Basilica of Sant'Apollinare Nuovo and Dante Alighieri’s Tomb, whilst the Cervia Thermal Baths and Mirabilandia theme park are great options for a day trip.
After a day of discovery and sightseeing, be sure to head towards the coast for a revitalising swim or relaxing sun bathe at one of the several beaches scattered along the coastline of the Adriatic Sea.
Ravenna Station offers direct routes to Bologna and Rimini. Booking.com offers a range of accommodation options in Ravenna, Cervia, Milano Marittima and throughout the Emilia-Romagna Region.
Ravenna is a quiet and cultured city. A lovely place to enjoy lengthy walks with interesting historic buildings on a human scale. We felt welcome and safe throughout our stay.
Ravenna is particularly famous for its links with Dante, whose presence pervades the city, and for mosaics, some amazing examples of which can be seen at the local Art Gallery.
We were lucky with the timing to enjoy an evening of "Commedia dell'Arte" at the beautiful local Teatro Alighieri (Dante again!) and we also loved eating alfresco in the plentiful outdoor restaurants and ice-cream parlours.

Ravenna is a quiet and charming town.
Ravenna is a quiet and charming town. I enjoyed visiting the mosaics and sitting in a cafe frequented by many local people. I felt like I got a more authentic view of life in Italy than in Rome or Florence. It was a relaxed visit.

We were on a one night stay to take a cruise and had we known how charming, clean, safe and lovely Ravenna is, we’d have planned for a few more days there rather than Venice. The food was delicious and the wine 🍷

The old town where the many restaurants and shops reside is 5 or 10 minutes walk from the train station. The Maison 26 family owned hotel was outstanding. The old town is very walkable and beautiful. Cabs are scarce so book ahead if wanting transportation to cruise ship.

Ravenna was better than I expected.
Ravenna was better than I expected. We arrived by cruise ship and instead of rushing off to another city (Venice or Bologna) we chose to spend one night in Ravenna. Accomodations were near the train station and the historic churches and sites. Ravenna has beautiful mosaics in several locations and a well organized tour pass system that is easy to access.

Wonderful place! It was so very pretty and historic.
Wonderful place! It was so very pretty and historic. The city allows you to visit the museum of Alighieri Dante, one of the most important poet in Italy's culture. Also you can visit the Dante Alighieri's tomb. The city have a lot of bar to drink, seat and listen music, restaurants to eat the excellent and traditional italian food (for example piadina).
The hotel was very clean, there was a lot of choice at breakfast, staff very helpful and kind. price was ok if you compare location and service to other hotels . The best thing apart from this is the location. Right in the centre, can walk to all the sites easily, surrounded by restaurants, cafés and shops. Just a 10minute walk to the train station. And so in my mind makes it the best choice compared to other hotels I looked at on here and saw while staying in Ravenna. Would definitely stay here again.
Central location right around the corner from main square; hotel provided access thru a pedestrian zone and also free parking on the street right outside the front door. The whole place has been recently renovated and was totally clean.
Breakfast was good, service excellent, host allowed us t leave our luggage inside the office area while we toured Ravenna before leaving in the following afternoon. Ravenna is a great walking town, with an extensive pedestrian only zone; Prosperous, well-organized.
This was a great place to stay in Ravenna for a couple of days of Ravenna Jazz concerts. The location was close to the theater and main piazza, also an easy walk from the train station. But it also a few blocks from the piazza, and therefore quieter. The room was small and basic, but clean, with a good bathroom and good bed. Breakfast offerings were fine. The Diana is a small hotel, you feel like you are getting personal service. It is a very good deal, overall. The price was great!
This Bed and Breakfast was wonderful. The service is fantastic, the breakfast was generous and delightful, the property was immaculate, upgraded bedding, waterfall shower, and the location is right in the midst of the tourist activities. The service really made this Inn outstanding. It was the best we have stayed in throughout all of Italy. Ravenna is also a delightful town full of history, art and culture.
We were warmly greeted by Anna. She gave us mainly helpful tips for touring Ravenna and provided us a map as well as use of a travel guide in English. We also appreciated her restaurant recommendations. Also, breakfast at the hotel was top-notch.
For parking, we can recommend nearby Garage Navoni. We were provided a discounted rate as guests of Casa Masoli. Antonio is a wizard at parking Tetris!
This is a great place, perfect for our stay. The room, including the bathroom, was very large and well appointed, clean and nicely decorated. The staff (owners) were helpful and absolutely charming, even hoisting our luggage to our 2nd story room. Breakfast was outstanding with a high quality buffet and made to order eggs. Location is perfect, close to the train and all the best features of Ravenna.
Real espresso and cappuccino , this is almost exceptional because most hotels now just put a stupid machine in the breakfast room. In Italy a good coffee made by a real person is what I go for!
I found very sweet “welcome bag’ in the room for my little dog, what can I say? it did move me. No extra charge, but love!
Very nice stuff, exceptionally friendly and helpful
We booked the hotel for a place to stay to run the Ravenna Marathon. The staff of the hotel went out of their way to make us comfortable. It was the perfect place to stay with a close walk to the beginning and end of the run as well as a five minute walk from the train station. The staff was amazing and treated us so nicely. Couldn't ask for anything more.
The appartman is spacious and very lovely decorated. Perfect for a longer stay, has all the equipment for it including washing machine. On the street there was always a free parking spot. The city centre is close even by foot and the beaches are about 15 minutes by car. If you are with car in Ravenna this is your place!
We stayed for one night before going in a cruise! Hotel is in a perfect location for restaurants and bars in Ravenna. Staff were attentive to any needs. Lovely areas to sit in the hotel and enjoy a drink! Girl at reception organised taxis for us to go to the port! I would recommend staying here!
Yulia was very friendly owner of the hotel and she made our stay very pleasant. Excellent breakfast, very close to historical and nicely kept clean hotel, I would recommend this hotel and would love to come back next time in Ravenna!
Very convenient for visiting Ravenna especially as private car parking is available at the hotel. It’s a standard hotel and met expectations, staff were friendly and the rooms were basic but very clean and comfortable.
The Minerva is a gem of a hotel "due passi" from the rail station. This was our second stay (the first was three years ago), and we would recommend it to anyone, especially those arriving by train.
The room was a bit small. But the bed was comfortable. The hotel is charming and clean. The people were very nice and accommodating. I will stay again if I am in Ravenna.
A very special place to stay, located right in the center of Ravenna and yet very calm. The room was very tidy and comfy. I would highly recommend this hotel!
