Very pretty little old town with very friendly people.
Very pretty little old town with very friendly people. There are some nice shops and many, many restaurants offering good food, particularly fish. Prices are comparable to any other tourist resort in the area. There is an interesting castle and many little ancient alleyways in the old part of town. In summer one can swim off the beach at the far end of town. It is a good location for short trips to other towns and villages along the lake by car, bus or ferry/boat. Public transport is reasonable but can be tricky getting from the airport. The taxi is much faster but will cost €85 each way.

Torri del Benaco is just one of the pretty lakeside villages on Lake Garda, it is not so busy as other towns but does have a bit of a beach. There is a lovely lakeside walk with several restaurants offering delicious pizzas and pasta alongside tasty fish dishes. Our favourite was Ristorante Alla Grotta which has a superb terrace out over the lake but do be aware that if you want a lakeside table it is best to book in advance as this is a very popular restaurant - even at the beginning of June. Wonderful sunsets from any lakeside restaurant cap a lovely meal There is a bus service along the lake and a car ferry which also takes foot passengers, travels between Torri and Modena (across the lake) but the more tourist trip boats are few and far between at Torri so if you are looking for trips around the lake you will need to go to Garda where you will find a regular service going in several directions. Garda is a 10 minute drive by car from Torri and there is parking quite close to the boat station.

It's a cute village which has developed to service tourists but is not as crowded as the other places on the Lake. We ate half board in our guest house so only ate out locally twice - and those meals were ok but not as good as the Casa. Everything is walkable and cars are banned from the centre, so you get off the local bus or taxi stop a couple of minutes away, which worked really well. We were able to travel to other towns around the lake by local bus but be aware that the bus service gets very crowded and unpleasant at peak times and sometimes there were cancellations, so we took a taxi a couple of times to visit nearby places. Day trips across the Lake were fun by ferry. We also visited the Santuario Madonna della Corona at Monte Baldo, which was amazing. It's in an alpine location with the church cut into the rock and a beautiful camino (Way of the Cross) through the valley to reach it, with bronze statues depicting each Station. It took about 25 minutes to walk down (we are slow) but it might be wise to take the shuttle bus from the sanctuary back up the hill, which costs a couple of euros but completely worth it.

The accommodation was very nice. Beginning from the warm welcome of the family, to the furniture and the decoration of rooms it was a pleasure to stay there. Especially the view from the house was beautiful. We are thinking about staying there again. So, therefore we would recommend that apartment to everyone.AlenaGermany - 10Scored 10

A few minutes bus ride beyond the town of Garda, Torri del Benaco provides lovely hotel accommodation at Gardesena Hotel right on the waterfront and a number of lakeside restaurants offering traditional italian seafood, pasta and main courses. Bardolini is the local delicious red wine and there are ferries and buses from here to different towns and beauty spots round the lake. A small but perfectly-formed resort village.

We visited other beautiful towns during our stay, including Malcesine and Limone, but liked Torri best, as it felt just as beautiful with fewer tourists. It has many waterfront restaurants and a great harbor with olive trees, ducks and occasional swans, and colorful boats. Lisa was an outstanding host. She really made us feel at home. The pool was clean and a nice size. The break fast room overlooked the lake. They had a decent variety if food, fresh fruits. The room smelled very nice and looked like it was renovated recently. If you have been to Gardalake you know parking can be an issue. They had a large parking lot that was easily accessible. Not to forget how nice and wonderful the staff was. The staff, the spacious comfortable appartments, the lakeview from the balcony, the pool, the easy reachable lakeshore (just a steep stair downhill from the appartments) and the very lovely and not too touristy town of Torri del Benaco with shops and lakeshore-restaurants only 10 minutes walk away. And the sunset is magnificent both seen from the balcony, the poolarea or the lakeshore. Warm reccomendations from us!!!

The location is excellent, and you can walk along the shore to reach Torri del Benaco. Torri del Benaco is, by the way, a perfect little town that you must not miss.
