We were on the Via Francigena walking to Rome and as we had...
We were on the Via Francigena walking to Rome and as we had done a shorter day's walk we were able to check out the archaeology. The Etruscan and Roman remains and the church in the cave were very interesting. The town is also very picturesque and we took advantage of the bar and the ice cream parlour in the square by the old gateway. It was very peaceful and car free with the old fountain. We ate at the Sfero d'Oro also in that square and particularly enjoyed the tasty ravioli.

When you've read the comments then you know that you get a room in the house where the owner and his dog (a very sage rather old dog) also lives. The (big) bathroom is shared with the other room. Very clean. Friendly owner who speaks very good English. He likes to prepare you a dinner in the evening. In the morning you get a cup of coffee and biscuits. He arranged a luggage transfer for me to the next hotel, so I could carry-on the via Francigena with al light small backpack.dannyBelgium

Ideal for couples and also for young families, thanks to the additional sofa - bed. Spotlessly clean with close attention to detail and wonderfully cool as it is built in to the tufo at the base of Sutri. It is just opposite the archeological park and the walk up to the piazza is short and beautifully picturesque! Thank you Chloe and Federico! Our stay was brief but very, very sweet!

The location was perfect and right opposite the park with amphitheatre. A short walk up the road (2 mins) took you to sutri centre which was beautiful and peaceful. Both my son and I have certain dietary requirements and a big breakfast was available with lots of choices. She had got soya milk and yoghurt in specially. Also the coffee was excellent. We ate breakfast outside on a pretty terrace in the sunshine.
