Nothing. No one was there to meet us. He had to telephone someone to open the doors. Then the Wi-Fi didn’t work. It worked if we were on the balcony. We were told breakfast was at 7. It was at 8 and was all cold food. We were told it started at 7 and there would be hot food. Like eggs. There were not. The ac didn’t work. It was hot. Sleeping was difficult.

Donatella is a gracious and warm host, providing us with a lovely room, spacious bathroom with great shower and a bottle of delicious spumante.
Private parking, comfortable bed, very secure home and beautiful view from the terrace are a few great qualities.
We had to leave a bit earlier than planned so Donatella packaged up a lovely selection of breakfast treats for us.

Melito di Porto Salvo was not one of the desired stops in our driving tour of beautiful Calabrian towns (I Borghi piu belli d'Italia) but rather simply an overnight stop between two clusters of those towns. It is not, in our view, an especially beautiful town. Similarly, we booked Villa Sul Mare simply as a serviceable en route accommodation and our expectation aligned with reality. It is serviceable but not, again in our view, a destination accommodation. It's a 7; does the job but best suited for a one-night stay.

The staff, food, apartment, the beautiful gardens, cleanliness, location, hospitality. There is nothing not to like. I have stayed at the B&B nine times since 2014. It is definitely my paradise.
