If you are in Pisa then the first stop is probably to snap a memorable picture of the famous Leaning Tower. Arrive early and you just might get a chance for a solo shoot! Go beyond this legendary experience and discover a maze of ancient cathedrals, buildings and squares in this historic town.
From the Pisa Centrale Train Station, the 30-minute walk to the Campo dei Miracoli is along a pedestrianised street packed with shops and restaurants. If you head outside the touristy area you will start to uncover the atmosphere created from the some 60,000 students who study here.
Appreciate masterful art at Museo di San Matteo and Romanesque architecture at the San Paolo a Ripa d'Arno, San Michele in Borgo and San Paolo Churches. If your feet are tired, then hop on and off one of the site-seeing buses to get a different look at the the Piazza dei Miracoli or Cathedral of St. Ranieri.

Pisa is not exactly a city to travel to with a small child.
Pisa is not exactly a city to travel to with a small child. There are not many activities for children, we did not find any playgrounds available in our area. When it is too hot, you have nowhere to hide from the sun. Piazza dei Miracolli is packed with tourists who have no respect for small children who need to hide from the sun (we arrived on 11.6.). For entertainment, we traveled to Florence, where my son was at the Da Vinci Museum and the Pinnocchio Toy Museum the next day. A children's menu is also not easy to find and when you ask for dry pasta for a child or just with tomato sauce, they say they do not have it. Adults who feel like exploring, they definitely have something to do, you can walk around here, it is fine for 2 days, maybe even three. Another bonus to the airport - there is an overpriced train from there, about 6 minutes to the station. Regardless of the fact that the city is close by on foot, if you walk a little, you will come across a shop where you can buy a bus ticket and it is therefore significantly cheaper. The sad thing is that right at the airport you will find a notice that it is not possible to buy a ticket for public transport in Pisa at the airport.Guest review byNoraSlovakia - 6.0

Pisa is not the most interesting city when in Tuscany, we stayed there because we flew in and out of Pisa. Visiting the Leaning Tower is a nightmare, huge crowds and too many sellers everywhere trying to sell you their cheap stuff. Obviously the area around the tower is very touristy, but it’s a wonderful city with a lot of young people, fun nightlife and some little gems waiting to be found. Charming Italian town with famous Leaning Tower, which is just a small piece of local attractions. Airport is in the walking distance from the main part of town (train station) - no really need to pay for transport (if you don't have really big luggage). Plenty of beautiful, tiny streets full of cozy restaurants with delicious and really cheap Italian specialties and ice-creams! 30 minutes by local bus (line no. 10) you can reach the sea coast - beautiful beaches and warm sea! been in pisa 1 day. that was fine, nothing much about the city in my opinion. in 2/3 days you would be done. i've seen some really nice churches, the tower of pisa of course, its beautiful, but nothing special. after 3 hours of walking around i went back and was pretty much done and thought i've seen everything. the day after i walked from my B&B near the tower of pisa to the airport and i was pretty much right. everything looks the same pretty much if you really love church architecture, and art definitely go here, im happy i've seen it, but after 5 minutes at the tower of pisa its getting quite boring with all the people thereGuest review byStefan Ferdinand
