We had a great stay with the coolest person on earth- Cristiano. The rooms were just fine, breakfast was good and for the extras- find out when you are there. The Restaurant recommendation for dinner was very good as well.
Il Colle del Barone in Capoterra provides accommodations with free bikes, a garden, and a shared lounge. Featuring mountain and city views, this bed and breakfast also offers free Wifi.
Il Giardino dell'Arte offers accommodations in Capoterra, 12 miles from National Archaeological Museum of Cagliari and 12 miles from Sardinia International Fair.
If you have a car you can explore beaches. It was August so many beaches were quite full, and normally you had to call to book.
We went without calling and almost always found a spot somewhere (2 sunbeds and beach umbrella). It is impossible to stay on the beach with 33 degrees without an umbrella. Bring your own or rent one (in August the prices are high -50 euros).
Only Spiagga Tuerreda was completely full and we would have to queue to get in.
An interesting beach is Spiaggia di Nora (it also has 2 restaurants and archelogical site), so you can spend whole day there.
Some beaches are reserved by the hotels nearby and you cannot use them- normally in one bay there are two or three beaches, one to book, one free, one from the hotel.
I loved that you could see flamingos everywhere (from the highway, near beaches, next to our hotel).
I would avoid going again in August though - it was too hot go walking in the city , to go birdwatching and cycling in the flamingo park (Molentargius)...Also, prices were much higher than out of season.

We really liked the discussions with Antonio and his wife about the island of Sardinia and local culture and history. They recommanded us very good restaurants and places to visit in the region. Capoterra is only about 15-minute drive from Cagliari.

A better place to stay at the end of our trip, far away from ugly buildings in the center of Cagliari, the ugly port and giant chemicals companies in the vicinity.
One needs to drive over 40mn to get to nice beaches and scenery of big mountains + olive groves.
Parking at most beaches at the end is 8 € !
Sardinia is excellent for swimming in beautiful and clear ocean water.
Still have to be carful of where one swims as there is alwys a bad smell of maybe "sewage" going to the ocean!!
We enjoyed the quiet location of Villa Zola. Staying in Poggio dei Pini gave us a feel of life in a Sardinian village. The villa has an interesting design which we liked a lot, i.e. plenty of light, roundish walls and ceilings, stairs, balconies with views over the mountains and the sea, spacious rooms and bathrooms. For breakfast there is a nice selection for various tastes and we didn't miss anything. The hosts were very friendly and helpful with sightseeing planning, arranging transportation, etc. We appreciate their commitment a lot.
The house itself is very nice, taken care of, with gras and nice place to sit. The pool is also very nice, it goes gradiently deeper so very good for children. Also very important: you can use the Pool all the time!! Also during the night. This is something rare :). The interior is a bit updated but clean. Breakfast is pretty simple, full of sweets. The beautiful beaches are at least 30 min away, either way so you definitely need a car. All in all a good place to stay and visit the South of Sardinia.
Stuff was friendly, Michelangelo especially.
The dinner buffet was surprisingly good.
They have a nice pool with sunbeds under the sun and big sofas under shadow, which was great in the mornings.
Very good water flow in the rooms.
We also liked Luchia - a lovely fluffy cat that would show up in the mornings to demand some attention, and eventually, you can see her in the evening, but only if she's in a mood.
The flamingos were in the lagoon in front of the hotel when we visited
Luca and his wife are exceptional hosts who made us feel at home right from the start. The room and whole house are extremely clean and well maintained. It is truly a place for relaxation and great service.
Luca made our first stay in Sardinia extra special by providing us with useful information about the area, good restaurants, beaches and parking places, in order to make it all easier when visiting unknown places.
We are sure we will come back again!
We can only agree with the previous comments. The hosts were very welcoming and helped with every request we had. The apartment/property was super clean and charming. Free water, tea and coffee were available for free in the room and the common room! The area is quiet, perfect for relaxing and well located for visiting Cagliari and the beaches around (~40min+).
We spent several days in these apartments. The apartments are located in a quiet area close to center of Capoterra.
The owner of the apartments is very hospitable, responds quickly to any requests, tried to make our stay as comfortable as possible. Thanks to him for these few unforgettable wonderful days in Capoterra.
The location of the B&B is perfect for discovering Sardinia with a car - quiet, safe neighborhood, shops, petrol station, restaurants near etc. The hosts we're very friendly and helpful - they recommend us what places to visit, where to dine, where to shop etc. Great breakefast, nice room, recommend!
The property itself was in a great, safe location outside of Cagliari. Very easy to get to! The host, Antonio, was very kind, gracious and helpful. He answered any and all of our questions. The property was beautiful, and the breakfast outside was such a nice touch.
Beautiful place. The room looks like it is brand new. Great location. Minutes from the beach. Great restaurants. Minutes from Cagliari. The host was very accommodating. The room was spotless and cleaned everyday. We loved it so much we extended our stay.
Settled in a quiet and beautiful area, a fondly maintained historical house and it’s surrounding, the best breakfast in Sardegna with even home made yoghurt and marmalade, the best and well-informed host. highly recommend.
Quiet and great location to reach the beautiful beaches south west of Cagliari avoiding the stress to pass through the center. Big rooms and comfortable bedding. Good breakfast and dinner too!
Great place to stay, close to the beach, and it's super easy to get the bus into Cagliari. Very friendly and helpful hosts, the pool was amazing and just what you need on a hot day.
