Brilliant room, spacious with a kitchenette which was great. Large bathroom and shower had amazing water pressure.
The lock to our room broke and the receptionist got straight on to it and got someone to fix it within 30mins.
Location of the hotel is right in the centre making walking to the beach, ferry terminal, sights all easy.
We were able to find our own parking easily on the street a 10 minute walk away on Corso Italia. You can use the easy park app to pay, meaning we could add time from our phone if we needed to extend. Car park has an amazing bakery next to it too.

All the staff were extremely efficient and friendly.
Kite-shaped Trapani makes an impressive sight from lofty Mount Erice, connected to the peninsula below by cable car. On a clear day, the mountain also offers views of Tunisia - one destination of ferries from Trapani Port, alongside Cagliari, Pantelleria and the offshore Egadi Islands.
Overlooking the port is the old town, where arched doorways on narrow streets open onto many cheap apartments and B&Bs on Booking.com. Shabby chic façades sit alongside historic churches, such as understated Trapani Cathedral, somewhat lost amid elegant Corso Vittorio Emanuele, where pavement cafes sit in front of pastel-coloured buildings and metal balconies.
At the tip of the peninsula is the fortress-like Tower of Ligny lighthouse, now housing the Prehistory and Sea Museum. The Colombaia Castle protects the port from an island to the south, while in the other direction the sweeping coastline passes some beachfront hotels with swimming pools.
Villa Margherita Park offers shade from the Mediterranean sun, and Triton’s Fountain graces a neighbouring square. The simple façade of the Basilica of Maria Santissima Annunziata hides the treasures within, including a statue of the Madonna of Trapani which is at the heart of the Easter ‘Misteri’ celebrations.
Between the city and Trapani-Birgi Airport, historic windmills sit beside salt pans. The Salt Museum provides details of this major industry.

We found the people friendly, the food great and the beaches nice. We walked up the hill to Erice, which was also unique and worth seeing. We also went on a boat tour from the port to see Levanzo and Favignana, which was great. The food was absolutely brilliant, and also inexpensive. Coffee lovers will also have no shortage of choices. Cafe fredo was my wife's favourite. Just remember to take the mosquito repellent and be ready to drink lots of bottled water!

Good but small city, you can entirely visit the old town in less than a day, the city does give you access to beautiful places like Favignana and Erice but to get there is a bit complicated. Very complex public transport system to get to those places (Erice, Castellamare, Palermo, Marsala) with a lot of different companies offering different routes, not very modern as its tough to get precise schedules through the internet or apps.
The bus system of the city itself is pretty good though once you understand that you can use moovit and dropticket.
A lot of terrific food options in the city but nothing is very cheap, continental prices are the norm.
All in all a good city to visit for a day, a great city to stay in if you have a car and plan on visiting the surrounding area.

Trapani is a great "normal" town- not too touristy. There are great restaurants, good shopping, and you can reach a lot of wonderful places such as Erice, San Vito lo Capo, the Egadi Islands, Marsala and loads more. There are beaches, churches, ports...a bit of everything but at a relaxed level.

Perfect town for a short break or for a beach holiday, the town is in between a harbor and the beach. The city centre is vibrant, lots of restaurants and bars. The surrounding areas worth a visit if you are interested in arts, nature or simply laze on the beach.
People are friendly, the food spectacular!
We made a mistake and spent here only one night (last one). That place was the best, exactly what we were looking for. You could feel, you're in Sicily:) Not "nice and shiny" IKEA style, met in any city. If you like it that way, not for you. Beautiful painting of local artist (his studio right across) in our room, small side street, quiet. With awesome local bakery near by. Thank you Mariela, we loved your place:) sorry for such a late review.
Property is in a beautiful renovated old building right in the middle of everything. Step out and find everything in Trapani’s historic center just steps away, and the beach is only a couple of blocks away as well. Aside from its convenience and value, we especially enjoyed meeting the lovely Serena, who was super helpful with tips about where to go — she was a wealth of information and all her recommendations were just perfect.
Great hosts who made me feel most welcome. I was in an apartment which was super clean and equipped with everything you could need, including a washing machine. The mattress was the best I have slept on in Sicily. Great location - you just are so close to the main passiagata area and to the water on each side and the bus stop. Lovely breakfast served in a dining area. Thank you for your great hospitality.
Mostly everything, the host was super nice and very spontaneous in communication. So far in our week sicily trip, this was the best flat so far. Everything in order, neat and clean. The host was also kind enough to welcome us with some snacks and everything you need in kitchen is there. Very comfortable stay for both hot/cold weather. Location was very close to the water and city.
The apartment was well-appointed and had a wonderful view of the ocean. It was a great base for exploring Sicily's north-western beaches and islands.
We really appreciated the air-conditioning, washing machine and strong water pressure. Andrea was the perfect host and extremely helpful throughout our stay.
We highly recommend!
Wow, what a beautiful home base for visiting Trapani, the Egadi Islands, Erice, and San Vito Lo Capo. Agostino and staff were attentive, helpful, and friendly. The best parts of staying in a family home and a boutique hotel. I only wished we'd spent more time here and enjoyed the pool and cocktails.
Perfect location if travelling late flight to Trapani airport, only 8 minutes' drive! Safe and convenient parking inside the premises. Good breakfast served in our room and very good Wi-Fi. Certainly, will go back if visiting the area. Friendly and understanding owner. Very clean allover.
Really enjoyed staying at La Gancia. The concierge, Andrea, was super helpful. We took all his recommendations to enjoy Trapani - the restaurants (La Perla), Cable car to the top of Erice, sunset and a beer on the hotel rooftop - and we had a wonderful time. Highly recommend this hotel.
Really nice apartment right between the beach and the main corso. Laura is very helpful and had even arranged for us a boat tour to Favignana, captained by her dad, which was one if the best experiences of our entire Sicily roadtrip. Can highly recommend tha place, real pleasure.
We enjoyed our stay in Trapani so much! Apartment was pretty big and clean, our host was very helpful with everything we needed. Apartment also had big terrace to sit on in the summer evenings. I can surely recommend this apartment and I'm looking forward to come back to Sicily!
Very friendly staff, they complied with everything. The interior design of the hotel is perfectly harmonized. High-quality breakfast, coffee as you would expect in Italy! Very good location, in 5-7 minutes you are in the historic Centro, in another 5 on the beach.
This is a wonderful apartment in a beautiful center area of Trapani near the old town. Newly renovated, super clean with fully equipped kitchen. Close to the beach. We will definitely be back and stay longer, great place to explore Sicily!
To sum up: beautiful and comfortable apartment, with all amenities, wonderfully located and spotless clean.
The host is super friendly and could not have been more helpful.
The best accomodation we had travelling through Sicily.
The location was in the heart of Trapani, Sicily. The room was spacious and the windows were looking at the inner court. The check-in and check-out was very smooth. The owner was very nice and helpful.
Clean, exceptionally spacious and peaceful room. Exceptional, for Sicily/Italy, breakfast. Historic building well converted. Proximity to the historic centre and the seaside walk.
Staff was great, good breakfast and hotel was very clean. The view from the room was incredible. The pool was nice and the Trapani Tonnara ruins are right there...a nice walk
Probably one of the most interesting properties we stayed in in Sicily. We had a beautiful view. Breakfast was generous and we ate outside by the pool. Wonderful staff!!!!
Very friendly hosts, exceptionally clean and great breakfast with homemade foods. Really enjoyed my time, best place we stayed in sicily. Great value for money
