If you are earmarked for activities in Sorrento and the Amalfi coast destinations like Positano, Amalfi etc. It is better to stay in Sorrento proper. Piano di Sorrento is a neighboring town and taxis are costly. Best way to go to Sorrento and other places is by train. Meta train station is the nearest one from the hotel and it is a 15 minute walk.
However, it is cheaper to stay here than in Sorrento. So this factor can be an incentive to stay in Piano di Sorrento. The hotel is a boutique hotel. Clean, very good staff and a decent breakfast.

It was a great place to stay for us.
It was a great place to stay for us. Quieter than Sorrento, with really good local restaurants and great access to bus and train.
The wider area was very busy at the time of our stay and I’d avoid early-mid September in future.
But Piano is a great place to stay for visiting other parts of Sorrento peninsula.

The public beach is one of the better ones on the peninsula...
The public beach is one of the better ones on the peninsula and not as croweded as the ones in Meta or in Sorrent, but lacks most facilities (no public showers, like in Spain or Portugal), yet offer impressive views. The Lido(Bagnia Tina) is also good, except for the loud music. Sadly, but typical fo the region, the city is not very walkable, due to the lack of pedestrian paths, except for the main alles connecting the train Station with the beach.
Ideal point if you want a beautiful landscape(Lemon plantations!) and affordable Restaurants(compared to Sorrent ~20 percent less, although there is not that much variety in Piano itself , mostly Pizza places)
Piano is a convenient location for day trips to Capri(Laser Capri offers great prices down in the harbour of Piano), the Amalfi coast and Pompeji&Herculaneum. The Airport is easily reached with the Cuerri Viaggio Transfer Service (extremly cheap but comfortable).
There are two super markets close to the shore and a small "strip mall" close to the train station&Corso Italiano and a pharmacy.

Piano do Sorento Is a small town just outside of Sorrento (...
Piano do Sorento Is a small town just outside of Sorrento (20 mins away by train). Piano di Sorento is accessible by train from Naples. The beach is a short walk from the main town and is accessible by a lift at certain times of the day for a small fee, or walking via a large steep road. There is a selection of restaurants and bars in the town which the local residents frequent and we enjoyed delicious food and wine here too, in particular the restaurant Osteria Palazzo Maresca, where the food and service was outstanding. Not all the people here are friendly and do not appear to like foreigners so be aware of this. Also the roads are busy and drivers of cars and scooters will not stop for you even at designated a crossings. It is helpful to learn some Italian words and phrases as not all the local people will speak basic English if any at all. I would recommend visiting the next town of Sant’Agnello as it is very beautiful and peaceful.

It really is the quieter option of the Amalfi coast and just as lovely as it's more touristy cousins. There is a great market on Mondays selling fruit and vegetables, olives and cheeses and breads to all sorts of clothing, shoes and house hold goods.
There are also a couple of beaches and waterside restaurants. Few were open on the Monday but the one we found in town was just perfect.
St Michael the archangel basilica was also very beautiful and had really interesting doors. The villa that is now a museum was also a nice place to go for an evening stroll overlooking the Marina and sea.

Beautiful apartment with everything you’ll need for your stay. The showers were hot, the balcony was a nice place to eat breakfast, and we appreciated having the washing machine. It’s a big apartment!
Felice was very attentive and communicative via WhatsApp.
Piano di Sorrento is a quieter town 2 train stops away from Sorrento, it was easy once we figured out the transport and also nice to have a cheaper place to eat dinners. We used this as our home base for day trips to Caprì, Pompeii, Sorrento, and Amalfi.
Would 100% recommend!
+ The apartment is close to the center of Piano di Sorrento and about 10 min of walk from the train station.
+ The host was very welcoming. She took us with the car from the train station and gifted us some fresh lemons from the garden. Irene helped us with any question we had.
+ The apartment was very clean and cozy. It was actually better than the photos.
+ The kitchen had every thing you need.
+ The rooftop of the building has a beautiful panorama of the sea.
+ I would definitely stay here again
We loved our stay at The Secret Garden. This beautiful old house is in a wonderful location. It is quiet and so peaceful; the occasional bells from the nearby church are charming. The garden is gorgeous and the scent from the flowers amazing. The rooms are spacious and have ample plugs, make sure you have the correct adaptor. The beach is a 5 minute walk although a steep walk. The staff are wonderful particularly Gennario who couldn;t do more to help us. Above and beyond is an understatement.
The hotel is unbelievably beautiful and very conveniently located. I feel like we got the best deal in Sorrento (we compared prices with many other hotels and Air BnBs and this was one of the cheapest but far nicer than anything else we looked at. The breakfast on the terrace was so lovely each day and all of the staff were really friendly. The beaches in Piano are also very nice, it was insanely hot while we were there so it was nice to be able to walk down to the beach whenever we needed!
Such a wonderful place to stay - great location (close to the waterfront) with restaurants and supermarkets within walking distance, lovely, spacious, well-equipped, accommodation with a great air-con and very secluded, private garden, and cats! The hosts were brilliant, very knowledgeable and welcoming. They even posted some clothing we left in the property back to the UK. 10/10. Would recommend to anyone looking to stay in the Sorrento region.
Very good location. 5 minute walk to train station for a 5 minute train to sorrento or naples. Staff were incredibly helpful. Raffaele gave us loads of restaurants to go to and ideas of things to do and Maria was very helpful also. They even offered for drive us to the other side of amalfi coast when we were leaving. Definitely a better option than going for something wildly more expensive in sorrento. It's a decent place for the price.
The place is very clean and comfortable, the hotel is located in an area which is not very busy but it has private parking, restaurants and supermarket nearby. We were so pleased with the staff, good hearted and positive people... we were late for our check in and they didn't even complain about it, only informed us through booking, email, message and even phone called as they were worried about us. Reasonably priced too.
The room No.2 has a balcony with fish port view. When we arrive it was the sunset hours so stunning! And there’s a beach right next to the hotel, also ferry to Capri. I can imagine if walking to the hotel could be a bit far from public transport specially with luggage, but we rent a Vespa make our stay 100% perfect! Even have scooter parking right in front of our room! Can’t ask anything more! We love it so much!
Casa Holiday Apartment is located less than 10 minute walk from Piano Sorrento train station. Piano Sorrento itself has excellent dining options and shops with reasonable prices. While the scenic sandy Meta beach is in walking distance the train shortens the journey 😊 The apartment being close to trains makes a central location to all attractions,Sorrento, Postiano, Amalfi, Pompei, Herculaneum.
Amazing location with a beautiful view, in the middle of citrus groves
The family was very hospital and friendly, we had homemade cake and limoncello as a gift, they helped us with our car and luggage, very nice people.
The home itself is quite spacious and clean, and there is everything you need.
Walkable distance to Piano di Sorrento center with shops and local restaurants
It was bright and clean with good bathroom facilities. The location was very convenient for restaurants and shops in Piano di Sorrento; also, very close to a bus stop for the 6-8 minute ride to Sorrento station. The aircon worked very well as did the TV. Also had a well-working fridge. I would give a higher rating if they fixed the lights in the elevator.
Francesco was exceptional!! he helped us with information around sorrento and got us all comfortable in our room!! answered all our questions and was so professional and helpful! excellent customer service
all the staff was really nice too
the breakfast was great fresh croissants and coffee n fruit n nice lady
clean and modern hotel! would come back
It was extremely clean, the team responded promptly to a few queries we had during our stay, Pasquel greeted us at the property and gave us great travel tips. Location was beautiful at the marina and right beside the lift to the top of the cliff face which is beside the property. Train station close by and also right beside restaurants and boat tours
Excellent location. In contrast to Sorrento, Piano is a real Italian spot with very few foreign tourists, but very close to everything with the commuter rail. Piano also has an excellent beach/marina with some very good restaurants and a beautiful view over the ocean and cliffs.
Excellent hosts, very kind, accommodating and responsive. Thank you!
Definitely the friendliness of the owner who is very much available and caring for the quality of the stay.
The location is really good, very central to Piano di Sorrento and very close to Sorrento.
The room is modern and I like it's style but most important of all, it was VERY clean!!! This is always important but in COVID times, more than ever.
family owned villa. Salvatore was an amazing host who always went the extra mile to help us, when needed. it is also impossible not to speak about the lovely breakfast in the morning. the location is 5-7 drive from old sorte to - where all hotels and over crowded streets are, it’s actually a really good location to be at.
We loved the spacious room / apartment with balcony and view over the sea and harbour. Comfy bed, excellent storage and facilities, delicious breakfast with fresh fruit and croissants, easy access to beaches, the sealift and only 15/20 min walk to Piano de Sorrento train station and 5 min train journey to Sorrento.
Great location, lovely view and sunsets, spacious bedroom/lounge. Helpful host. Great place to explore from and spends days resting by the beach and watching the boats come and go. Lovely restaurants in Piano. Easy transport by train, local bus.
Thank you so much
