The breakfast, food was wonderful, just how I like to eat! The staff was great and very attentive to anything we asked for. It would be nice to have a wonderful view from our room but nothing can be done about that. The rooftop deck made up for the lack of view from the room. Wonderful view from the rooftop

Sorrento is a very, very busy place with tons of tour groups. It is a great location for visiting the Amalfi Coast, Capri, and Pompeii. It is not a tranquil place so choose your location carefully. There is a stairway down to the dock level from town, but there is also a lift you can pay. We walked down the first time, but used the lift after that. A bargain for $1.

Great places to eat around town an particularly Marina Grande.
Handy for day trips to Pompei and the islands, though I didn’t go this time.
Probably the thing I liked least was the lack of free (beach) swimming options near town.

Sorrento felt like Disney Land.
Sorrento felt like Disney Land. Tourists overran it, and the food was lacking flavor. WARNING * Make sure your hotel has a shuttle because the taxis charge whatever they want, and it is 50.00 euros to go a mile. TIP: Pre-arrange transportation and negotiate your rate beforehand.
The best thing we did there was go to a cooking class!

Fantastic location in the heart of Sorrento. The hotel’s original features are amazing and the rooms are spacious and clean. Iron and a good hairdryer in the room very handy. Typical breakfast in Italy, lots of pastries. The turning down of your beds with a weather report being left each evening was a nice touch. All the staff are very friendly and helpful!
Extremely well located property, right between train station and shopping strip! This hotel is one of the best hotels I’ve stayed in during my visit in Italy! Staff are helpful and courteous. Breakfast on the rooftop was amazing with good range of selection. Love the design and cleanliness of the room as well! I felt very safe when staying here.
The Hotel Continental was definitely a luxurious stay for us, we absolutely loved having a balcony with a view of the ocean and being able to get fresh air into our room
The breakfast was the best buffet during our whole Italy trip. The roof top bar was a lovely way to start our evening. The location was exceptional and was lovely and quiet
Extra large room. Clean. Ensuite was large- shower normal size for Italy so in the smaller scale. Lovely hotel. Staff were very nice and helpful. Breakfast was excellent.
