We will definitely return to the Amalfi Coast. Numerous local activities with very easy transportation alternatives. The entire area is fantastic, locals are very friendly and willing to help in all respects.
Amalfi was more down to earth than Positano so we really liked the town a lot; would also recommend Ravello and Minori which you can do both in one day, walking from Ravello down to Minori. We also did a day trip to Capri which was really nice as well. The locals in Amalfi and surrounding were really sweet and friendly. We also went to Sorrento and Salerno but they were your typical cities, Sorrento with more things to see than Salerno. You can also do a quick trip out to Pompeii for just a couple of hours and that’s enough for the ancient city.
It's a cute lively but very touristy town. It's nice to stay for a night but it's hard to have find many local places to eat and it's all unfortunately bit overpriced. It's still nice to go for a stroll on the main road, see the cathedral and have an aperitivo there.
Amalfi is great place, although not big but very alive place, full of nice , shops, beach, restaurants, feel less touristic than other places and its location is pefect to travel around the coast and to have a very comfortable transportation services
Amalfi is like no place you've ever seen; the scenery will take your breath away! Some things to consider when traveling: the busses can be confusing, and also fill quickly during peak season. If you need to take a bus to your property, keep this in mind. During peak seasons, it is quite congested. For this reason I recommend visiting in the off-season if possible. The seafood is fresh here! Be sure to try spaghetti with clams or mussels. Expect to spend more money here than in other regions of Italy. If you prefer something more remote and quiet, I highly recommend Capri instead.
The City of Amalfi itself was fun to explore, but only requires about a day and a half until you've seen it all, and it gets crowded with tour busses on certain days. We don't regret for a minute staying there, however. It was the perfect launching point for our excursions. We could have rented a boat, multiple types of tours up and down the coast, and easy trip to Capri, etc. Since we had a rental car, we chose to stay on land and spent an entire day exploring Scala and Ravello, just a short 15 mins away from Amalfi. If we had more time, we would have visited Positano as well. There's so much to do and see, eat, drink, and enjoy in this part of Italy. The best pizza in the world that we have EVER had (and we enjoyed the same one twice) was at the Donna Stella restaurant in Amalfi. YUM! Driving was a bit stressful at times due to narrow/congested streets, but it was manageable, just take your time.
Amalfi
This was the perfect "hotel" for our 5 nights in Amalfi. Location was spectacular, steps away from the bus station and the ferry port, but no unnecessary noises at night, which made for the perfect vacation. Not to mention Enza, the host, was the most kind person I've ever met. She gave us a list of free tours for the week, refilled our mini fridge daily at no charge, called the ferry company to make sure our ferry was still running in bad weather, etc. etc. We will definitely come back and stay at Amalfi Centro.
Amalfi
amazing location with incredible panoramic views of the glorious amalfi coast from the bedroom and also the very pretty garden has so much charm! Antonio was an exceptional host, he and Nicoletta gave us a warm welcome on arrival with drinks & crucial local information to cater for every need for our trip. He couldn’t have done more for us to ensure everything went well.. local restaurant recommendations and the hotel shuttle bus was so so important and appreciated!!
My experience from the hotel is that it actually looks much better than the pictures (which was unexpected). Everything is so beautiful and the view is unbelievable, from the room, the breakfast table or pool. Breakfast is excellent. There is a free shuttle from the hotel to the center of Amalfi and back. That is really nice because you don't need to take the car, and Amalfi can be very unpleasant to drive. We didn't move the car once during our stay.
Amazing and friendly people: all Receptionists, porter, drivers (we had transfer from hotel to Amalfi city every hour), waitresses, housekeeping ladies, chiefs:-) Wonderful location- breathtaking views for Amalfi coast! Everything from the welcoming us to our check-out was incredibly fantastic! Meals were so tasty- from the breakfast to dinner! I will definitely come back here! I will also recommend that place to my friends and family.
Amalfi
Everything was superb. The view from our balcony was amazing, you need to go through some stairs but that is what Amalfi coast is about. Spotless room and toilet and you have room service every day, smells nice. Home made lemonade, delicious breakfast at the room. Just the best hotel we've stayed so far. Grazie Lina and Enzo ! We'll be back some day
excellent hotel in a wonderful location with a wonderful view of the coast. private parking. the center of Amalfi can be reached on foot or by bus (stop right next to the hotel). Comfortable rooms with everything you need. the host Christiana is very friendly and provides all the necessary information for a wonderful holiday in Amalfi.
Amalfi
Villa Maria was my favorite hotel during the stay around Amalfi Coast. The staff was nice and prepared, the location is great - close to a bus stop or parking lot so you can get to other towns in the area. The room was spacious and comfortable, the bathtub was nice and relaxing. And the breakfast by the terrace was my favorite part.
Amazing views, kind staff, incredible patio for breakfast and dinner. Location could not have been better - can walk anywhere in Amalfi town from the hotel. Beautiful pool that we wish we got to enjoy more of, but we were out and about each day we were there. 10/10 would recommend and cannot wait to go back!
Lina convento doesn’t have what you call high end finishes of a new hotel. What it does have is an abundance of charm, excellent service, extremely clean and a location to die for. The pool in the cliff side is second to none. We loved this hotel and would make another trip back to amalfi just to stay there.
Amalfi

Excellent. Very comfy and spacious room with everything you need. Breakfast on the terrace was excellent. Staff were wonderful and very helpful. Many steps to get to the room...as everywhere on the amalfi coast but well worth it. The view from the room was simply stunning

Amazing view on Amalfi coast, very kind owner, who explained us everything. She also has a large lemon farm and she served us fresh lemon juice for breakfast in the morning. There was everything home-made on the breakfast table.
very central location which was perfect. staff did a great job. the price was totally worth it. it’s not a luxury 5 star hotel. Its a modest hotel but totally worth staying, especially with a view
