Hotel Montestella is on the main street, Corso Vittorio Emanuele, in Salerno's pedestrian area. I liked everything about the property. Great location, near the old town, in the center of a lot of shops and places to eat, easy walking distance from the train station, to the waterfront promenade and ferry terminal with great access to the Amalfi coast. The wifi was consistently good. Breakfast was great, the hotel and rooms are spot less and best of all the staff were helpful and professional. Front desk staff were excellent sources of information. I really thought Jolanta at the front desk was especially cheerful and helpful. I will come back to this hotel if I return to Salerno, in fact I extended my stay while there and would definitely recommend this hotel to my friends and fellow travelers.
Novotel Salerno Est Arechi features an enviable location on the seafront, near the Arechi Stadium. It features a summer pool, a fitness center and an excellent restaurant. Parking is free. This hotel was modern. Check in and out was easy and the breakfast was great with a choice of eating inside or outside by the pool. Location was good if you had a car but nothing was within walking distance. Big parking lot right in front was a bonus.
Hotel Plaza is set in the heart of Salerno, directly opposite the railway station, and close to the bus terminal and the pretty seafront promenade. A buffet breakfast is provided daily. I stayed in this wonderful hotel for two weeks. The location was perfect, next to the train station and on the main shopping and dining street in the historical center of Salerno. It was extremely quiet due to double pane windows. The rooms are very nice and the bathrooms beautiful and spacious, having all been remodeled. Best of all is the incredible service. The staff all speak English and are extremely efficient and kind. The breakfasts were delicious in a charming dining room overlooking the walking outdoor mall. The owner, Mr. Gaitano, was always present, interacting with guests and being very helpful. He moved us immediately to a room with a large handicapped shower when we explained the need for it. My husband became very ill and was hospitalized for one week during our stay. The kindness and compassion shown by Mr. Gaitano and the staff was something that I have never experienced in any hotel despite having traveled the world many times.
Set in Salerno, 0.7 mi from Salerno Harbor, Suite Palazzo Luciani features a panoramic view terrace and air-conditioned rooms with free WiFi. Rooms have period furnishings and a flat-screen TV. Clean, super close to the beach
Located in Salerno, Hotel Bruman offers free WiFi throughout and rooms with air conditioning and a satellite flat-screen TV. Vietri sul Mare can be reached in 10 minutes by car. Lovely hotel, clean, very pleasant staff!! Seemed to be only one but he was wonderful!
On the Amalfi coast, this large hotel and spa center enjoys panoramic sea views. Its contemporary rooms are an 8 minute walk from Salerno Train Station, and 2 miles from the port. Location and facility are outstanding from all points of views! This was my second time staying at the hotel, and I am planning to return in the very near future. I have been recommending the Gran Hotel to my friends who are planning a trip to the Costiera this coming spring.

I stayed in the city center and I thoroughly enjoyed the area: good food everywhere, the sea was very close, the harbor was close too... Above all else, it's a great city to set up camp because it's way cheaper than Naples, Sorrento or Capri, which are all places worth visiting and well connected to Salerno. The vibe of the city was incredible, the perfect spot for a summer vacation in Italy.
Salerno is a coastal city newly discovered by the tourism industry. It now has direct access to Capri, boat rental options, tenders that take you to Amalfi coast towns and fishing. It has a train station in a very safe section of the city that allows you to arrive by train and walk along a vehicle free shopping praminade to your hotel or B&B. The shopping is excellent with a range of options and dining is amazing and affordable. Bar Nettuno is the best Gelato bar! Every day I ate at Salumeria del Corso which was a deli that offered inexpensive local Wine by the bottle, cold cuts, hot foods like meatballs and frittata, an assortment of sautéed veggies, fresh buffalo mozzarella and so much more!
Salerno is beautiful and once you get used to it not hard to find your way around. There are a lot of landmarks such as the water, the ports and the train station to use to get your bearings. I would wait until you get there to plan activities. Since most activities center around the water they can be cancelled at any time due to weather. This can be frustrating if you pay ahead of time as I did. The ferry rides and the bus rides are fun especially if you like amusement parks. The ferry ride is like a water ride in a wave pool and the bus ride is like a roller coaster. I found Salerno to be nice but Amalfi was a little crowded and touristy for me although also very beautiful. I could have stayed a day or two longer. It is a good value for your money.
Salerno is a small port city. The locals are out and about everywhere which adds warmth to the city. It has all the nice shops and restaurants too. But it’s a lot cheaper than bigger cities which is a big plus. Also there’s not too many people. Doesn’t feel crowded. It’s slower paced than Rome. You can relax with your family here. It seemed a little dirty with cigarette buds everywhere but that did not bother me at all or take away from its charm. It’s very easy to get around the city. Even walking. I arrived by train and everything was a short small away.
Salerno is a city that is not as full of tourists as Sorrento or Amalfi or Positano. It has great shopping, great food. Food and services are more inexpensive than other places. There is a beach and waterfront and good connections by train , bus and ferry to the rest of the Amalfi Coast. When you get on a ferry from Sorrento you’re going to have a good seat.
Chose Salerno as a base for touring the Amalfi coast because my reading indicated: it had an extensive historic old town area; it could be reached directly by train from Rome; it is less expensive than many of the Amalfi coast towns; it is well connected to the other towns by bus and ferry; and it is very walkable (not as many hills to climb). All of these things proved true & we were very happy exploring Salerno & using it as a home base.
The location is awesome, if you’re traveling to Pompeii or Amalfi. Railway station, SITA bus stand and Ferry are a few minutes walk away from the property. The bar and cafe downstairs double up as the reception. Opens at 6am and closing by midnight, so early check in- out is not a struggle. The room 101 gave us an amazing view of the Tyrrhenian Sea and the Boulevard. The old town, 10 minutes walk is a must see in Salerno. You get plenty of restaurants nearby including the one owned by the hotel.
Our stay was amazing, we were sad to only spend two nights here! The apartment is just the right size for a couple. The train station is very close by and it’s easy to get around town with lots of cool spots only minutes away. Our host was also extremely helpful, from restaurant recommendations to taxis and checking up on us after the fact to make sure our stay went smoothly. We would stay here again in a heartbeat and definitely recommend it to anyone going to Salerno. Grazie mille!
The room was absolutely clean, comfortable, and modern. Bathroom had everything we needed (towels, shampoo, shower gel) and was very clean as well. The apartment is located close to the central station, and is not far from the city center (10-15 mins of walking). The host was very nice. He gave us a number of useful tips for our journey. In the morning he arranged a breakfast with delicious croissants. I highly recommend this place if you are planning to stay in Salerno.
We loved everything about the apartment. It was in a quiet area but very close to everything. It was vey spacious with lots of facilities .Very comfortable bed and pillows. The owner was lovely. He gave us lots of relevant information and kept in touch throughout our stay. His recommended restaurants were excellent. He even took us to the train station on our last day which we were most grateful for. I would highly recommend this apartment in Salerno.
The room was comfortable and the air conditioner was cold! It was extremely hot during our stay so this was important. Our hostess was gracious and welcoming and made my husband and i feel right at home. We enjoyed our 4 night stay in this traditional Italian room. We were given vouchers for coffee and a pastry at a very close by cafe’, which we enjoyed each morning. I would certainly stay at Doddos House again for any future visit to Salerno.
There is a real understanding of what it is like to be a customer. Spotlessly clean, spacious rooms and bathrooms. Poweful air conditioning. A stunning breakfast (soo much choice all beautifully laid out for you). Warm, friendly hosts who will plan your visit to salerno for you (including recommending a very nice restaurant). These guys come across as the most wholesome, attentive and caring people.
The room was spacious, clean and comfortable, and had a small balcony that overlooked the mall area. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and we had a delicious continental breakfast served in our room each morning. The gorgeous old town is a just a 5 minute walk away, and there are great restaurants, shops and cafe all around. I would highly recommend staying here if you are visiting Salerno.
Location is very Good. Personal is really friendly, helpful, they took us from parking and driven us to The hotel, helped to carry our stuff, telled all places we have to visit. Room is perfect, enough space, clean, comfortable. There is everything you need. Amazing apartment. If some day we are going to be back in Salerno, we are definately going to pick This apartment.
Marina was the absolute best host. She made us feel very welcome and even picked us up from our late ferry in to Salerno and took the time to suggest places we should visit even though it was late. The room was spacious and the bathroom was luxurious. The whole place was spotless. I could not recommend this place more!
Everything!!!!!!!best place to stay in Salerno. Super comfortable, modern, clean, everything you need! The location is perfect! And the person that did our check in was sooooo helpful with recommendations. I recommend this place to all tourists.
The location is great, close to shops, restaurants and city center. It is also convenient to who is willing to travel around by car, the main road is closeby. The hotel has a great pool, something quite unique for Salerno’s accommodations.
The best stay in Italy. Very central, clean hotel. The Owner Paolo was very hostile. Breakfast was very good , Paolo mother's crossonts was delicious and home made jam was incredible could eat all jar. Violet and Bill Australia
The rooms were clean. Housekeeping did a great job. Flower pots were filled with half dead plants and weeds. The sitting area at the entrance of the hotel had wicker sitting that was breaking apart and no cushions.
The hostess was so friendly and perfect. Honestly one of our best stays in Italy. She made us Italian and American breakfast every day and was always so chipper and helpful. We miss her already!
What a terrific hotel - right in the middle of the city and within walking distance of everything. Clean rooms, friendly staff, good value. Would recommend to anyone visiting Salerno or Naples area.
The condo is directly in the center of the Old Salerno. Lots of good restaurants around, steps from the beach. The appartement was very clean and comfortable and very well suited for our needs.
This is a light, bright, stylish modern apartment in a great position. Communication with the manager was easy. We loved our stay in Salerno and highly recommend this place.
Carmen was very accommodating and made sure I had an excellent holiday in Salerno. The apartment was very spacious, authentic and in the right location.
Clean Very close to the Salerno station Breakfast was not included
