I loved Salerno - great base to explore the Amalie coast and Naples, without the bustling crowds. Lovely to visit the surrounding area but also great to return to the relative calm of Salerno. Plenty of eating and drinking options with a beautiful and charismatic old town - beautiful Duomo.
Salerno is excellent if you plan to visit Amalfi coast. A lot cheaper and a lot less people than the more famous towns. There's ferrys almost every hour from Salerno to Positano and Amalfi and a few other towns too. Be there from the morning cause it's a lot of people after 10.
We enjoyed the walk along the seaside and the old city center where you can find a lot of options to eat. The traffic is busy and erratic, be careful if you come here by car. The turning lights are rarely if ever used and they don't mind cutting in front of you.
Salerno is well connected to the Amalfi Coast by boat, and to southern Italy by train. It's a great base for a holiday exploring the region but not without its own charms - a splendid seashore promenade and an atmospheric old town.
Interesting italian city. Very pleasant harbour and waterfront. Great location for taking the ferry up the Amalfi coast. It is a nice city with lots of interesting streets and some good places to eat. We have very much enjoyed our trip to the Amalfi coast and we have been delighted to have chosen Salerno as our base. It's an easy going, relatively un-touristy kind of place.
I liked the shopping area, easy access to other places on Amalfi coast by ferry. People were very friendly & helpful, esp since we didn’t know language. Really like the neighborhood around where we stayed. Fruit market, bakery, grocery, & restaurants.
Salerno
Definitely lived up to the high ratings. Guido was so so helpful on so many levels: helping us arrange parking in a private garage 1 min walk from the B&B, communication was smooth & fast, gave us super helpful suggestions on where to go and what to do so that we could make the most of our short time in Salerno. The B&B is centrally located, within easy walking distance of many sites. The room was clean and spacious with a balcony, exactly as the photos indicated. One of the best places we stayed on our trip through Italy.
Salerno
Location is absolutely perfect, on the main street, close to the station and at the same time it is quiet, no street noise. Wi-fi is good, that is important, as per our experience sometimes it is weak in hotels and apartments in Italy. The room and all apartment is very clean, modern and nice. Andrea contacted us in whatsapp in advance, so we had no problems to check in. Excellent croissants and coffee for breakfast. I can highly recommend this place for a few days staying in Salerno.

Wonderful location, right at the center for dining out and perfect meeting point. The place is huge with spacious rooms and very welcoming hosts. They also have an option to eat within the hostel for reasonable prices. I highly recommend this place for its location and maintenance. Thank you Michela and Ignacio for hosting us. I wish you guys all the very best and I can't wait to meet you guys again next time I plan to come to Salerno.

The hosts were phenomenal, helpful, and kind, as was the cleaning woman. Room was very comfortable and the wifi worked well. They gave recommendations, map, tickets to local businesses and went above & beyond by helping us to print the passes for our ferry. The owner even walked with me for 15 minutes to find the street where I had abandoned my girlfriend with our luggage to go find the hotel. he also helped carry our luggage.
The hotel was located close to Porto di Salerno the ferry port and right off the Lungomare di Salerno. It is very centrally located to attractions and a few streets from the train station. The room had a large balcony on the 5th floor or so overlooking the main street "Corso Vittorio Emanuele." The breakfast was excellent and refreshing after a hot and sunny weekend.
Angelo was the most helpful person ever. From the moment we arrived at the Salerno train station he helped up locate the accommodation and he told us everything we needed to know about the building, Salerno and our Amalfi coast plans. We couldn’t have asked for a better person to help us. The accommodation was beautiful, perfectly located and spacious. Loved it!

Amazing stay. Inside the room it looked as in the 4* hotel. 100% recommended. Short way to the city centre. You can walk there or take a bus. Salerno is a beautiful city, when Considering Naples and Salerno, choose Salerno. It is much more beautiful, and when in Salerno, choose Salerno 1950 accommodation. Thank you for the amazing stay.
