A great resort with good to great beaches, blame global warming for the loss of our beach front, they were all great when I was growing up. Most resorts or hotels including where I stayed offer trips to inner Jamaica, to see the waterfalls, rafting, eco spots etc. Tourism in Jamaica has been allowed to evolve in a way that excludes many local crafts people and vendors (who might sell you authentic Jerk chicken, or manish water or Irish Moss etc 😁 ). A pity because Jamaican's are quite charismatic and humorous. They do have a great Jerk joint just on the outskirts of the city centre. Montego Bay was alright but the taxi drivers spoiled it. Every interaction with them was a battle. Constantly demanding excessive fares in USD and making a big noise when you refuse. They make out that the place is very dangerous in order to own you and keep you to themselves. Then we realised there is Uber and everything improved. No haggling over prices.
