Blue Skies Beach Resort, hotel in Negril

Located in Negril, a few steps from Seven Mile Beach, Blue Skies Beach Resort provides accommodations with a garden, free private parking, a shared lounge and a terrace.

The Blue Sky Beach Resort is actually on the beach: It opens on to a small strip of the public beach at Negril. The beach here is rather narrow. The space is sufficient, however, to place a few deckchairs on it. Two of the hotel rooms offer a view onto the sea, interrupted only by the backside of a sundeck which has been put in between. All the other rooms face onto an interior open hallway. I had a big room facing the sea.

With the exception of a wedding held at the Ocean Cliff...

With the exception of a wedding held at the Ocean Cliff hotel, our entire time in Negril was spent at the Riu Palace Tropical Bay all-inclusive resort. Transportation between the resort and the wedding venue was provided for us, so "getting around" wasn't an issue for us. But because we never visited any locale outside the resort, we cannot speak to any place or activity to be avoided: nothing in *our* particular experience needed to be avoided!

I like the climate but really felt guilty with all of the impoverished on this Island. With the water shortage I felt guilty taking a cool soothing shower .Being in a gated Resort felt safe, but also wanted to explore more outside of it. The resort is lovely tho and everything you could ask for was there.

Negril is the more laid back part of Jamaica.

Negril is the more laid back part of Jamaica. It is quiet, especially up in West End and the cliffs. So there you are not right on a beach but up on cliffs you can jump from or coves you can take a ladder down to swim. There are small markets and many mom-and-pop restaurants you can walk to. And lots of locals homes with their gardens and grazing animals. The beach area of Negril is flat and sandy. Depending on where you stay, you can be at a small place on the beach and walk to stores, town restaurants and small beach restaurants. Or, you can stay at an all inclusive and never leave the property. We like Negril better than Ocho Rios ( but seeing Dunns Falls and Bob Marley’s home in Ocho Is a must) We like Negril because of its less touristy feel. If you’re here without children, you should split your time between beach and cliffs.

Villas Sur Mer is a lovely hotel in a wonderful spot in Negril. My one complaint is that we expected we'd be staying in a specific bungalow (the one with the curved roof) and instead we were put in the top floor of a duplex. It was fine, but we'd been really excited about the lovely stand alone bungalow and that's why we booked the place. On the plus side, there as a GORGEOUS waterfront view that you get to through an underground tunnel on the grounds of Villas Sur Mer. Truly magical. We spent a lot of time in that spot.

Loved the location of this hotel, right on the beach. OK so its not a 4 or 5 star, however, the rooms are clean, the bathrooms are clean and quite modern, and the food is good. We always found something to eat. My partner is also Vegetarian and he found the choice of food enough. The All Inclusive here is just Breakfast, Lunch and Evening Meal, including drinks all day. No snacks etc. But, we found this more than enough and the location is amazing. Free Air Conditioning is an absolute plus too!

This was my first noninclusive resort I have stayed at in Negril. Will never stay at another all inclusive again. I saved tons of money by paying for my own drinks and food. They had a wonderful bar and restaurant with great food!!!! Loved all of the staff. Stacy was exceptional in delivering food and kindness. Colin was a great bartender. All of the staff keeping things clean and safe were beyond my expectations. Will definetly be going back to this resort!!!!

Fantastic location right on the most perfect sandy beach with the cleanest crystal clear water - and at the nice quiet end of the beach too, but easy to walk up to more restaurants , bars etc. Nice very spacious apartment with comfy beds , good WiFi and modern TV and all you need. No communication between the hotel and myself until I arrived. There was a problem with the reservations because the hotel was under construction. No Internet and no Wi-fi. Was told about the problem when I arrived after 9 hours of travel. Had to stay with family for one night because if this. The staff has no regard for your vacation time. Jamaica motto - No Problem! Well, lack of communication is a BIG PROBLEM. Stay away until they hire new staff

Everything about this place was exceptional!! The location, the white sand beach, the turquoise water, the food was amazing and plentiful, the staff was very friendly, helpful and professional. We stayed at 4 different different resorts in Jamaica (in Montego Bay, Ocho Riios, Kingston, and Negril) as we travelled around the island, they were all nice and so, but none of them beats Riu Palace in Negril. I will definirely come back to Negril!!

Great views, infinity pools, access to the reef for snorkeling, amazing sunset, friendly helpful staff, and bar/restaurant near the water. Was a short 10-12 minute drive to Rick's cafe (amazing hangout place), Rockhouse hotel (good restaurant, probably the best snorkeling in the area), and Westend restaurants like Ciao. For those without the car, property has shuttle with 3 trips a day to the Negril beach area.
