Having stayed for 20 years, I say the breakfast does not compare with what we got years ago at the old restaurant. And now it is not practical to eat outside!

The local people in Managua are extremely friendly and helpful. The food was delicious and natural, extremely clean and little to no preservatives. Almost everything we ate was produced in the country or the region (central america). Driving is a little hectic so if you happen to be walking always be attentive and walk defensively, pedestrians do not always have right of way here.

The days were hot and I wasn't able to walk as much as I would liked. The evenings were better to walk around in. The pollution from the vehicles can get bad during the rush hours and those busses are a killer!!

Managua is a beautiful city with many wonderful places to enjoy nature and delicious food. My favorite spots were Paseo Salvador Allende, Love Island, and Arbolario.
The transportation was easy and not expensive. I use the In Driver application. It works very well. most of the time.
Private Tours to other cities are easy to get for a very good price. I contacted La Lorita and I am very satisfied with them

It was a cultural wonder for me.
It was a cultural wonder for me. I got to see a few of the volcanos, surprised that one is active with smoke coming from it. Loved sampling the foods in Granada, tacos were different from what I've had before in the US, they were rolled & fried. Must try the plantain fritos with cabbage salad. Loved the views of the countryside & riding a horse as well as a caponera. For adventure seekers there is ziplining in Masaya and many cultural shows & exhibition all around.

Nicaragua as a whole, is an amazing country with so much nature and cultural experiences,
vibrant towns like Leon and Granada
out of time locations like Ometepe
remote last of its kind adventures in the Miskito Coast
stunning Pacific beaches with some of the best waves literally in the western hemisphere.
laid back Creole culture and post card stunning beauty on islands of Nica Caribbean,
However,,,,IMO
Managua is pretty meh.. Actually, really meh... and expensive.
The layout of the city is nonsensical, traffic is really bad.
There is no real downtown, or old parts. however, to be fair the old city was destroyed by a massive earthquake in 1972.
There really are not than many good restaurants given the population of the city, really not much to do or see here, (certainly in my own opinion)
If you are brave enough, wander around in the " oriental" - the largest market in Central America.
For travelers, Managua is mostly a hub for getting to other parts of the country,
To note: there is a minority Asian community of Koreans and Chinese and I have found that the Nica-Chinese food to be some of the best in Central America.

If you have limited time and can only visit one city in Nicaragua, Granada would be a better choice. The breeze from Lake Nicaragua makes Granada more bearable weather-wise, the streets are pedestrian-friendly and the interesting places are more accessible.
Great stay at this small boutique hotel! Very safe location and loved the spaciousness of the rooms with the kitchenette which felt more like a studio apartment. The small gardens outside each room were also nice to enjoy/ view each morning. Staff was very helpful from the cleaning ladies to security to the front desk. I have visited Managua 20+ times and tried many of the area hotels but Altos is my new favorite and will definitely make this my go-to place when in Managua again!
Very nice US style hotel in Managua. Probably one of the nicest hotels in town and you pay corresponding US style rates but it was exactly what I needed. 6th floor room was nice and had a view of the lake. Clean, comfortable, good size with all the thoughtful amenities of modern hotel. Parking in front or back of hotel with 24x7 guard. Pretty good breakfast as well. Good wifi. Has a grab and go area with essentials and some drinks. Some OK restaurant options next door.
The location was great for getting to the airport with a free shuttle and the second time we stayed we got a taxi easy to and from the hotel to the bus stations. The included dinner was so helpful when we arrived at 8pm with hungry kids and breakfast was convenient at 6:30 for our early departure. The pool was great for the kids to have a swim in the evening or early morning. It is a great place to stay if you are coming and going in and out of Managua.
I arrived at 2 am with my Bus at Managua, the Housekeeper was waiting for me, even If the Check in was closed at 12 PM. I got a Big bed, which was very comfortable. Especialy If you travel with the busses from Transporte del Sol it is really nice, because it is Just 200 m away from the Destination Spot of the Bus.
The hotel is a comfortable and safe place to stay in Managua which is a city that can be a little hard to navigate for travellers. The team at reception are fantastic - Jordan and Naxmi were very helpful with helping sort taxis including sending one to collect me from the city and were super friendly.
The location was near a mall, plenty of restaurants. Close the the Managua sea wall (10 min drive), close to some touristy places. It was clean. Loved that the fridge and freezer were clean and regularly cleaned out. The owners were great and they even let us park our car in the gated area
The staff of the hotel are the Best, always with a smile and willing to help you with anything. The location of the hotel is very convenient especially if you are coming in the overnight flight, the hotel also has transportation from the airport to the hotel, which is very convenient
Excellent hotel to stay at. Family of four we stayed in the double room, breakfast was great, If looking for a clean air conditioned placed in Managua area look no further great cost. Nice staff very accommodating . 10/10 would recommend.
The staff were great. Any concern was quick addressed. Very impressed with the people who work there. Many people from the area even stated this was one of the best or the best hotel in Managua.
The lady in the lobby from Leon was the best, helped us out a lot. One of the best hotel staffmember I met on my trip in Central America. Hope the owner gives her a big raise soon
The best part was everything,
from the polite staff, to the most amazing sushi restaurant. The room was comfortable and bed so comfy.
taxis on hand , service impeccable.
