Tromsø is breathtaking and definitely worth visiting,...
Tromsø is breathtaking and definitely worth visiting, regardless of if you're chasing the polar lights, or just want to explore the city and the area during the day. The city is in close touch with nature and offers variety of different activities. The only thing I wouldn't recommend is going there during the Easter holidays (as I did), since a lot of stores, museums, restaurants, etc. tend to be closed.

Tromso is nice town with plenty of places to eat and drink.
Tromso is nice town with plenty of places to eat and drink. The restaurants offer a mixture of cuisine including local delicacies. There are a reasonable amount of shops offering local goods. It is an easy walk across the bridge to visit the Cable Car, definitely worth a visit to enjoy spectacular views. We arranged for a Northern Lights Tour which was fantastic. A comfortable, luxury coach drove us an hour outside of Tromso to an area with no light pollution, we had perfect weather so did not have to move on as the Northern Lights offered us the most wonderful light show for a four hour period. We were supplied with Hot Chocolate & cookies which kept us warm. The driver would have driven to another location if the weather had not been clear but on this occasion it was not necessary.

Tromsø is an amazing city.
Tromsø is an amazing city. It’s not as small as one may think.. has the right amount of grocery stores, cafés, bars etc. Quite a good nightlife, lots of young students/ tourists around so you’re never alone during solo travel! Tourism and guided activities are exceptional, they provide all the equipment, meals (in some cases) and transportation. Overall you will never be bored in Tromsø, I reccomend everyone to visit even if you’re not a sporty person there’s an activity for every fitness level.

Tromso is in the middle of aurora ring.
Tromso is in the middle of aurora ring. We are here just for northern light. During our visit in March, all road is damped and muddy, not easy to get around. Find a place to stay in warm weather for watching aurora. Getting to mountain by cable car is my favorite activity to see Tromso at night with aurora.

This city is an amazing location to go on a Aurora Borealis tour! Marianne's expertise and commitment to helping travelers achieve their dream of seeing the Aurora is unmatched. I highly recommend booking multiple nights with her like we did. So good to support a local woman owned business.

Me and my girlfriend took the premium room
The room was phenomenal the view was amazing and actually we've got lucky and we saw the Northern Lights from our room window and also the staff are very friendly and help us with the tur location
Breakfast is also very good the location is perfect close to all the tours all the good restaurants and all the shopping centres I would really recommend to stay in this hotel for everyone hos is gonna visit Tromso
The gym is kinda cute not the best but it's fine
The house is just outside the city, which means it's easily accessible by car but far enough to see the Northern Lights out on the house's windows. We even got to see the Lights one night from the location. The guest was really friendly, helpful, and reachable. The house was fully equipped and comfy, and it perfectly suited 4 people. We had the best time there and we'll surely come back, maybe during summertime. :)
We stayed in the standard twin bedroom. We loved the design and the cosiness of the room and the common areas. The beds were comfortable, and the bathroom was squeaky clean. The hotel is conveniently located close to supermarkets, bars and bus stops, including the airport bus stop. We also loved the self-check-in (it was our first time in Norway so we didn't know that could be a thing).
The location is excellent, right in the centre and only a one to two minute walk from the centre, the port and meeting points for trips. The breakfast was good. The hotel also offered free tea, coffee, juice and water throughout the day and at 7 pm they brought out a waffle machine! These were all very nice touches, especially as everything in Norway is so expensive.
The location is close to the center and close to 2 bus stops making it ideal to travel around. Its not in a noisy part of the city either. The apartment itself is very nice, clean and spacious with a balcony to the north. On the first day we were even able to see the northern lights regardless of the light pollution. A nice shower, beds and kitchen.
Comfortable, well designed and equipped apartament with huge windows, which with o little bit of luck let you watch northern lights from your bed.
Well located, just 3 min walk from the bus stop and a little longer walk from the city centre and cable car station.
Last but not least very, very nice and helpful owners!
We're coming back this spring!
Lovely hostel, super nice and friendly with prices that are incredible for the latitude. If you want a place which doesn't provide luxurious comfort, but a great environment, with good common spaces, nice workaway volunteers and anyway all you need in terms of accommodation, kitchen and services that's the best choice in north of Norway.
The breakfast is hands down the best breakfast I've ever encountered at a hotel. The coffee station person only puts one shot of espresso in a rather large latte, so heads up there, but overall the breakfast is bountiful and very tasty. The first room we had was clean and nice, though did have its issues.
Best hotel experience in a while. Check-in works easily with door codes, there's a fully equipped kitchen, free laundry, and the room we stayed in had large windows, comfy beds and a nice view of the surroundings. The common room downstairs is big enough to seat everyone.
Best breakfast in Norway! Room was comfy and clean. Great location and value!! Would stay again. No parking. Used the Fjellet public parking with no issues. Dropped our bags at the hotel then parked the car for $38 for 24 hours. Make sure to drive to Lyngen Alps!
Great place, perfect mix of hotel and hostel because of the shared kitchen. Very clean and comfortable. Just like the pictures. Close to the city center. Staff was always available to respond and really nice :). The owner is really friendly.
Probably the best hotel in my 15 days in Norway this year and it was not the most expensive of them. I enjoyed a lot the intelligent design of the room, small but perfect and probably the best location in Tromso. Perfect check-in system.
Location was excellent, and we had an incredible view of the mountain from our apartment’s living room. On multiple evenings we also saw the northern lights directly from our window.
Hotel staff was always very friendly and helpful.
Great breakfast, fika, and dinner. Awesome location. I was given a harbor view room which was very charming (albeit small). I was very satisfied with this choice, especially w/ the included food bc that is so expensive in Norway.
The view is perfect, we were able to see the northern lights from the window. It was close to the centre and the communication was good. Overall, it was nice to be there after a whole day outside.
The apartment was really nice and comfortable. It has a laundry mat and the hosts were very helpful in helping us to find a place to see the northern lights. We were able to walk the whole town.
Beautiful hotel in a fantastic location. Loved watching the Northern Lights from the terrace of the Skybar. Breakfast was amazing and bonus was on until 11am at the weekend....bonus
