Perfect position, comfortable room with a great view
Unique, arty, traditional and lively pretty much sums up the great mix that the island of Tromsø has to offer. The city is home to the unique Arctic Cathedral, an array of pubs, cafés and an energetic street culture.
If you’re planning a day of sightseeing be sure to visit Tromsø Museum, Polar Museum, the University Museum of Tromsø, Mack Brewery, and the Arctic Alpine Botanic Garden.
The city’s main square often holds a variety of markets and its streets are lined with colourful and old-style buildings and houses. Tromsø is one of the best places to view the amazing colours of the Northern Lights.
Nicknamed the ‘Gateway to the Arctic’ due to being a launching point for polar expeditions, Tromsø provides numerous activities such as hiking and kayaking during summer, and skiing and dog-sledding in winter, all in a backdrop of eye-catching scenery.
Tromsø is easily accessible from major cities such as Tallinn, Oslo and Helsinki and Tromsø Airport has direct flights to various European destinations. Check-out Booking.com for a selection apartments and hotels in Tromsø and throughout Norway.

Tromso is a great base if you want to go whale watching, and spend some time out with the Sami and their reindeer.
It's a really easy town to walk around, plenty of good shops and restaurants.
It's also one of the best places to go for the northern lights, so worth spending a good amount of time there to get the right conditions.
I'd love to go back again.

Seems every tourist in Oslo was also going to Tromso and there;s good reason for this. It's a highlight for Northern LIghts and, my favorite, self driving husky sledding. Enjoyed staying at Enter City HOtel-apartment so I could have my own breakfast and snacks. Everything is close by though weather has been impacted by global warming so lots of slush and ice in late November and just some snow. Wear good boots.

The Fjelhaten cable car is something that should not be missed. There is a shuttle bus from the tourist information center in downtown Tromso that runs to the cable car, across the Tromso Bridge, and back. A car is not necessary if you are staying in the harbor area, where most restaurants, bars, and attractions are located. The Mack Brewing Ohallen Pub is a great place to sample beer--they have about eighty on tap! We were able to see the Aurora after heading out of Tromso by car {driven by a guide}, although or plans to drive into Finland {about 35 miles east} were thwarted by heavy snow on the roads. Aurora viewing was limited by heavy clouds and snow, although the Aurora was present. Tromso receives a great deal of precipitation, and is often fogged in, but weather changes rapidly.

The people were great and local businesses were welcoming. Local transport is reliable and frequent and there are a lot of activities to do nearby as long as you’re lucky with weather conditions, nobody can change them for your stay!

Where do we start…was so good.
Where do we start…was so good. We spent a lot of time in the town with the beautiful people of Tromso having coffee and cake when we weren’t on a trip. We went on a trip to see the whales, a trip to see huskies, on the chair lift to see the northern lights and to the outdoor pool. We loved it all and found it so easy to get about on the local buses with the app that allows ticket purchase and route planning. The scenery is absolutely stunning and we loved to hear about life this far north. Totally recommend thankyou Tromso!

The location is absolutely fantastic- I saw the Northern lights on the first night in Norway from my window and outside. John and Martha were very friendly and helpful and I had arranged to use their shuttle service (extra add-on) to get picked up at Eidkjosen after taking the No 42 bus from Tromso city centre. It made the travel more affordable and they were very helpful and flexible as far as possible. Kitchen is great and there is a box in the fridge for food.
A really nice surprise is that coffee, hot chocolate and tea are 24h free for all guests and the kitchen can be used any time, which adds a welcome option for lunch and dinner since restaurants in Tromso can be quite expensive.
The Rooms are very cosy, the staff helpful and friendly and the common bathrooms were always clean during our whole stay. We also took the Northern Lights Tour offered by the hotel and can also really recommend it.
The location is close to the center and close to 2 bus stops making it ideal to travel around. Its not in a noisy part of the city either. The apartment itself is very nice, clean and spacious with a balcony to the north. On the first day we were even able to see the northern lights regardless of the light pollution. A nice shower, beds and kitchen.
Nice location away from the city with beautiful natural surroundings. Warm welcome from the host and a homemade cake for us 😃
we’re able to see the northern lights from the property.
Had a great stay in this beautiful old Norwegian house!Host is super helpful and nice , great suggestions to see the northern lights and to nice places in town!
