Location was excellent, in the city centre, next to bus stops and a lot of the tour meeting points. The amenities in the room were also very modern and comfortable. The bedding was warm and cosy and there was a free mini fridge to use which was useful for storing snacks. The hotel also offered free tea and coffee to all hotel guests! Room was kept clean the entire time and staff at the front desk were very helpful with general enquiries. There is also a lift available for use.

The room is spacious, bed super comfortable. We had one blanket per person, sharing one double bed. Really appreciate that. It can get hot at night, so move the temp to coldest setting. Toilet is good, hot shower strong. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable. Hotel is not as crowded as others. Excellent breakfast and dinner, with snacks included. Even late at night, there is some pastry. Great value for money. Location is central, easy to walk anywhere. Enjoyed our stay very much.

We liked everything starting from entering the hotel until we left. The best thing was every meal is included and the tea/coffee/water bar was open 24/7. Also the staff was perfect and very kind. One of the best thing about the kitchen was that there were options that include vegan and gluten free meals and indications for them.

Unique, arty, traditional and lively pretty much sums up the great mix that the island of Tromsø has to offer. The city is home to the unique Arctic Cathedral, an array of pubs, cafés and an energetic street culture.
If you’re planning a day of sightseeing be sure to visit Tromsø Museum, Polar Museum, the University Museum of Tromsø, Mack Brewery, and the Arctic Alpine Botanic Garden.
The city’s main square often holds a variety of markets and its streets are lined with colourful and old-style buildings and houses. Tromsø is one of the best places to view the amazing colours of the Northern Lights.
Nicknamed the ‘Gateway to the Arctic’ due to being a launching point for polar expeditions, Tromsø provides numerous activities such as hiking and kayaking during summer, and skiing and dog-sledding in winter, all in a backdrop of eye-catching scenery.

Northern lights absolutely beautiful. Wonderful place and scenary- Masvik on the island of Rebbenesoya was my favourite place near Tromso. We ate at Yonas pizza which was fine and good food. Buses are good and efficient but I wouldn't use them to get to a rural place in winter as the roads are a but trecherous in winter/Arctic rainy weather.
We visited Tromsø for a week in the beginning of July. The weather was perfect and we had a great time! It was worth the visit. We loved the Fjellheisen cable car. We we went there twice, once to see the midnight sun go down the Sherpa steps and the 2nd time to hike the mountain for the day. We went to many of the museums and the arboretum. Shopping and restaurants were enjoyable. We rented a car one day and drove to Rekvik, Sommarøy, and more. We hiked and enjoyed all of the scenery. We wish we had time to spend another day driving and exploring. The city busses were convenient. My daughter did the tour that hiked a glacier. She said it was challenging, but amazing!
on our short stay we enjoyed very much walking through the city and along the waterfront, admiring the buildings both new and old and the shop windows with goods specific for this region (wonderful woolen sweaters !!!). as we arrived on Saturday evening we found city very quiet, with only few cars on the streets. there were some clouds so we did not see the midnight sun, but even so, having natural light late at night was a great feeling.
Tromso has various attractions. The midnight sun experience is unique. The world's northern most cathedrals are in Tromso. The Polar Museum was quite nice. The cable car ride and hiking atop the mountain were fantastic. The cruises from the harbour are worth it. We especially liked the cruises on 'Hermes II' and the midnight sun cruise on 'White Hawk'. The unique Arctic-Alpine Botanic Garden, the northern most botanic garden in the world, is beautiful and should not be missed. Tang's Restaurant in the heart of the town is an excellent restaurant for Chinese/Asian cuisine.
I loved the 24-hours of daylight and all of the mountains in the background. It rained most of the days that I was there so I didn't get to explore it as much as I would have liked to. It was nice and cool there in July, which might not appeal to all travelers.
Tromso is a lovely town, well worth a visit. There are great dining options, museums, art galleries, boat trips and more. I particularly enjoyed a trip on the Hermes II, a beautiful old wooden boat which took us all the way around the island of Tromsoya. Also good was the Fjellheisen cable car up Storsteinen mountain with dinner in the Fjellstua restaurant with its spectacular views. Summer is the time to see the midnight sun, winter is the time to see the Northern Lights.
