Hotel staff was super nice and helpful. The location is great. It's cheap. I only stayed a few days but I enjoyed it. AC was cold. Wifi worked and there hot water. There was free airport pickup, this was nice. Although my driver/pickup was 20 mins late and I was worried I got there fine and they apologized. Overall, it was fine. I would stay there for 2-3 days again when I leave the country.

There are a lot of historical places to see nearby and some nice nature excursions through day trips as well. A lot to explore in terms of culture and shopping. It can be a little dusty and polluted at times so better to wear a mask when walking around the city.

We stayed in Kathmandu following the flight and to organise the remainder of our trip. I believe that 2 days in Kathmandu is ample to explore the city and take in the sights either before heading off to explore the stunning beauty of Nepal or when finishing the trip

Nepal is like another world, well worth visiting for the adventurous and open-minded.
Mountains, Hindu temples, Buddhist stupas and Tibetan monasteries, cities bustling with cheerful people and open-fronted shops, squalor and beauty, power cuts, street dogs and chickens, chaotic beeping traffic, 50% motorbikes and scooters, sometimes with more that two on board, which nevertheless an old lady can somehow cross safely.

So many things to see and experience, truly awesome.
So many things to see and experience, truly awesome. Lots of places to eat to experience the local cuisine. lots of places are within walking distance and the taxis are very cheep to get to the places out of walking distance. On a word of caution, wear a face mask, the air pollution is chronic. One disappointing thing that I found quite shocking was that the supposedly "sacred river" that flows through the city was treated as an open sewer. The smell and sight of raw effluent coming from the waters was horrific.

It’s a crazy high pace of screaming motorbikes and daredevil taxi drivers with your life in their hands. Some interesting spiritual sites of interest and a bazillion trekking companies and trekking equipment and clothing stores selling the top names brands all fake of course. You gotta love the people and their culture !!
I loved staying at Hotel Thamel. The accommodations are great, the rooms are clean, the breakfasts were delicious. The hotel is located in the center of Thamel, so close to lots of shops and easy to get around. The staff are extremely kind and welcoming, available for whatever I needed. When I got sick with the flu at the hotel the manager checked on me daily and even brought me a fruit basket! I'll definitely stay here on my next trip to Kathmandu.
When I first arrived in Kathmandu I was seeking a value hotel in town. I believe honestly that Hotel Everest is the best value for your money in all of Kathmandu! From the kind staff that have no accommodated me so well, I feel like they are a second family. The breakfasts, the rooms, the hot shower, the assistance - everything is fantastic. I will always stay here when I am visiting Kathmandu! Thank you Mani Arbin Himal and team!
I went to Kathmandu on the way to China for one night I booked Hotel Sapana Garden and reached my expectation as money i have paid. The hotel located in a quiet place in thamel, big room which i get maybe because of they upgraded for free to suit room to me and they have beautiful garden views from my room.
Thank you Narayan for your service and I definitely come back for longer time.
When traveling to Kathmandu, I always stay at this family hotel because it is cozy and comfortable, with very friendly staff. In terms of price-quality ratio, this is the best option; for a small amount you get peace, comfort, cleanliness, order and you are in the busiest place in Kathmandu in Thamel, within walking distance of most attractions.
The location of the hotel is great, it is very conveniently located in Thamel near best restaurants, bars and nightlife . Kathmandu Durbar square is also very close from here , about 10 minutes of walk. For the price of about 10 dollers , this was a great find. Staff is very nice and tried their best to make our stay comfortable.
A Delightful Stay in the Heart of Kathmandu's Thamel
I recently had the pleasure of staying at a hotel in the vibrant neighborhood of Thamel during my visit to Kathmandu, Nepal. From the moment I stepped into the hotel, I was warmly welcomed by the attentive and friendly staff, setting the tone for a truly enjoyable stay.
I strongly advise this hotel. The location is perfect, next to Thamel, but in this hotel you don't listen hustle and bustle of the street. It's a quiet place. The staff is very friendly and rooms are good. The breakfast is very good with sweet and salt food served in a tiny quiet garden. Moreover is a cheap hotel :)
One of the best hotel in town. If you are visiting Kathmandu, I highly recommend to book at this hotel. Everything was smooth and great. Complimentary airport pickup the hotel provides, delicious breakfast, tour and trekking arrangements, luxurious room, great coffee, peaceful location, everything was WOW! Amazing!
nice hotel, staff is very warm and welcoming (although all Nepalese people are :) ), location is amazing - quiet street in thamel, but 100m walking to the center and all the mess of Kathmandu. Not really a realistic rating, but comparing to the other stays in Nepal (we spent a month there) one of the best.
The best hotel we stayed in in Nepal. Perfect location, right in the center of Thamel, very clean rooms and the entire hotel, extremely helpful staff and good food, comfortable beds, well-stocked bathroom and very good room services. I highly recommend this hotel.
Beautiful view from hotel room and roof.View from roof 360 D. Felt like my second home .Friendly staff. WIFI is fast as well .Best location for Thamel ,Kathmandu dubar square and Swyambhu stupa (monkey temple also called).
affordable price go stupa view inn .
Location is excellent, right in the center of Thamel. For a budget hotel this is excellent value for the money.
Breakfast is a bit skimpy, but so are most hotels in Nepal.
The staff is super friendly and helpful. We would stay there again on our next trip
The level of service here is incredible. Bimal and Sandip are wonderful in the restaurant and Sandip and Aparna are so hospitable at the front desk. The rooms are spotless and the hotel is in one of the best locations in Thamel! 5 stars across the board.
This is probably the best budget hotel in the town, simply an amazing place. The room was spacious, cleaned, and comfy. If you're visiting Kathmandu and don't know where to book a place for your stay then book Zen B&B.
First thing first, the hotel is located at the center of Kathmandu valley, which is Thamel. Second thing is I liked the room, staff and the services they offer. I had a wonderful stay at Doors Hotel, Thamel.
Located at the Heart of Kathmandu. Easy to travel around the city. The best hotel in Kathmandu among the hotels i have stayed in the past. Clean room, friendly staff and great atmosphere. Will be back soon.
The hotel manger very helpful and staff are friendship. Rooms are clean , warm water was nice ,wifi,tv, toilet all are the working best budget hotel in center of thamel.
Completely renovated hotel, stylisch and very comfortable. I've stayed in various properties in Kathmandu and this one is the best so far and in Thamel! A rarity!
