Located in Oświęcim, 2.7 miles from Auschwitz, Hotel Artur provides accommodations with a garden, free private parking, a shared lounge and a restaurant. This 3-star hotel offers room service.
Oświęcim is a beautiful town! There are so many places to walk and bike, historical things to see, lots of nature and fresh air. I really enjoyed its peaceful vibe! There's an excellent transit system in town, however, I chose to walk everywhere and soak in the charm of the town. I hope to return again for a longer visit!

This city Oswiecim is historical because of the concentration camps here. You should come here to see history before the current wars in Ukrainian n Russia could rid the area of evidence of the genocides that occurred here back in the 1930-40’s.

While most tourists just come for the day from Krakow to visit the Auschwitz museum ,it is worth considering an overnight stay. The town centre square of Oswiecim is well worth seeing and has several excellent museums especially the Zamek (Castle) and old town hall too. The Mural walk is good to see. There are two good tourist information offices available . Though a pre booked group visit to Auschwitz main camp museum is obligatory, the much larger vast Birkenau site can be visited individually and at lesuire to explore . This can take several hours . Trains are regular to and from Krakow and take just over an hour. The train station is new after being rebuilt . There are good cafes close by .

1-night stay - with Wieliczka Saltmine 1. day, and Auswitz-Birkenau at 2. day.
Tips:
- Wieliczka: Parking is a mess - museum has nearly no parking. Private "parking" (30-40zl). Advice: Use the one, close to the Salt-Tower.
- Auswitz: Parking: Avoid the private parking-places at ALL-COSTS. The new entrance are FAR AWAY from these - with a cheaper and safer parking place, right in front of the entrance. "Line/Guide": Just buy at the museum-site, and a guide is included! (english-etc language-guides are scarce, so buy tickets in good time). And remember water and raincoat-etc.
Eating:
- is expensive... it is tourist-area/towns!
- maybe one can discover a "local" place.

We stayed 3 days in Warsaw and 1 day in Oswiecim to visit Auschwitz Camp. We stayed in a hotel (Imperiale) next to the camp. So, it was very convenient to visit the camp early in the morning until lunch time. Then we drove Warsaw back. Before coming to the camp, we also visited Krakow and we strongly recommend to spare 1 day for Krakow. We felt very sad during the camp visit. But I can say that it was the one of the most professional and instructive visit I have ever had.

My main reason for visiting, like most people I guess, was to see the Auschwitz-Birkenau concentration camp memorials. These were quite confronting but fascinating and an important thing to do I think.
The web site for the memorial is not particularly well structured. I tried for a long time to reserve an entry card, but it would not let me click on the date I wanted. If you are wanting a guided tour then they go quite quickly, but for Auschwitz 1 they do release a number of individual entry (no guide) tickets during the day which you can reserve, or many people just turned up and managed to get an entry. There is a security check like at an airport and you need to have your identity document to enter. Auschwitz 2 is quite different - no security, though you need an entry card, but they don't make it easy to find from camp 1.
For eating I can definitely recommend Portobello restaurant. I ate there the first night and immediately made a reservation for the next night as well.
Very delicious and well priced food in the restaurant. We had dinner there and it was very tasty, our included breakfast the next morning was also very good.
Staff was friendly and helpful at all times.
Check in and out was easy.
Our room was spacious and clean, well presented. Uncovered parking is available for a small fee right in front of the door.
We stayed here while we were visiting The Auschwitz-Birkenau Camp. The hotel is less than a 5 minute walk across the street which was fantastic.
The staff were very friendly and accommodating. I was the only guest at the hotel last night (I guess hotels in the area don't get many visitors in January) but this didn't dawn on me until the next day. The rooms are old but quant and charming, very quiet and peaceful, very clean, very comfortable. They made a big delicious personalized breakfast for me for free and held my bag for a few hours after I checked out for free. The receptionist spoke English and was very friendly.
The rooms are located in 3 separate buildings, everything placed within a huge, beautiful garden, lots of space to sit outside and enjoy the weather. Just behind the buildings, there is a river with well-maintained walking routes on both sides and two bridges (one for cars, one for pedestrians). The walking routes on the other side of the river are much nicer and longer. If you cross the bridge, the castle and the center of Oswiecim are both within 5 mins of walking.
Altough it's a 3 star hotel, all required facilities are there, even an airconditioning. Parkings spots may be a problem but the hotel next door will have lots of parking space as well. Breakfast was more then ok. Hotel is located opposite of the main entrance of Auschwitz memorial site 1 and on walking distance of site 2 (also free shuttle service available). Perfect location for your visit to Auschwitz.
Friendly staff, very fluent in english, room super clean and comfortable with very good air conditioned, daily refresh of the room, the breakfast was really good and the location very closed to the museum and Birkenau, driving time to Birkenau 6 minutes and to museum 3, it has a supermarket right in front of the hotel. Excellent service, parking and location.
delicious breakfast, amazing staff, lovely people. Easy parking just by the hotel. The location is really good. We visited the Auschwitz museum too and it is really close by. The is also the train station just across the street. We thought it would be somewhat loud, however nothing was hear by us the whole night.
Great hotel and location for visiting Auschwitz, in addition it was great having s Spa to go to after a long day. The facilities were great and the massage I booked was very good. The restaurant had good choices and food and delicious wine to try from the region. A real nice stay. Staff was nice and helpful.
I would say that this is one of the best economy places to stay in Oswiecim. Near town center, bus stop, with own parking, everything in line with the description. Cosy clean rooms. Very helpful stuff. This is not my first stay hear already, and definitely I will stay there again.
The hotel was great, nice parking, beds and the room was great, Bathroom was nice, hot showers, The fact that there was some English TV Channels majot plus, but I was not there to watch TV in a room, so I can't fault nothing here really.
The desk clerk i encountered was delightful and helpful. The hotel was well-situated to walk to the town plaza and places to dine. The room was clean, and the bathroom had been remodeled.
Excellent service and one of the best hotel staff I have ever experienced in Poland . As a popular world traveller I would like to give the highest points for all around service .
Nice, clean and new room. Beautiful lobby and restaurant, even with few options that are available 24h, very appreciated!
Free public parking available in front of the hotel.
Just like in pictures! Everything was clean, the host Michał was also super friendly. For a stay in Oświęcim/Ausschwitz and for that price - I would definitely suggest it.
Coziness, value for money, only 5 mins drive from the Auschwitz-Birkenau Memorial. The owner lives in the hotel itself, available (almost 24/7) for any assistance.
