I recently visited Zakopane and had an incredible experience! The town is absolutely stunning, with breathtaking mountain views and a charming, unique atmosphere. One of the highlights of my trip was experiencing the local highlander culture. The traditional cuisine was delicious, and I loved the folk music and craft markets.

Seems like Zakopane has forgotten who pays their bills, and tourists will come anyway. Even bus drivers try to mess around with tourists. Three times they told me to get off at the wrong bus stop (too early), in one case causing me to miss the train, in another laughing because I had to walk 1km extra.
Next, people are trying to take advantage of you wherever they can, charging little extra, "forgetting" to give you change, steering you into expensive options etc. Keep that in mind.
If you can overlook unfriendly locals, the mountains are beautiful and hiking is great.

Zakopane has a lot to do in terms of hiking (when it's not totally snow covered). If you're into hiking, you can spent a week at the various parts of Tatry National Park. There are cultural events, too, though I'm not as certain as to how to find them.

Very nice mountains town with many hotels and many tourists attractions.
But is better go the outseason. 29.4. and 30.4. was great, because around 23C and sunny, clear. No wind, that was optimal weather to visit in working day, the next days from 1.5. it will be too many tourists there.
Best place to see Tatry mountains, go walk or linear train to Gubałówka (better buy ticket advance online).
There are also many attractions, views and restaurants.

What an incredibly beautiful city, with charm and excellent...
What an incredibly beautiful city, with charm and excellent food and walking zones and thermal baths and the Funicular to the top with an amazing view! The people were charming and helpful! Absolutely loved Zacopane!
It was the best hotel I have ever stayed in my whole life. it was totally perfect. The room was amazing, we really liked the size, the furnitures and the bathroom of course. The bed was comfortable, the breakfast is amazing and delicious. There was no fresh pancake once (it was late) but we asked if they could make us and they made immediately. The hotel is very close to the main shopping street so it was the best choice to stay there. They have free parking space. It is the best hotel to stay in Zakopane!!! Dont hesitate to book right now!
Cosy hotel in beautiful Zakopane. The views were breathtaking, the receptionist was sweet and helpful. I recommend you book a room with balcony and mountain view, you will not be disappointed.
Slightly out of the central area, but we already knew about that and it was made very clear when booking that it is not close to the centre, it was only a 30 minute walk to Krupowki and about 8 minute drive by (very cheap) taxi. That being said, it is very close to the skiing resort 2-5 minute walk.
The hotel is located at the city center of Zakopane. Close to pedestrian zone. It's designed like a chalet and very stylish. The personal is very welcome and attentive. My girlfriend had a birthday and they brought a little present for her. The room is big and comfortable, we had a room with a balcony and a view. The breakfast was delicious with various local cheeses and charcuterie. The spa zone is great also. The fitness room is well equipped and open 27/7.
Beautifully located - you can get out of hotel and start hiking immediately. At the same time center of Zakopane is not that far. Rooms were nice, very clean. Tasty breakfast, with variety of food and everyday they served something different. The little pancakes made with kefir were absolutely delicious!
Super nice that sauna is available; everyday pass ito Termy Zakopiańskie was just superb. Great hotel!
Lovely hotel in highlander style, great location, 5 min walk to Krupowki Street. The check-in staff was very professional and friendly, the room was big and very nicely furnished. If you can get a room with a mountain view - do it, its highly recommended! Breakfast was nice too - good selection. I think its the best hotel in Zakopane ( and I stayed in many hotels in town)
The hotel was positioned close to two training slopes and a short 15 minute walk to downtown. The adjacent restaurant was great: the meat was perfectly done, relatively quickly served, and the atmosphere was cosy. The facilities at the hotel allowed for a relaxing spa experience after skiing. And the balcony provided a nice place to decompress.
Hello, if you're looking for a great, peaceful and money worth place with awesome breakfast, helpful and friendly management/staff, free parking, accessible to all points of Zakopane especially Tatra National Park - Morskie Oko, then this is the place to be! 👍😊
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED for practical travellers and tourists 👍👍
Location is excellent. ZAKOPANE Bus station and Krupowki street in just 5 mins of walk away. Gubalwoka ticket office just 10 mins of walk away.
Very good breakfast and hotel room was neat ,and clean. I would recommend to others.
Just keep in mind there is no lift so you would need to carry your luggage to your floor
This is a wonderfully charming place! The breakfast was ample and the use of the spa was a perfect way to end our day. Hotel staff is extremely accommodating and helped immensely when organizing a taxi to take us to Chocolowski on a rainy day. Next time in Zakopane, this will be our go-to lodging!
Very nice hotel/villa. Clean, convenient, quite specious room. Kind-hearted hostess. Small groceries located near by. Getting to the city center takes 15 min by bus. Bus stop is just near the hotel. Mountain trails starts almost on villa's backyard) All in all very positive stay in Zakopane.
Great hotel in a good location in Zakopane. I will definetly revisit this place when I get a chance. With full responisbility I can say that this was the BEST breakfast in any hotel in Poland I ever had. Restaurant is amazing as well and the prices are really nice compared to Krupowki.
Fresh and very comfy - like at home. There is a set of board games in different languages we liked a lot. Jacuzzi and sauna one floor up from 17.00 till 21.00 just what we needed to relax after skiing (for free). Definetely will stay next time when in Zakopane.
Clean and super spacious for the whole family. The location is 5minutes WALK from the zakopane train station and 15minutes WALK from the center. There's a nearby supermarket also. Host was really kind. He explained everything very well. He is willing to help.
Zakopane is lovely town, full of restaurants. Skiing slopes are near, great aquapark, perfect conditions for cross country skiing. Hotel is in a perfect quiet place. Rooms are spacious, good breakfast, comfortable beds.
The kindest hotel staff I’ve come across in Poland. Very close to the center and all the buses going to the main attractions and Kraków. Great value for the price with sauna and salt cave included in the price.
