Bangkok never sleeps, or so you might think as you fly into Suvarnabhumi International Airport. From luxurious mega malls like MBK and Siam Discovery in Siam Square to the famous Khao San Road in the Banglamphu district, this hard working city is packed with commerce, fiery food and soothing temples.

Renting a car was a good decision as we drove outside of Bangkok to Ayutthaya and other places. It allowed us more flexibility with kids but need someone who is comfortable with the roads etc. Overall great city with lots to do -more than just shopping and food.

Best wway to see attractions in Bangkok is to book a taxi for whole day and visit attractions.
For attractions close to place of stay, walking can be an option.
Families with young children need to go on daytrips from Bangkok, that would be more fun, than roaming around Bangkok.
Pattaya would be nice destination for a couple of days, than Bangkok.
Shopping is not really cheap in Bangko., seems to be more expensive.

River Cruise - get to view Bangkok from a different perspective.
Travel via the BTS is a good way to travel. Taxis and Tuk Tuks are other options.

I found a great little gym just a short walk from the hostel and it was perfect for this 57 year old and it was very cheap. The MRT is great once you get the hang of things you can travel around very quickly . There are so so many good eateries in the area you are bound to find something to suit your pocket and appetite.

Definitely recommend a Local food tour by TukTuk, great value for money and gives you the tuk tuk experience without having to haggle on the streets
Grand palace & Wat Pho are great cultural places to visit to experience amazing design and architecture
The location was the main issue - it was not close to anything in the city. The closest metro was a 15 minutes walk which was not a pleasant walk. The pool was ok but there were very few chairs available. The room was comfortable, the shower pressure was weak, and there are no outlets near the bed but that seems to be the standard in ibis hotels. For the price, you could get so much better in Bangkok and in much better locations.
I think it's very ok. There is transportation around. Car expressways, electric trains connecting airports, diesel trains connecting cities, passenger boats that can take you anywhere in Bangkok. Room prices are very cheap compared to the location. Although it is not a new hotel, it is clean and comfortable. I will definitely come back to stay again.
What I planned for days in a relaxed atmosphere when I checked in was fullfilled ... plenty of indoor plants created an ambience you were in nature resort ... there was NO hussle and buzzle like downtown hotels ... serene I liked it very much ... next visit to Bangkok for sure top of the list for the price Thank you Hotel Sourire ...
Everything was great from A to Z. However, the Assistant Front Office Manager, Ms. Rungaroon (Dew) truly exceeded our expectations and made our stay at Siam Kenpinski Hotel Bangkok [SHA Extra Plus Certified] really fabulous from service, professionalism and kindness. Thank you Siam Kempinski, thank you Ms. Dew.
You are all amazing.
Great hotel in a great location when you forest arrive in Bangkok. Rooms are spacious, clean and quiet. Pool is great. Good and drink is very expensive for Thailand and not great - can get far better food in local places in the same road for quarter of the price. The same goes for massages
