Anping sights would definitely take up the whole day.
Anping sights would definitely take up the whole day. Tainan is a lovely place to be with an excellent variety of history, cultural sites, temples, markets, and general fun things to do. Could definitely have stayed longer than 2 full days for a few extra day trips nearby, and to try more of the local things.

Traditional city that almost represents the development history of Taiwan city, including the building, religion and the famous street food. Actually Tainan keeps its unique culture of Taiwan city, then based on the culture attracting a big scale of Taiwan humanities and cultures.

Tainan is known for local delicacies, which we found to be true. The night market is not crowded and you can buy many delicious items without waiting in line. The Chimei Museum is nearby and we enjoyed visiting it.

Tainan was awesome. There is so much to see and do! The free cultural walking trip of the Confucius Temple and other parts of Tainan was amazing (Emma was my tour guide- she was extremely knowledgeable, her English was excellent, and she was so informative). Anping area had a ton of culture, a market, Temples, and amazing food to enjoy. I also enjoyed the Garden night market (different markets are open on different days). It was busy and crowded but there were so many great vendors selling clothes, jewelry, electronics, and more. The food selection was also impeccable. I was only in Tainan for a day and a half. I would have spent a few more if I had the time!

Tainan is an underrated, if not, underappreciated city that withholds treasures of different sorts for you, the traveler, to discover. The cheap, delectable street food is not to be missed, in addition to the hot sunny days, which could be a relief if you happen to be traveling from the miserably humid city of Taipei.
That said, Tainan is best explored on bike/scooter, as many attractions are spread out with quite some distance in between. Fortunately, Tainan's government offers electric YouBikes for rental, which could ease the pedaling by quite a bit.
The Dynasty is a three star hotel located on the busy Chenggong Road, which is about a 6-7 minute walk from the Tainan City Station. There is an RJ Mart (Filipino grocery store) across the road and a 711 on the corner. A short walk towards the train station there are a couple of shopping mall style buildings (Focus & Shin Kong) complete with food courts. The rooms were clean and tidy, which had free WiFi and the television screens were a decent size. There is an old self service laundry area up on the roof which came in handy
Clean, comfortable and spacious. Competent and welcoming staff. Free outdoor parking lot located across street from hotel. There is also a driveway in front of hotel entrance where you can leave car standing (or park temporarily) while you check-in load/unload luggage. Loved the free evening “snack” bar at the dining hall for guests staying at the hotel. 3-5 minute walk to the biggest “Flower Night Market” in town. Delicious, fresh and bountiful breakfast buffet. Loved every minute of our stay here.
Central location with parking included in a quiet area. Close to many shopping and dining options in Tainan. Lobby area featured a pop-up for Magazine B which was a pleasure to read through, and a nice area to relax. Common area near the hostel rooms included board games, a kitchen, a bar, and a sitting area with plush cushions. Really nice room as well in the hotel room, including choice of vinyl records to play and in-house sparkling water available for refill.
I liked pretty much everything about the good sized room, and particularly liked the hotel bar, with a shout out to the staff, despite language barriers they went out of their way to provide sample beers to try ensuring I got what I liked. Bars are not common in Taiwan, and to find a well stocked bar with a variety of beers was great ( I did have a recommendation to stay here from a friend for this very reason).
Location is good, about 15 mins walk from Tainan Train station. Many shops and eating outlets beside and around the hotel. The hotel staff will let you check in when the room is ready. Afternoon tea and small bites are available for free after you checked in. The room is spacious and clean with auto wash toilet setting.
I liked the hotel because it was located at a convenient place. A walking distance to the Tainan Park, and about 10 minutes walk to the Chikan Tower. You can also enjoy the mini gym and massage therapy chairs, the hotel's available bikes, and a complimentary breakfast.
The location just next to the main train station is really practical. Rooms are quiet in spite of the wind noise on windy days. There is good variety of choices for breakfast. In spite of it's age, the hotel offers monumental design and architecture worth admiring.
The staff were very helpful. They made sure my logistics to and fro business meetings were arranged the night before. All my meetings went smoothly and I will strongly recommend this hotel for business stay to all guests travelling to Tainan for business meetings.
I love how it's conveniently located so everything was just walking distanced. The room was clean and spacious. Staffs were super friendly and the breakfast was exceptional. Lakeshore Hotel will be my #1 choice next time I visit Tainan. Highly recommended.
Wonderful hotel! The location is perfect. The staffs are very nice and helpful. The room is nice and new. If you're looking for a nice hotel that has a Japanese bidet in Tainan, This is it! I'll be back to stay next time for sure! Highly recommended!
The room has great size with view and open-able windows (which is not always happening for hotels in Tainan.) Room is clean and the shower is luxurious. And it's 3 min walking distance to the prime eating/drinking/parting district in central Tainan.
The property was cute and clean, had fruit included in the complimentary kitchen supplies, and I was exceptionally lucky in getting quiet roommates. I would definitely book again if I take another solo trip to Tainan. Also, the beds were comfy.
The host was kind enough to allow flexibility for my late check-in caused by an interruption on my way to Tainan. Also the hotel as well as the room is very cozy clean and comfy at the prime location in Tainan. i highly recommend it! :))
The best Hostel I've been to in Taiwan. The manager and his team take great care of his customers. The hostel is very well located in the city and it is very clean. I would come back with pleasure if I come back to Tainan.
I like staying at this hotel, because it is very close to the station, I have stayed at this hotel twice, and I got a spacious room with cendelo and a view of the Tainan Station, the hotel is comfortable and clean.
Hotel is conveniently located across the street from a 7-11 and Turkey Rice corner restaurant. Staff was so kind and they even provided complimentary breakfast!
