One of Eastern Europe’s oldest cities and the Ukrainian capital, Kiev is a hospitable city with lots to offer from historical heritage to inspiring architecture and modern commerce centers. So jump on Kiev’s impressive metro and enjoy the ride!
The city features many pious places with golden-domed and cave monasteries, orthodox churches and cathedrals. Among the most famous is Kiev Pechersk Lavra, one of Ukraine’s most important monasteries, founded in 1077 by St. Antoniy. Another is St. Sophia’s Cathedral housing the world’s largest collection of frescoes and mosaics from the 11th century onwards.
Kiev is not only known for its sacred buildings, it's also very rich in the people’s history. Over 40 different museums are visited by millions of guests every year. It includes the Museum of the Great Patriotic War with a stunning, more than 330-foot tall monument of Mother Motherland.
After a day of sightseeing, make sure you visit local bars and restaurants for a selection of Ukrainian cuisine: the delicious Borscht, pancake-like Mlyntsi or the unique Kvas, which is a brewed bread drink.
Whether you’re flying to Boryspil International or Zhulyany airports, the center of Kiev is just a short ride away. With over 280 properties, Booking.com has a selection of apartments and hotels near the airport and downtown.

I loved how advanced and beautiful the city is… very nice 5 stars eating plačeš and many fun plačeš too.. loved how affordable transport was using metro and buses and in general even with the war the city is still intact and safe. People exaggerate Kyiv to be a war zone but it really isn’t . Life is going on just fine 😍

Kiev is a world class city.
Kiev is a world class city. It is splendiferous and beautiful. Get there if you can. You will thank me. Be brave. Visit Kiev now..or wait until the nonsense ends and the hordes descend upon it, which will happen when commercial air service resumes.. Kiev will flower. The Ukraine is wonderful. Stand with Ukraine.

Kiev is a grandiose city you will hardly find similar scales...
Kiev is a grandiose city you will hardly find similar scales in central Europe. What makes it very special is the hills and for a viewing point you do not need to look for rooftops of restaurants or business centers - Kyiv can be viewed from a thousand angles from a height just by walking around it. It's especially interesting to know the historical context and to see a map of the city in the 11th century.

Not safe at the moment due to the current war with Russia.
Not safe at the moment due to the current war with Russia. Constant alarms of rockets flying by. Curfews at 23:00. Police will stop you and demand to see your passport and question you about the reason to be in ukraine. Walking after sunset can be dangerous, thieves might target your belongings. Make sure you carry medical insurance with evacuation. Make sure your insurance can provide immediate payment to emergency facilities otherwise you won't get any treatment. Or pay in cash in order to be treated.
Wonderful location, nice and easy walk to the city centre and really amazing restaurants. We stayed for 5 nights and it was a nice spacious apartment, you didn't feel like you were "stuck in a bedroom". Staff were really friendly, spoke English and made us feel really comfortable. We were a little bit cautious traveling to Kyiv and staying together as a gay couple but felt absolutely at home. The breakfast was amazing value and really good quality. Definatetly will be reccomending the Greguar Hotel and really hope to come back.
The whole staff, from the cleaning crew to the receptionists were exceptionally friendly, helpful and always greeted not just me, but everyone with a sincere hello and smile)) Yes, although they wore mask, you can still see their smiles in their eyes)).. Great job Bakkara Hotel for employing just the best down to earth, friendliest staff I've ever encountered at any of my stays, anywhere! I would definitely stay here again🙂
An exceptionally modern & spacious hotel, with all of the comforts & amenities you could hope for: minibar/ fridge, separate workspace, queen size bed, helpful 24/7 English-speaking receptionists, centrally located yet “tucked away” in a courtyard for added privacy & quiet. Very close to 4 & 5 star hotels at MUCH higher price points. Parking available for those that need (also a rarity in this part of Kyiv)
Great location! Very close to the railway station (and at the same time safe), subway (10 min walk), and the city center (20 min walk). The hotel is surrounded by old Kyiv streets and other interesting places of interest for a tourist. Also there're many parks as well as many various restaurants, coffee houses, and bars around.
In the room I liked clean sheets on the bed and clean bathroom.
The spa area , which are the main point of choosing this hotel, its not due to the location.
Then its quite far from the city center, more like Kiev outskirts , but that we knew in advance so the main point for this stay was the spa facillities which we enjoyed fully.
Very clean and neat Hotel, quiet , great aircondition. Kind staff .
This property is very nice and I advice to everyone but the location is a little far away to the city centre but you can use tram (8 Ukraine money) or Uber (80-90 Ukraine money).
And there some restaurants and market under the building. You can take fresh pizzas 🍕 in 5 mins.
By the way, I advice the flat.
Thank you ☺️
Recep
Fantastic accommodation in the very city center of Kyiv. Friendly staff and great breakfast! I had everything I needed in my room, including a kettle pot and some tea bags and instant coffee packs. I hope to get back to this wonderful hotel again soon. The city view from the top floor was second to none!!!
It's a decent place in Kyiv and very central. Breakfast is okay and the rooms also. Ukraine is at war so you cannot expect the same commodities from this hotel as from an Ibis let's say in Germany or Poland. Still, every time, I go there, it's a bit better.
The room was spacious and warm, and the bed was unusually comfortable (hotel beds tend to be cheap and hard in Ukraine, but not this one). Location is excellent, right in the city centre and only metres from the entrance to the Tealtral'na metro station.
10-15 min to City Center by walk. Near to metro station and parliement of ukraine. Hostel Lady doesnt know English but we can communicate with her in some way. She is polite and smiled face. Room and shower was clean
One of the best hotels I ever stayed at!
Location is great and close to all the touristic sites.
The rooms are clean and the service is amazing.
I really recommend this hotel and will definitely come back soon!
as a homebody introvert, the little sauna was easily one of the best things I've ever experienced in my life. the room was just-right-sized and low-key. a perfect base for recovering from city center adventures.
The best thing is the hotel staff, you get the best service you could get. The double bed room has everything you need, luxurious room. The breakfast is nice with relaxing music.
Best hotel in the city center.
It had to be the best boutique hotel experience I have had. Everything about it had a fine sense of detail. Great staff, fantastic room, fairly priced and excellent location. Quiet too!
The hotel has a great location, probably the best in Kiev in terms of view. The metro station is also very close, which was a big bonus. The breakfast was very good.
